“The Guest Room Blues”

Our sweet company is gone…

Somehow that doesn’t seem like a good thing!

This Cross Stitch was made especially for me by my daughter in law a few years ago! I treasure it! And I love decorating with ‘mountain colors’!

We sure had fun….

and a few serious moments, too!

 Do you know Amelia Bedelia?

I do now!

Oh My gosh that book brings back memories. Your guest room looks so comfy and cozy, I love that fuzzy blanket. Always sad when the house is quiet, but you get used to it fast again.

How nice that you could enjoy such quality moments with your family. Reading time is a big hit at our house and Josie adores Amelia Bedelia and all her mixed-up adventures. Your guest room is very comfy. Have a lovely weekend.

What a beautiful sampler! We have quite a few Noah's Arks around our house.
I loved Amelia Bedelia when my kids were young. A very fun read.

Of course we know all about poor Amelia Bedelia around here! God bless her! Thanks heavens she knows how to bake the best pies in the world, or she would probably be put out on the street! ;P

That's what you need to sheer yourself up from the guest bedroom blues...one of Amelia Bedelia's pies!!!

Hello my friend...

It looks like you have been busy, busy, dear lady! I'm so glad that you have been able to visit with your family. I sure am missing all of mine right now.

Diane, your guest room is lovely! I was admiring the pretty bedding and would love to see a closer shot of that long decorative pillow sometime! Ohhh...and your "Noah's Ark" crosstitch is gorgeous! How sweet of your daughter! Thanks for sharing your beautiful guest room with us today!

Warmest summer wishes,
Chari

Hi Diane,
I know you are going to miss your family. So great they got to visit you. Those little ones are adorable. I know they had a wonderful time. I have to tell you....I have that same leopard throw in my guest room! I'll have to make a photo of it on the bed and post it. Love the dolls! Have a great weekend with your sweet hubby. xoxo Kim

I miss my family when they leave, so I know just how you feel. I try to find things to take my mind away from it, not that it works, hahaha. Reading is a good escape!

Even the dolls in the guest room look sad and lonely :(

That is a beautiful cross stitch! My granddaughters nursery was all Noah's Ark.

I know who Amelia Bedelia is! My kids and I read these books, too. They loved them!

Enjoy the weekend, and I hope your weather is better than ours. Although I am enjoying the cooling off these rains provide :)

Hugs!

There's always that little emotional hangover after the family leaves. I am keeping my 2 nephews (3 & 6) in a few weeks. I might have the hangover while they are here :) The guest room is such a pretty mix of keepsakes and new design...very pretty.

Take good care,

Karen

I'm with Polka Dot Cottage. love the idea of company, but I have to admit I'm usually glad in a few days when I get my house by to myself. Although I love seeing friends and family, I also love the privacy that only home can offer.

Sounds like you had a great time with the grandkids! Glad you were keeping busy in a good way. :)
