Our sweet company is gone…
and the guest room is back in order!
Somehow that doesn’t seem like a good thing!
This Cross Stitch was made especially for me by my daughter in law a few years ago! I treasure it! And I love decorating with ‘mountain colors’!
We sure had fun….
and a few serious moments, too!
Do you know Amelia Bedelia?
I do now!
Enjoy your weekend!
Read a good book!!!

Good Morning,
I see a little teddy bear on the guest bed. (o: I love the framed Noah's Ark artwork, did you embroider that? It is beautiful.
Happy weekend.
Hugs
Oh My gosh that book brings back memories. Your guest room looks so comfy and cozy, I love that fuzzy blanket. Always sad when the house is quiet, but you get used to it fast again.
How nice that you could enjoy such quality moments with your family. Reading time is a big hit at our house and Josie adores Amelia Bedelia and all her mixed-up adventures. Your guest room is very comfy. Have a lovely weekend.
What a beautiful sampler! We have quite a few Noah's Arks around our house.
I loved Amelia Bedelia when my kids were young. A very fun read.
Of course we know all about poor Amelia Bedelia around here! God bless her! Thanks heavens she knows how to bake the best pies in the world, or she would probably be put out on the street! ;P
That's what you need to sheer yourself up from the guest bedroom blues...one of Amelia Bedelia's pies!!!

Hello my friend...
It looks like you have been busy, busy, dear lady! I'm so glad that you have been able to visit with your family. I sure am missing all of mine right now.
Diane, your guest room is lovely! I was admiring the pretty bedding and would love to see a closer shot of that long decorative pillow sometime! Ohhh...and your "Noah's Ark" crosstitch is gorgeous! How sweet of your daughter! Thanks for sharing your beautiful guest room with us today!
Warmest summer wishes,
Chari
I love the sight of everyone relaxed and absorbed in their books. Nice family!
I just adore Amelia Bedelia! Everybody sitting around with a book looks really nice to me.
Yes, it must feel odd now that your company has left. Ameila Bedelia is such a great character. Glad you met her this week. I think I'm going to take you up on the read a book offer. Hubby will be off for the afternoon and it is a corker of a day.
Hi Diane,
I know you are going to miss your family. So great they got to visit you. Those little ones are adorable. I know they had a wonderful time. I have to tell you....I have that same leopard throw in my guest room! I'll have to make a photo of it on the bed and post it. Love the dolls! Have a great weekend with your sweet hubby. xoxo Kim
Yes,I remember Amelia Bedelia...she was a favorite of my kiddos long ago...glad to see she is still popular with the youngsters now...your guest room is lovely...bet,the dolls will miss their roommates as well....blessings to you Diane.
I always miss the grandkids when they leave and yet, Iike putting the chaos back to order!
I miss my family when they leave, so I know just how you feel. I try to find things to take my mind away from it, not that it works, hahaha. Reading is a good escape!
Even the dolls in the guest room look sad and lonely :(
That is a beautiful cross stitch! My granddaughters nursery was all Noah's Ark.
I know who Amelia Bedelia is! My kids and I read these books, too. They loved them!
Enjoy the weekend, and I hope your weather is better than ours. Although I am enjoying the cooling off these rains provide :)
Hugs!
Looks like a perfect holiday and everyone is so engrossed in their reading. How perfect.
Beautiful, serene and welcoming
Helen
There's always that little emotional hangover after the family leaves. I am keeping my 2 nephews (3 & 6) in a few weeks. I might have the hangover while they are here :) The guest room is such a pretty mix of keepsakes and new design...very pretty.
Take good care,
Karen
Its hard after they leave... and Amelia Bedelia...or yes I know her!! In fact I have a granddaughter that is one...LOL
Beautiful guest room, but I agree they are much better full. Love Amelia Bedelia, brings back memories of my girls when they were younger.
Cathy
It's always seems alittle sad to me when company leaves...the house just seems so silent!!
My granddaughter loved Amelia Bedelia when she was younger...brings back memories of her and I reading together.
Hope you are having a great weekend.

Cindy

Of course you miss them!
I should read a book..I blog instead.

Oh, I know the feeling after the sweet company leaves. :( Glad you had such a wonderful time with them.
Your guest room looks so pretty and I see little babies all around!

Hi Diane,
Looks like wonderful summer fun with your dear family. Love your guest room. It is gorgeous.
Enjoyed your hiking and mountain pics too.
Sounds like you are really enjoying the summer. We are too but boy is it HOT here in Texas. Over 100 everyday. The pool is like bathwater!!
Have a nice rest of the weekend.
XO Celestina Marie
Well, isnt it sad when the fam leaves? :) I know how ya feel, but they'll be back before you know it! And reading a good book? Always! :)
Hugs,
Thanks for your sweet visit! Your guest room is lovely although after friends and family leave there is always that little empty feeling! I love North Carolina..my parents lived there for a time and I enjoyed my visits to your beautiful state! Hope you are enjoying your summer!
Miss Bloomers
I love to see company come, but I kind of like to see them go....Oh, I know I sound terrible! With a guest room that nice I am surprised it is ever empty!!
Carol
I'm with Polka Dot Cottage. love the idea of company, but I have to admit I'm usually glad in a few days when I get my house by to myself. Although I love seeing friends and family, I also love the privacy that only home can offer.
Sounds like you had a great time with the grandkids! Glad you were keeping busy in a good way. :)
The feeling of emptiness means you had a really good visit. So glad that you had a good time.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
We often as a family read together too.
Nice seeing your pics!
