I think it's a challenge to identify wildflowers here in Florida even though I have several ID books now.
This scarlet hibiscus was growing in a wet area on the river side of the trail.
Saltmarsh Mallow
Blue Run Park has a trail to the Withlacoochee River that has a swamp on one side and a river on the other. There are 2 rivers that come together, the Rainbow River and the Withlacoochee River.
And when you begin your walk, there are some dry areas too.
It's a beautiful place to hike, even in the summertime!
I think it would be nice to go fishing there sometime too!
Anyone have a boat I can borrow? heehee!

Well at least you can identify those pretties. I can never tell you what any flower is with exception of those I know for sure. Looks like you are having fun. Beautiful pictures. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
...we have Marsh Mallow to enjoy here too!
Hi Diane, beautiful photos of the flowers. Maybe you can rent a boat.
Hi Diane, beautiful photos of the flowers. Maybe you can rent a boat for fishing.
looks like a beautiful place for a hike!! wildflowers always make me smile, no one cares for them, they derive their water from natural resources, and they thrive!! a boat ride there, it's so pretty but are there crocodiles??
Beautiful flowers, a river, a green nature is what you get when it rains. I cannot remember the last time I experienced a real rain storm. Or even a small shower. It used to rain and snow a lot when I first lived here about 15 years ago. Not much of that now, the creek has run dry and we fear our wells may go the same way.
The flowers are all su beautiful....I love wild flowers, and it's fun to discovering them while out on hikes and walks. Thanks for sharing your discoveries!
Those Marsh Mallows are so beautiful. I agree, you have so many beautiful birds and flowers in your state. I miss it. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.
Some of the wildflowers we see in nature are so pretty, aren't they? I like that pink Saltmarsh Mallow. Such delicate petals. The last boat photo is very nice, and Yes, it would be nice to go fishing there or just take a boat ride.
Have a wonderful week, Diane.

Lovely flowers. The mallows I recognize. They are a beautiful flower that grows wild around here in places.
Hello,
Beautiful wildflowers, lovely place for your walk or a boat ride.
Take care, have a happy new week!
You want to be fishing in a boat on the water with all those alligators? 😵💫
i am feeling somproud of myself...I identified the first two flowers before I read this, Guess you're teaching me things. I
don't know the white one, though.
Great photos! I love all the pretty flowers and that scene at the end is gorgeous.
The saltmarsh mallow is so pretty. I'm not familiar with it but would love to have some in the garden
Amazing to think a flower can get as big as a dinner plate!!
Wonderful. It is always nice when one names the flowers or plants they see. Maybe the one you don't know is a Zephyrlily or Rain lily. Maybe?
Lovely series. Quite the hikers you all are and we enjoy it too.

Those flowers are all beautiful. Love that last picture. It looks so peaceful and relaxing.
Beautiful wildflowers. The red one sure pops out at you. Not a boat but I have a kayak. :)
The red hibiscus is gorgeous! I find it challenging to id wildflowers too, but always love seeing them. The mallows are so delicate. The last photo looks so pretty and cooling. Have a nice week!
Lovely photos, Diane! I just love saying Withlacoochee!!
Such tropical-looking wildflowers! Gargantuan blooms on those hibiscus. Just be careful of GATORS my friend!
They may be hard to identify but they certainly are gorgeous. I love that hibuscus!
Diane - love your wildflowers, but I am sorry I cannot identify that one! Love the mallow! And we do have a couple kayaks you could borrow, but it's a long way to Montana/Florida! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
I love the names of rivers and such there. Withlacoochee......I'm wondering if it's pronounced the way I think it is?
Lovely scenes! Have a good week.
I thought i had seen all florida hibiscus, but the scarlet is new to me. wow. love that last boating shot... I love Florida, always have and always will
The wildflowers are beautiful, but as you say it is not always easy to identify them. Don't give up though, the more you try the better you get.
Such beautiful flowers, the colours are lovely.
A boat ride can be so enjoyable, that's a peaceful scene in your last photograph.
All the best Jan
Beautiful photos, Diane. Everything looks so green and lush in Florida, even now. Here it's so dry. Boating is fun to do and fun to see!
Dearest friend of mine,
I want to thank you from the deep of my heart for visiting my Blog and writing such lovely words of appreciation.
Your shots from everything amazing the Nature presents us as gifts never fail to amaze me, thank you for sharing it all with us!
Wishing you a most wonderful remainder of your week

The one white flower you did not identify might be a rain lily. I love to see them pop up in the strangest places! Your flowers and views are wonderful...and if I had a boat I'd come ride with you down that river! We did go down the Withlacoochee River one time with a guide, embarking from Stumpknocker's Restaurant...do you know where that is? It is a fun place to eat, right on the river, probably due south of where you live. Across the road is Red's Diner, which is another nice place to eat. We never get down that far anymore, but used to enjoy eating there when we lived closer. Have a nice day hiking!
These wildflowers are so different than the kind we see in Pennsylvania. Very [rettu and omterestomg / O a, om South Florida in the winter but of course we see different flowers. Beautiful.
howdy there my sweet friend, hope this finds you healthy and happy! Goodness GRACIOUS it's so hot and wet here.....so much rain. Every single day we have small (or big!) summer thunderstorms, how bout there? It's so muggy!! Love your pretty wildflowers in this post, so pretty! I liked the post before too....you sure got some good pictures of birds flying! That one....my goodness---he is so stretched OUT and with his long beak all pointed and sharp---he looks like a flying arrow! LOL Whatcha all been up to this week?oh!!---i always like pictures of the deer too! You happen upon quite a few!! That one looked like it was dancing it's way to the meadow! LOL
Beautiful post showing these very lovely wildflowers. I don't think they get the appreciation they deserve. I'm surprised by how many we share with you here in Ontario. Doesn't that boat on the stream look like a slice of heaven!
Beautiful!
Have a blessed day!
Oh, this is a dreamy landscape, and the flowers are splendid.
Perhaps a tip for you too: The "Google Lens" app often helps me to identify plants or insects ...
Thank you for your kind words about the loss of our cat Maxwell, dear!

What beautiful photos of the flowers! I wonder what fish are in the rivers there? I hope no crocodile kind!! Have a great weekend~ xxoo
Thank you for sharing this adventure with us! I love the Saltmarsh Mallow - those blooms look so beautiful! That's amazing how big they are! Lovely! :)
Todas esas flores son preciosas, me encantaría pasear por ahí. Besos.
The picture of the boat looks like it belongs on an advertisement brochure for a tourist site. Makes me want to be there too.

Well at least you can identify those pretties
