Because of the hot weather and a foot that has bothered me, I've made more sixty minute hikes this summer.
Mourning Dove (on the trail! I had to say Shooo to get it to move!)
It's hard for me to make that turn,
I always want to go a little bit farther.
But it's been good for me I think.

I've definitely enjoyed getting out in nature whenever I can, for any length of time!
And we've had some funny sightings around the house lately too.
Who wouldn't want a little red MG delivered to the front door?
Our neighbor has a 'new ride' now!
And this Red-shouldered Hawk perched on the roof across the street.
To get ready for Fall....
this black cat walked all the way around our house.
Does that ward off goblins and ghouls?
Can't hurt! lol
Sixty minutes is enough time to get some good exercise and experience nature. (that's a forest monster not me!)

we don't get fall here, I am sick to death of heat and longing for temps to drop to 70 or below.. sweet little cat, looks hungry. I still have a bag of cat food that I bought for the black cat that came here twice a few weeks ago but never saw it again, I am wondering if birds eat cat food. will have to research.
I do a 75 minute hike every Saturday am at 6, when I walk in Walmart. come home and walk Beau for 20 minutes and back to put away supplies. all together that makes Saturday my longest hike of the week.
my other hike is taking turns with Bob mowing our lawn.
...I hope that the black cat didn't give you bad luck.
As you know, it hasn't cooled off enough here in central FL. I always enjoy your photos and LOVE the black cat. I've had three black cats and I miss them. xo

I have a lot of mourning dove here, we thought once of naming your little homestead "Mourning Dove Farm".
You need to put on a silk headscarf and dark sunglasses (like the 50's movie stars) and go over to your neighbors and ask to take a spin in their new sports car :)

What a snazzy car your neighbor got. That cat reminds me of one I had years ago. She was all black and we got her just before Halloween so we called her Hally.
A person can capture a lot in a 60-minute walk. Great photos, Diane. Whoa - nice car. Sweet black kitty.
Ohhh-- I love all black cats--my best lovin cat was all black except for one long white hair on his chest-I named him Bear--he was my buddy--but he got diabetes when he was only 3 1/2 and got it bad and we had to let him cross the rainbow bridge--I still miss him--and that was over 14 years ago!!

The doves are shy around me, they take off as soon as they see me coming. The Horsemint is a pretty plant. The black kitty is cute. Great captures of the Red-shouldered Hawk. Dear Diane, I'll start by answering your final question: OH YES, it's gotten extremely colder here - you could say from mid-summer to late autumn or winter; a little way away from our town it's snowing in the mountains and it's 3 degrees Celsius (= 37.4 Fahrenheit), here it's storming and raining and today it's 8 degrees Celsius = 46.4 Fahrenheit, which is cold enough for me. A week ago it was still over 30 degrees Celsius... I was really ready for nice autumn days, but not yet for winter. (But I think it will get warmer again - hopefully not so suddenly and so extremely...)
Now to nature - even though you were apparently only able to go on short hikes, you saw a lot of beautiful things. (I hope your foot is already feeling better!) And there have also been exciting sightings in your local area. A red-shouldered hawk is definitely something special. We had a black cat for 19 years - and never goblins and ghouls, so it probably helps 😊 Oh, and I would definitely take a cute little MG too...

What a sweet kitty. Yes, I'm so ready for fall, here in the mountains it's getting really cool at night, but the days are still warm. I think the really hot days are gone though and I'm so happy about that.

60 minutes is a lot when it is hot and especially with a sore foot. It looks as if you had some good sightings around home too.
Regarding cooler weather, since I'm just a few miles from you, we both are enjoying more agreeable temps right now. This afternoon we are sitting on the lanai with only one fan blowing on us (instead of the usual two!!).
I've missed my Florida updates and I'm glad to be back (by viewing it here, not in real life, where we're still in Oregon). Sorry to hear your foot is bothering you but glad you are able to make 60 minutes (I don't think I've walked that many minutes at a time this whole summer).

Fall has been happening a little around TN. My backyard is covered in leaves due to no rain though. The rain of last week helped to bring in some color and not just dead brown. I am ready for fall. I have been past ready.
