Photo Challenge “Trees”

We love our big beautiful Live Oak trees dripping with Spanish moss in this part of North Central Florida.

This huge tree is what I see from my kitchen window.

And this is a view when the sprinklers were on over the golf course one early morning.

Of course, I can’t show trees in Florida without at least one palm tree. How about a really really TALL one!

I took this in McIntosh last week.

I’m taking part in

Donna’s photo challenge.

What a huge and gorgeous tree to view from your window - must make kitchen chores much easier with scenery such as that Diane!

Love the pic with the sprinklers running.

Happy weekend - Mary

P.S. Just returned from Asheville - it was so beautiful with a lot of color in the trees still.

I love your pictures. I have seen those live oaks with the moss...it's a wonderful view. As you know our trees are leafless..not so pretty. Glad I have some pines here. Hope you have a great fun weekend. xoxo, Susie

The lavender sisters have linked first. :-)
I wrestled with what I would post for this challenge and had photos of my crabapple in 3 different seasons ready but changed my mind at the last minute.
Your oak tree across the way is a magnificent specimen and I'm always fascinated by spanish moss. Is is something that can be used for crafting in any way?

I think that I shall never see a thing as lovely as a tree. That's not really how it goes but my husband and I love trees too. :) Your pictures are amazing!

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

It's bee-u-tee-ful up here this morning. Cold and very overcast, looks like maybe some snow flurries? I sure hope so. (o:

Hugs,
Prudence

We saw the Christmas tree being delivered at Biltmore on Wednesday, I wrote about it on my Blog.

That certainly is a beautiful view! I'm a tree lover too! I have a beautiful horse chestnut in my backyard that has very large leaves that I adore. Maggie

The "sprinkler" picture is awesome! We love our live oaks here in Mississippi, too. They stood tall and proud through Katrina when so many others didn't make it.

What a gorgeous live oak, Diane, and to think that is your view each day! I also was glad you included a palm tree. Nice work!

What a beautiful big old Live Oak! The sprinkler picture is kind of mystical.
Very nice contribution to the Challenge.

Live oaks are so grand, and that one is a beauty. I would enjoy doing the dishes with a view of it! Beautiful backlighting on the golf course. Well done! And that palm tree is a giant one, LOL.

Absolutely beautiful, my friend...I remember the first time I saw a palm tree, I was so amazed. In the world of trees, they are so unique. My favorite is the next to last though...the light coming from behind and the water from the sprinklers...stunning! Have a wonderful weekend, Diane!

Really gorgeous trees, Diane. The one with the morning sprinklers is full of mystery. Palm trees speak to me of vacations and hammocks and cool drinks. Delightful.

Wow - that is one huge tree. How fabulous to look at it every day. I love the palm trees - I was hoping someone would show some - I miss them from California - there are no palm trees in Washington - at least not in NW WA - we have lots of trees - but no palm trees - they make me a bit homesick.

Ah yes, there is something so southern about a live oak tree dripping with Spanish moss. I was just in Charleston and surprised that I didn't see much of it. I wondered if the moss shows up more at certain times of the year??
Of course, those palm trees are a beautiful southern sight as well.

All of your tree photos are fabulous, but I absolutely love the second photo! Such a dramatic statement!

For a Canadian, the sight of Spanish moss dangling from big, old trees is the signature of the romantic south. I love it!

I've always loved that Spanish Moss and your tree is beautiful. That is a gorgeous picture with the sprinklers and what a palm tree!

That is a beautiful old oak tree. So different from the Garry Oaks we have here. My favorite picture, though, is your sprinkler shot. So much contrast between the dark silhouette and the bright sparkles.

What a beautiful view of that ole tree out your window! I love it, as well as the tall palm tree. Stopping by from the Photo Challenge today.

I love your first image of the magnificent oak draped in Spanish moss - I wonder how old it is Diane.
A beautiful outlook from your window.
The sprinklers on the golf course is fun - the spray of water and the light play is just special!
It's good to catch up with you at Donna's party - I'm so busy working I only manage a couple of posts a week now - darn it!!

I love those massive Live Oaks too, although I've never understood the name.. "Live" as opposed to Dead Oak?? And the massive palms are so beautiful too... Lovely shots Diane. Love the one with the morning fog... :)
Hugs Linda

Whoops! Cancel that "fog" comment. On second look, I see it's sprinklers, not fog. My BRAIN is foggy tonight!! haha

Hi...love the trees, I live in Florida also on the west coast about an hour north of Tampa. Love how the water "mists" in the trees...almost a surreal look. Thanks for the post!

That's probably what I miss the most Diane about Florida - other than the seafood - are the awesome old live oaks and the hanging spanish moss!!! Beautiful early morning shot of the trees!
