The 'Mug Rug Bug' BIT !!!

I got bit by the 'bug' this week! Madame Samm gave it to me...and several others I think! heehee! She always inspires...and this time I could NOT resist the 'bug'!

I googled 'Mug Rug tutorial' and found this sweet lady, Rachel at her blog Contented !

So I made this one first! I love it! Thanks Rachel for the help!

And then my hubby said...GREAT...

DSCN9881

we need one of those for our mugs that set out next to the coffee pot!

So I made this very simple one!

Then I got into the Christmas fabric stash

and made this really cute one!

Then I had an idea for one made out of some of my most beautiful fabric.

Well this was my own design that I thought would look more like a quilt...with little 1 1/2 squares!

But I did not have a good contrasting color to make another row so I finished it off with some dark green velvet.

I love it except for one 'small' problem! It is SMALL! lol

So my dolls thought it was for them!

And you know how it is here in Florida....

we have picnics at Christmas time!

And HUGS to my best friend, Kaila for this precious little doll She was my birthday gift one year!

Thanks to everyone for the inspiration! "The Mug rug bug" is the BEST! Makes you feel HAPPY !!! Have you done any creative projects lately? HUGS!

You are really on a roll. They are all cute, and I need to make some myself.
Have you seen these? She makes up her own designs. If you scroll through her blog posts, you will see many different ones. Someone had asked her to share her technique, but I don't think she did.

Your Mug Rugs are so colorful! I made a small one (that sits on my computer desk) after purchasing my Janome. A great project to get the feel of my new machine.

My latest project was a hand puppet ghost for my grandchild made from a white hand towel. It can fly into the washing machine. :)

Those are so cute and useful too. I have plans somewhere to make place mats out of children's themes to use for tea parties with the granddaughter. I guess I need to find them again. I think they were on the cosey posey or angry chicken websites.

A mug rug? It took me a minute to catch on. But how cute.

I am so glad that the dolls can have picnics during this time of year. I'm jealous.

These are adorable! And would make a great craft to do. I must start getting more crafty, it's just hard to find materials here in France :)

Just wanted to drop by and say hi and that you have a lovely blog! Maybe we could follow each other!
