Milkshakes, butterflies and the letter R!

One of the wonderful things about living in Florida is the fresh produce! We have an abundance of fruits and veggies grown right here so it's nice to buy things in season.

Strawberry season begins in February and it's going strong now. The strawberries are sweet and delicious and reasonably priced. Time to make hubby some milkshakes! He actually needs to gain weight so these are perfect for his diet. I can't eat sugar but I can enjoy some of the strawberries in cottage cheese. I know it's not fair...but what can we do? lol

Imagine my surprise when I pried the lid off the brand new box of ice cream and saw the letter R carved into the top layer of creamy Vanilla! Hhhhmmmm....somebody has been in the box and if they didn't want to be 'found out' they should have carved another letter...like W...for Wendy! hahaha!

I am also very thankful for my friends! Blog friends are the BEST! And I've gotten several cards lately.

I won't try to name everyone....but please know that they have been very appreciated !

This one came from my blog friend and penpal in the Phillipines. A hint...her name is the same as mine. We always say we are namemates! She has been a loyal friend for years now!

And here's what's on my drawing board...or painting board!

I'm having such fun with the Tombow watercolor markers!

Lots to give thanks for this week! How about you?

Oh your butterflies are beautiful Diane. I may have to pick up some of those markers. I got a kick out of the R that found its way to the ice cream! Wish I had the problem your hubby has...I need to get myself under control as I love sugar way too much. However Ice cream I can take or leave....chocolate candy is my favorite.lol

Fresh, juicy, delicious strawberries are one of life's greatest treats. When you say that you cannot eat sugar are your referring to refined sugar only? There is a lot of natural sugar in fruit.

Wish I needed to gain weight! I’m an expert. 😉 That’s a cute way to let you know he’d been in the ice cream box. Enjoy your cards and making cards and I think you can do that with some strawberries and cottage cheese.

Where did you get the watercolor markers from? I want to try my hand at making watercolor art.

Your cards are beautiful, love the sentiment you've stamped on them too! And how funny about the R in the icecream! I hope we can get some of the fresh Florida strawberries in our area soon, they look sooo good! I'm tired of only seeing strawberries from Mexico! That milkshake sure looked good! Always so fun to communicate by snail mail with friends, and so exciting to have a letter come all the way from the Philippines! Enjoy your week :) Blessings!

hi Diane, that's so nice that you make the shakes for your husband. My man always makes protein shakes for breakfast and both share a glass. I love the pretty cards you received and the pretty butterflies you are making. Have fun.

Strawberries are my favorite food, bar none! I was so disappointed to miss the beginning of Florida strawberry season when we visited my sister in January.

Looks good! Pretty card too! If you want a good book to read try Lilac Girls
or Where the Crawdads Sing. I think the two I mentioned on my blog maybe a little too much for you. Have a great weekend!

I love milkshakes and have one about 3 times a week. Sometimes even for breakfast. I lost a lot of weight when going thru losing Mr. Sweet...so have been trying to gain some back. Doing pretty good at it, too. Just don't wanna go overboard on it.
Love what you are working on right now. I am cleaning and decluttering all my rooms and it's a mess...taking books and etc out of bookshelves, dusting everything, giving some away....*heavy sigh....
I can't even imagine that ice cream having an R on it...guess you took it right back to the store....
Have a great weekend...xoxo

I so look forward to eating foods in season here, I am going to try and grow my own things that shouldn't have pesticides like lettuce and spinach. Your butterflies are just beautiful, your coloring of them is terrific!

That's a sweet card that you made with your watercolor markers, Lavender Dream. :-) I'm looking forward to strawberries, which for us starts in May/June. I've discovered that they keep their flavor quite well when frozen.
