And there was a FENCE!
AND a sign!
And here we are BEHIND the fence! haha!
We didn’t go back for the big celebration but we wished him a Happy Birthday when we were there!

How neat! Very cool pictures, and I love the "Splatter Zone" sign! LOL!!
What a effective custom sign!! You have to wonder though ... for them to have that sign, someone must have first been splattered ;] Happy Birthday Lu. Um, where's Lu's party hat Miss Diane?! Not just for the birds!
Wendy
Fine pictures of Lu :)
And a great shadow greeting :))
Have a fine day

Isn't Lu cute? Can a hippo be cute? Yes.

Cute!! Fences are important for many reasons!

What a wonderful fence around this sweet hippo who is 55 years old. MY goodness I never knew they lived that long. WOW!!
Great shadow of you two!

sweet thing. i hope he/she has a good life!
Your posts are always so much fun, Diane :) Thanks for the extra cuteness today. Hugs!
Love your shadow picture with the fence, what a great idea! Lu the hippo evidently splatters people a bit.
Happy hippo day! Stay well back from that fence! Glad you had a fun time!
55 sounds so young for us...but I thought that was old for a hippo. But then I am not real knowledgeable about them. Glad there was a fence. :):) You do see some unusual things.Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Love the Hippo and all the fences.
Boy, I wish I was joining Lu basking in the sun!

Those are very BIG animals aren't they??We have some at the Birmingham Zoo!
I'm wondering how they know Lulu is that old...cutie pie that she is.
That's a good old ripe age...and I had no idea that hippos got that old.

Is Lu a guy? I thought it was a girl? I hope those were "good fences"...hippos can be very dangerous!
Gotta have that camera handy at all times, as you never know when a fence might splash up.
Such a fun way to be part of the "Fences party"!
Nice looking hippo! I wonder if hippos live very long lives.
Awww, sleeping Hippo, nice fence too.Blessings Francine.
I'm glad there was a fence and a good one! Love the sign!
Very nice ! I thought of you on our trip down the state last weekend!
That was fun. Lu seems to be enjoying life there. I have a friend who lives in Homosassa, she's never mentioned a zoo there. I'll have to ask her why? I'd stay clear of the splatter zone for sure!
I love the pictures! I forget how big they are! I also love the sign.
That's awesome. And Lu is 55! Wow. Great photos and fences and sign.
Hello my friend....Nice post! Loved seeing the Hippo!
Sounds as if it was going to be a good party! Happy Birthday to Lu and many more.
Oh, wow, cannot believe Lu is 55! Did not realize they lived to be that old.
Wow! I'd love to see a hippo in person.
Blessings,
Cindy
