"Cute Dog Day" at Blue Run Park!

We see a lot of dogs on our hikes at Blue Run Park.

And over the years we see some of the same ones and we try to remember some of their names. (it helps when I write them down in my hiking journal)

I've met this young man with his big therapy dog and we have something in common with them!

They drive a RED Jeep! heehee!

The weather was gorgeous and everyone was enjoying a nice day.

These are West Highland Terriers!

I sure would love one of these!

And we spotted this beautiful Tricolored Heron out in the swamp too.

We don't see them as often and it was especially colorful.

We also saw a River Otter which was special but didn't get a good photo! What a sighting though!!!

We saw a Limpkin and heard his mournful call too.

We could stay here ALL day, couldn't you?

But it's time to go home now! See you next time!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Those dogs! All of them. Adorable. The heron is stately, even majestic.

Sounds like a fun hike! Love your new header.

Beautiful shot of the limpkin. My friend lives in a condo on a lake, there are hundreds of condos all around the lake. a few years back two limpkins moved in and had babies. she told me there were several who wanted to raise money to hire a hitman to take them out. seems when mating they never shut up and it is a really loud piercing ugly sound. all that from a pretty bird. i love all the dogs and you KNOW which one I LOVE BEST...

...like Bob, the heron and limpkin are my favorites.

Good thing you didn't try to get in the wrong jeep Diane. He looks a little menacing if you tried to steal his transport!

Cute 'pups'--I see dogs all day long here--some days I wonder we have more dogs living here than tenants!!!
Will have to take a photo of my favorite one--Mia and share it on my site one of these days!!
And yesterday here along the parking lot in front is a group of palm trees (imagine that--palm trees in Florida!!!!!) and I seen a big pilated woodpecker--he was having fun pecking away at the palms!!
have a great weekend-hugs, di

Great picture of the Heron.
You got it right when you left the comment for me. 80 would be very warm for me. I get pretty warm when I walk. :) I'd much prefer it cold over too warm. Good thing we both live where we do. :) Still it would be nice to take a walk with you. :)

Enjoyed all your photos. I used to walk with a friend in my neighborhood who was a dog lover and knew every dog in our neighborhood but not the owners. We made many stops to pet and say hello as we walked.

I think the last picture is of a tired dog, saying, let's go home, already!

As always, the pictures from your hike are just remarkable and wonderful.

I like your blog header. Looks like a wonderful dogs day. I would want to make friends with some of the dogs. I think the dog in the Jeep doesn't want to leave so soon.

The year before my husband passed away he bought me 2 dachshunds so I'd have them to keep me company when he was gone. I take them walking in my neighborhood but I need to start taking them on trails. My daughter and I take her german shepherd with us on trails a lot. He loves going with us.
