It Feels like Spring!

Or maybe even summertime! We’ve had lots of temps in the 80s already and decided to get in a morning hike over the weekend while it was still nice. (It was 80 when we finished at 11 am!)

We haven’t had the Spring showers yet but there are pretty wildflowers popping up everywhere.

Hubby and I both took flower photos on hike #12 at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon.

I’ve learned over the years to recognize the Yellow Jessamine that we see growing in vines along the trail.

12BlueRun

But I’m not sure what this lily type flower is that’s growing in the swamp. It reminds me of a Spider Lily.

The Yellow Pond Lily has the huge leaves lying on top of the water with large yellow buds.

flowers

I recognize the bright blue flower as Spiderwort.

I’m not sure about some of the other wildflowers but they are beautiful!

And now I have to ask for your advice.

And you have to TELL ME THE TRUTH!!!

Should I wear this flower cap? Am I brave enough?

I got it at the Farmer’s Market and I’m just not sure it is ME!

the flowers are so good to see, we are sooooo far from flowers here, still many feet of snow on the ground. Your hat is beautiful, you asked for honesty,, I wish I could say I am brave enough to wear it but I am not,, I can see many people wearing that hat with pizzazz but it would not be me, I am too chicken for that hat, I truly envy people that are so brave and carefree, the Ladies Red Hat Society,, I love to see them but it gives me a nervous twitch thinking of wearing it,, I'm too shy I suppose.I like to disappear in a crowd lol,,I do think you would look cute in it!! Go for it, you're a spunky lady, show your wild side!!

In the 60's here was a song called Jesamine so very flower power!
"A butterfly child so free and so wild
And so full of living"
Back then I didn't know there was also a flower with that name, just loved the lyrics.
Absolutely wear the hat, it's adorable, post pictures soon, please.

If you wear a ball cap, I think yours is very cute for spring and summer! Ohhhh...that Jessamine is a lovely flower.

We've had warm weather lately here too, Diane, but it is due to get colder this week. That hat! I think you would get a lot of compliments!

Spring really is beautiful! Our Jessamine is not blooming yet but I’m going out in the front beds to work this afternoon and see what I can get done! At the ranch it’s all about wildflowers! No gardening required!

Wow - those are perfect temps! Lovely pictures you two took as well. Yesterday I was out putting some of my spring decor up outside and lo and behold . . . my crocuses and lilies are 3" out of the ground already! Woo Hoo!! You know, I think the hat would suit you! You have such a fun and happy personality, I would go for it!

I sure wish we had some spring flowers were popping up around here. At least the sun is shining today and it's warmer today! Your photos are really lovely! Thank you.

I think the hat would look good on you and you should wear it. It definitely looks like a Florida type of cap and it would be fun to see someone wearing it!

Diane, the wildflowers on your walk are beautiful. We've had up and down temperatures here with plenty of rain. Spring is knocking at our door and I can't wait. Have a lovely evening. ♥

Nice to see all those beautiful colorful flowers.

How pretty and bright that Jessamine is. It would be a lovely sight to see in the wild. If you wear baseball caps, I'd say go ahead, but only if YOU feel comfortable. It's a very pretty hat.

Well, there's only 50 degrees difference between us .... I am enjoying your sunshine and flowers from afar! As well as I can know you through a blog, I think the hat suits your personality well and you should put it on for your very next trip out of the house! And like Maggie said, post pix!!!

It will be awhile before we see flowers in our world so I'm thrilled to see them in yours! Lovely!

Hello Friend,
I see 12 hikes already for 2018!! Wonderful, what a great start to the year.
I enjoyed all the photos today. FLOWERS and MORE FLOWERS!! The swamp lily is interesting. It would make a different kind of bouquet. If I could get in and pick some, before an alligator got me. LOL
I think the hat is fun, but you do have to feel comfortable.
Love, Carla

I have a sister that would adore that hat - I am a bit too tame for it myself - I can't imagine the weather you are having - oh my!

Looks like so warm in your place. Even in 50s, it feels comfortable once you experienced consecutive 30s here. The wild flowers are so lovely. I think you’d look nice with that cap with flowers. Be a bit adventuresome.

The flowers are gorgeous and you've already in the 80's, WOW! Today is our warmest day of low 60, but then in 3 days, the snow is expected>....crazy midwest weather. I don't even see a bud blooming yet. I'd wear the hat since its adorable!

Love all the pictures of the flowers.... our trees are starting to bloom here and I have seen daffodils out in others yards. The squirrels won't leave my tulips alone... but I hear they don't like daffodils! So I may have to give them a try. The hat is cute and I bet it would be a pleasant conversation started too :-) Enjoy it!

Blessings,
Jill

Hi Diane,

I see that spring has sprung in your neck of the woods, too, and what pretty petals it has bestowed on the landscape. I like the hat - it's so YOU!

Although I have not met you in person, I picture you to be a happy and fun loving lady. One who could pull that hat off well. I imagine it would bring smiles to many who saw you wearing it. It is adorable. I think it would be the perfect hat to wear to a garden walk. If you do get brave enough, please post a photo.

Howdy my sweet friend and I loved this post with all the bright and pretty spring flowers! Your jessamine pictures are so pretty! I think ours is blooming as well, it's in bushes here. I had never seen those purple flowers EVER EVER til we moved in here and our back yard has big clumps of them, somebody told me there were "swamp iris" but then I learned they were spiderwort! I love them and Mr. Front Porch leaves me a clump or three when he mows, ha ha!! They just sprout up wild like all over the yard, not sure how they even got here. They seem to only bloom in the morning though, not in the evenings. I do love your hat and you know me---such a hat lover!--so I say "go for it!" I think it would be real cute on you! Be sure to make pictures when you wear it, okay? I have a pretty big collection of hats now which is something I"ve only worn in the past few years I think.

PS---I knew you would like that purple table and chairs!!---I did too!! ha ha and did you see the big PURPLE HOUSE over on Susies blog??!

I have been missing out on seeing your beautiful pictures here on your blog. All the beauty makes me want to move south! My surgeon told me yesterday that because we do not get much sunshine here in Ohio that I need to supplement vitamin D. (of course, I do that) I told Alan that it would be more pleasant to move south.

I love your new hat! If I looked good in a hat, I would make one like it.

I loved your pictures of the horses and the baby horses. You do live in a beautiful part of Florida.

I loved your jewelry too! I like and admire jewelry on other people but when I buy it for myself, I never wear it. I need to get with the program!

It has been 7 weeks since my surgery and I am now seeing improvement. By the time summer comes, I should be much improved. My surgeon told me yesterday that it may take a year. I am so thankful that Alan has taken such good care of me. What would we do without such great husbands.

Have a wonderful day today and God bless!

Thanks for sharing the flower pictures. We could use a little flower power here. As for the hat I love it and would get one if I saw it.

The lily looks like a Cahaba Lily but I thought they only grew here in Central Alabama on the Cahaba River.

i would definitely wear that hat, for sure, no doubt about it!!!

the flowers are beautiful and really make me long for spring! and that sun, the sun too!!!

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

You can wear that hat! You really can. You really should.

Your yellow flowers are great -- the color does remind me of Spring. I have a little bit of a problem this time of year, because I miss 'normal' Spring flowers. I tell myself that it is a fair trade, we don't have Winter, so we don't have early Spring either.

The Bear's Blog said...

By all means, WEAR IT. Just think of it as your new spring look. Love it!
