What a difference a day makes!

Or in this case, a week!

Red-headed Woodpecker

We aren't hiking as often because of the summer time weather so it had been a week since I hiked the Florida Trails (West section) and Bluebird of Happiness Hill was humming!

Or maybe tweeting!

I saw dozens of Eastern Bluebirds.

I loved capturing these two together.

Wonder what they were saying high up in the branches of that old snag.

And there were several Doves.

Maybe wondering who the lady in the pink cap was, far below.

Lots of Woodpeckers as usual.

Red-bellied Woodpecker

But the biggest surprise was the hundreds of Warblers!

They don't stay still enough for many photos....

but I sure enjoyed seeing flocks of them flying about.

And the sweet bird song makes a hike even...

sweeter!

Have you seen more birds at your house this week?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Hello,

The sounds of the birds are lovely to hear. What a beautiful variety of birds. I love the Red-headed Woodpecker, the Bluebirds, the sweet doves and the Warblers. Great collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!

I see many birds lately because I am putting water and food out during this bad heat dome. A gray fox was in my yard again to partake, too, last night, and the dogs went berserk. I love your pictures today (as always!), and just really marvel at the sweet faces of the bluebirds and that woodpecker on top of the snag. We have many doves in the desert here, too. They are so sweet and the call of the mourning dove is so sad.

I have seen lots of birds on my walks...mostly the usuals but I am not complaining. I love the little bluebirds you get to see.

Red-headed Woodpecker would have been the prize for me. It's pretty rare here.

Another beautiful day on the trails! Great photos. I hope you can get in some hiking time over the weekend. :)

These are delightful captures!

Your birds are so varied and so many of them. Here I see mainly ravens, who are very territorial and shoo away the hawks. I have seen coveys of California quail, but they are much smaller than they usually are. Maybe only 10 - 15 birds. One mama can have up to 25 eggs, but not in this drought, I guess. I have house finches under my eaves and I've see some lovely western blue birds.

Lots of colorful birds this time! We'll probably be seeing the bluebirds soon since we're a bit north of you. Have seen a number of woodpeckers, but of a smaller size. Young, maybe? Mourning doves are again hanging out at my feeders. Will be looking out for some warblers soon! Hope you have a lovely Saturday, dear Diane!

My, my, my such a variety of birds. You are truly blessed in that way. I've been watering a friends yard while they are out of state for a wedding and last night while watering a little bird flew up and walk around right by my feet. I was so surprised. Maybe it was so hot from our temperatures that it just wanted water more than being afraid of me :)

Great photos!
We often see Red-bellied woodpeckers, but the Red-headed ones are rare sightings
Have a wonderful weekend!

I saw a yellow rumped warbler the other day at the birdbath. We have the bluebird couple back building another nest in the birdhouse, and now she is sitting in there most of the day, so I hope we'll get another batch of babies. I've seen lots of young Cardinals...but it's been raining so much the birds just can't hang around long, and the bird seed gets so wet I can't keep it dry long enough to keep it from sprouting! It's pouring again right now...thunder and lightning too, so I guess I'll go. Florida summer afternoon weather is upon us in buckets and buckets!

We have a family of Bluejays visiting our birdbath. The feathers on the top of the head, when they get wet, they look like a punk rocker. Ha.
Bluejays are pretty birds, we have not had them visit for several years, so it is fun to see them again.

My favorite is the woodpecker on the top of the dead tree. Looks like he's coming out of it.

Hello, hello my friend...long time since I have had the spirit to get on here and do what I have enjoyed so much in the past. I find that since my sister passed away, I need time to be still, be in quiet and meditate more. I took up what I call dot painting and shall post what I have done soon. Your image shares are so much fun and the walks are very humid here and I have to stay inside and just use my elliptical. Hoping that you and yours are doing well~

It's such a shame that your temperatures are too high for getting out hiking. Still, even on those short forays you seem to find lots of birds. Stay cool and enjoy your Sunday.

What beautiful pictures of the different species of birds.
The red-bellied woodpecker and the eastern bluebirds are truly amazing.
Both species do not occur in the Netherlands.
Greetings Irma

Beautiful pictures. I love that woodpecker! We have seen the most little woodpeckers this summer in our bird feeder. Girl, one day I had my binoculars looking at them in my back yard. It was a beautiful site to see. I hope your week goes good dear lady. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

A wonderful hike with so many sightings of beautiful birds. We can only see some common birds around our area and on our walks. Birds that are not as beautiful as yours.

I think a load of sparrows must have fledged because they are everywhere and tons of them. They all look pretty close to the same size but they don't seem to know how to fly as elegantly as the others. So, I'm not sure, but Lizzie and I are having fun!

That's such a pretty photo of the red headed Woodpecker. His body looks white and the head red, a bit different than ours here. Aren't they funny to watch? The Bluebirds are always sweet, and that is a cute picture of him standing on the tallest branch. I just saw a trail of Quail this morning in my front yard. And last night, a red bird and his mate flew right over my head and into my rose garden. I was surprised they weren't afraid. You saw such an assortment of birds at the trail last week. : )

nice birdweek for you. Always a pleasure to see a pair together as the Eastern Bluebirds.
The image with the warbler beside the cones are a cool shot. :) I would have been very pleased with it myself :)

Yes to seeing more birds at my house this week. We put food in the feeder on the back deck outside my kitchen window. This week my husband saw a Mourning Dove, just like in your picture, pecking around in the spilled food on the deck. Since the deck is up two stories, we were surprised to see it because they are ground feeders. We are now "spilling" feed on purpose on the deck. It returned yesterday and brought its mate! We like them and want them to return.
