Is it less than $10?

Are you a bargain shopper? I sure am! I’ve always loved shopping the clearance racks and getting a good deal! But it seems even more important now that prices have gone up so much on groceries and necessities!

I love to shop but I don’t really ‘need’ anything! I just get in the mood for something new! I just like to LOOK! heehee!

So do you want to see one of my good deals from Kohl’s?

I know....I went over $10 but can you beat this?

I spent $11.71 for a blouse, a wallet and 2 pairs of earrings!

I had a $10 off coupon and since I’m over 50, I got a senior discount, too!

I love the little Relic wallet and I can always use more earrings! lol

 

And do you think this brand new top from Christopher and Banks is a good deal for less than $10! I sure did....and snatched it up off the rack! PERFECT!

Oh really? The buttons won’t come out of the button loops! I’ve managed to get ONE out so far! So I’m going to have to figure out another way to button this top! I might sew new loops on.....I’ll let you know!

I placed an order last week and got it in just a couple of days so now I have the Pumpkin Spice soap to try. I will also let you know how the cuticle cream works! Right now I am enjoying the Pumpkin Spice scent! I unwrapped the packaging and it makes the whole room smell like Fall! It works better than a candle!

I’ve always wanted to do a month in review so I decided to make a mosaic of photos from each of my posts in September and see what it looked like!

HHhmmmm...let’s see....

I started the month in the mountains of Western North Carolina enjoying the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains!

We went to Jekyll Island for a little ‘get away’....

and then spent the last couple of weeks in Florida!

I sure hope hubby doesn’t see this!

I’ll never be able to say,

“You never take me anywhere!” again!

It’s Fall...let’s BAKE!

Why do we always want to BAKE when the Fall season arrives?

It’s a beautiful day here in Florida and ‘only’ 84 degrees!

The hibiscus is blooming right now!

It’s a little cooler today so... LET’S BAKE!

My hubby LOVES bagels but he likes GOOD bagels from the bakery! We don’t have a Bruegger’s bakery nearby so I decided to make some!

First you boil them...

And THEN you bake...

It’s been years since I’ve made them but I love baking bread !

Hubby cut them and we toasted them...

...and added just a ‘little’ butter!

I found this recipe online that I modified just a bit!

Home Baked Bagels

1 1/2 cups warm water

2 packages yeast

2Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon salt

3 1/2 cups flour

2 quarts water , to boil

1 egg white

Directions:

1. Mix yeast, sugar and warm water together and let stand 3 minutes.

2. Mix 2 cups of flour with the salt in a large bowl and add the yeast mixture.

3. Stir until combined and slowly mix in the rest of the flour

4. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes, adding additional flour if needed, dough should be firm.

5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double.

6. After rising punch down and divide dough into 12 balls.

7. Allow to rest for 4 minutes.

8. Bring 2 quarts of water to boil.

9. With your thumb, make a hole in each ball of dough and pull open about 2 inches, making a bagel shape.

10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

11. Place the shaped dough onto a board and cover for 10 minutes.

12. Lower heat until simmering, turn it up as you cook to keep it hot!

13. Drop 3 bagels at a time into the water for about 4 minutes, turning each once.

14. Drain on a clean cloth and paper towels and place on lightly greased baking sheets.

15. Brush tops with beaten egg white

16. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown. Turn the broiler on to lightly brown tops.

 

It may seem like a lot of work....and it sure helped that my hubby came to my rescue when I needed an extra hand...but it sure is worth it when you taste them!

WOW! They are delicious!

It would be PERFECT to actually carry our cameras and all of our cords, batteries, chargers, etc. when we travel!

I’ll start with my favorite product!

The Shea, Jojoba and Flax Bath and body bar in the Citrus Blend!

It lathers well and has a sweet fresh scent that is energizing!

After I use that in the bath, I dab on some of the Exotic Butters “Dry Skin” Relief Balm in Citrus blend. It only takes a little and gives you some of the fresh citrus scent that lasts!

My husband is using the lip balm. He says it applies smoothly and stays on well and has a nice fresh scent. (It keeps him kissable! heehee! I added that after he left the room!)

I also have the Oatmeal and Honey soap. It’s made with pure coconut oil and leaves your skin smooth! I even want to say it leaves your skin slick! But I hope that sounds right...smooth and soft!

The other product I was happy to have here in Florida is the Mosquito Repellent! It only takes a small amount to protect you from ‘bugs’! I NEEDED that!

Golf with Wendy the Witch!

Wendy the Witch has gathered all of her pumpkins for Fall!

I found this little crate to put my pumpkin collection

I bought Wendy and her hat from the Etsy shop Clay Scraps!

Then I found these candy corn lights at Merchandise Liquidators!

Later I saw them at CVS for a little more but they are worth it!

I’ve been collecting these pumpkins for years and bought most of them from a lady that sells her crafts in NC.

I think they are adorable!

So what does this have to do with GOLF?

I live on a golf course....the blue tee on the tenth hole joins our backyard here in Florida!

So I don’t see many ‘loose’ golf balls! But I have a couple!

(to answer the questions about balls coming in a window...the golfers ‘tee off’ behind our house so the golf balls go DOWN the course. We rarely find one in our yard!)

Sometimes you feel like a NUT....

especially at the Central Florida Peanut Festival!

We had the BEST time at this festival!

There was FUN for everyone!

I even stopped to get feathers in my hair!

This sweet lady put them in...they’re kind of flying out of the side of my hair! It was windy!

Hubby walked over here while my hair was being feathered....

YAY HUBBY!!! He SCORED some Kettle Corn!

He also got boiled peanuts but he ate them while we walked!

Yes...that’s an empty cup! heehee!

We saw elephants,

miniature horses,

donkeys

and this HUGE dog!

I bought this string of turquoise for $3, the boat brooch for $1...feathers were $5!!! I was already wearing a necklace with beads and an arrowhead and two pairs of earrings! By the end of the day I started looking like a gypsy...or a NUT!

Who else has a chicken ‘egg basket’?

I know someone showed a wire chicken basket on their blog

because I added it to my ‘wish list’ when I saw it!

I was thrilled to find one this week at my favorite thrift store for $1! I had a little crate of eggs already so I put them in and placed it on top of my fridge!

I was surprised to see a post by my girlfriend, Anne at Bird/Like showing the one she bought this week for a quarter! Here’s a photo of HERS!!!

So who else has one? I went to the blog where I thought I had seen it but couldn’t find it in a search!

So I’m really curious now...

WHO else has a wire chicken ‘egg basket’?

Curious minds need to know!!!

PS My sweet kittens below are a cream pitcher and sugar bowl! (they are a little bigger than they appear in the photos!)
