The oranges and citrus fruit are ripening on the trees at this time of year.
And one of our neighbors has a pretty little lime tree on their patio with a nice crop of limes.
I picked a few (thanks neighbor) and will leave them on the counter to ripen for a few days before I cut them. Don’t they look pretty?

Oh I wish I was there with you to ride with y'all and pick some yummy grapefruit, oranges, and lemons. Grapefruit are my favorite though. I like mine will salt ;)

How nice to be able to pick citrus fruits from your garden! I remember my first trip to Florida( Disney World honeymoon 1976) and being amazed by the orange groves!!
Oh, that sounds wonderful! When I was a kid, each Christmas my dad would get a box of Florida citrus. it made the house smell wonderful!

So pretty! xoxo Citrus says Christmas to me too in the desert of Arizona. My older lemon tree is filled and my younger citrus trees have an assortment of a few oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines.
Like you, we are experiencing fantastic weather. My favorite fruit at this time of year is tangerines and they actually make me think of Christmas.

Ahhh, I love "seeing the green" as our world is now white and cold... Are limes yellow before they ripen to green, or is that a really stupid question? I've seen oranges and lemons growing, but never limes, so forgive my question...
My favourite scent in the whole world is fresh cut limes.

I have never seen limes, lemmons or oranges growing on trees. They must be so colorful. I could use some of that color right now. White here. But at least it doesn't look dirty brown here now. But ask me about that color in spring and i will be happy to see it. :)

Hi Diane, These are pretty pictures! How nice to have fresh citrus! When I was a little girl we visited aunts and uncles in California and were able to enjoy fresh avocados, lemons, and pomegranates. What a novelty, and what a pleasure!
Here in Iowa, I grow raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, and strawberries (and LOTS of flowers).

We had snow yesterday and the temperature is now at 2 pm finally up to 31. I am soooo envious of being in a climate that allows you to pick citrus on Nov. 30th!!!

Hmmmm...I envy you all that fresh citrus. Gone are the days when my Florida relatives would send large boxes of citrus, but I have my memories. Yes, it does look pretty and I hope that it is most delicious.

I love my lemon tree although sometimes I have a glut of lemons. On a cooking show a couple of years ago there was a lemon tree that they had trained over a trellis to make a shady area with a table underneath, and a view of the Italian coast beyond. I thought it was such a great idea - both the tree and the view!

Don't you just love our Florida citrus. I made two batches of limoncello and one of orangecello for Christmas. The kitchen smelled DIVINE.

I am visiting family in AZ and even though it seems strange to grow citrus in a desert, they have citrus ripening here too and oh I love fresh citrus.
i hope you find me here at the very bottom of a very long list. Oh my. I am late commenting today. Too many things to do. But I have a quiet moment. I really like you header. I know how delicious and natural my apples taste right from the tree in the front yard, I can only dream about fresh tree grown oranges. Or bananas, even. Grapefruit? Those beautiful ruby reds. Oh my mouth waters now. I do hope the Florida growers have a great season. Enjoy a fresh orange me, won't you?

I can almost smell the lemon from here. My parents painted a lemon tree in our front foyer in the 1960's. Remember the song "Lemon Tree" sung by Peter, Paul & Mary?

Fresh limes! How fun. Enjoy your beautiful weather. We woke up to 13 degrees outside. Brrrrr!!!
It has gotten pretty chilly in Fla. I was there the weekend before Thanksgiving week!!! Hopefully it was low enough to make the citrus sweet!! Of course today in St. Augustine it was almost 90.

That is so cool to go out to your patio and pick fruit! It was warm for a couple days but now it's cold again sort of...43....not bad really but it's very overcast which makes it feel colder than it is. LOL! Enjoy your fruit!
