"Old Fashioned Florida"

We see lots of  'old timey' things here in Florida!

These golfers were right behind my house playing a round of golf in their old fashioned golf attire!

I guess they were okay with me running out the back door to take pics! lol I've added a few of the airplanes we've seen lately. Flying small aircraft is very popular here!

And we are enjoying so many Spring sights on our hikes. There's a Common Buckeye in these photos and a huge bloom on the prickly thistle! The long leafed pine is putting out new sprouts too!

Are you seeing signs of Spring where you live too?

I’m joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE
and Cooking and Crafting with J&J HERE.

lots of small craft in the air and each time one flies over I wait to see if it will crash on the house. lots of them are falling out of the sky in Florida. we need water for spring to appear, the birds are making nests, that is a sign. I love the resurrection fern in that old tree in the first photo. not to fond of the old golf wear though.

We get lots of small airplanes on the beach here too. There is quite a club of those I think. Lots of spring going on here too. I just want to be outside!!!! Household chores are on hold:)

WE are seeing signs of spring but it will be a while before we see Common Buckeye. Mourning Cloak should appear any time now, however.

No signs of spring except mud, but I am glad that you are seeing spring all over. I love vintage anything...so cool! My son is thrilled to be home where the traffic is nothing. Traffic was the “worst thing” about Florida. The best thing? Warmer temps.

Very little signs of Spring here, but is coming we can be certain of that. 🌷
We had snow over the weekend, but nothing much to speak of.

I love the old vintage theme, just have been quite a fun day for those golfers.

Your photos are magnificent!

Lovely spring photos, sweetie! There is spring in Greece too and I love all the blooming flowers here. Kisses!

Lovely photo of the golfer. Not living in FL year round, I don't appreciate all the signs of spring there, though I have been there in spring. It seems more subtle there, but you with your good eye and camera, have given us some spring beauty today!

Beautiful Spring mosaic! And the golf pic could have been taken decades and decades ago! I wonder what the occasion was? Such a fun post ....and nice captures of the “flight shots” by the way!

I wonder how the golfers felt about wearing the old-time attire. They do look different from modern golfers. They probably laughed when you ran out to take a photo! Beautiful sights from your corner of the world, Diane. Have a great week!

Hello, love the golfer and all the airplanes. The buckeye and flowers are beautiful. We are just starting to see signs of spring, the daffies are blooming. Enjoy your day! Have a happy new week!

Hi, Love seeing your gorgeous weather and green grass down there this time of year. We finally do have a little Spring here --but since March has been colder here than February was, our poor plants and flowers don't know what to do!!!!! ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Happy Spring, Diane! Spring is trying hard to show its face here, Diane. My daughter has crocuses growing at her house, but I still have some snow on my lawn and garden area.
I remember my father wearing knickers when he golfed. My husband wore shorts at times or khaki pants when it was a business golf outing....never knickers...lol!

I had some of those pants but they were wool and very warm.

Howdy my friend, I've been swamped!!--so sorry I havent' been commenting, I am trying to catch up today!!---HOPEFULLY. LOL Loved seeing that loggerhead bird on the previous post, I have never seen one and don't know anything about those. And those horses on the trail......so fun to come upon those, they are so pretty. Seems to be alot of riders around there, on those trails. Love today's post too....the golfers in their stylish old fashioned garb......fun!! I like how you get airplane pictures too.....i usually MISS!! ha ha LOl....very hard to focus and then bam!---the plane is gone, ha ha. I love your pretty collages. Have you been to look at the alligators lately? It will soon be mating season for them here. Sometimes they get crazy....confused......and get on people's porches etc--I'm sure you know how that is, living in Florida, LOL.

I enjoyed your ole timey pictures. How wonderful to step outside your door and see so many old fashioned things. When we lived in Pensacola in 1971, there were always small planes flying around the town flying banners to advertise something. It was so cool!

Spring is slow to arrive here in Connecticut - at least the snow of two days ago is gone. Today in the low 50's.. which feels like almost summer! LOL... I didn't realize you live in a golf course community! That tree with the moss is gorgeous!!

28 degrees this morning with frost covering everything. Once the sun comes out, it gets warm. The first calf was born next door. Painted Lady butterflies are supposed to be migrating through our town, but I haven't seen any here. Baby groundsquirrels are playing in my yard.

Love your mosaics.

Yes, here in the UK we are having some very nice spring-like weather :)

Enjoy your week.

All the best Jan

What a beautiful bloom on the thistle. The only sign of spring I've seen are a few green starts of daffodils and Robins.
It may take a while to get here but spring and summer are beautiful here.
Doesn't get real hot here in the woods.

Diane - was there some special "throw-back" day going on at the golf course, or do some of them always dress like that? Lovely spring sights around your place. Today I saw the first pair of mountain bluebirds down by the lake, and I also spotted a tree swallow at my neighbor's house. But not much in the way of new plant life! Thanks for linking up to Mosaic Monday!

These past few days have been glorious! Those golfers are so cute in their vintage costumes! Great capture!! So are those butterflies a great capture!! Lovely, as always!

At first I was thinking all those planes were real ones. But then I thought they must be the remote control type.
Springtime is looking good in your neck of the woods

Yay for Spring the world over. That thistle is rather impressive! Yes, I've been enjoying a quick bit of Spring in the UK as its getting unbearably hot in Bangkok at the mo!

Oh yes, signs of spring have been everywhere, here in northwest Indiana, since March 1st. Many of them are subtle but still there. Most folks in our area judge spring's arrival ONLY by the temperature outside. What a lot they're missing when they do that. :) Your pictures are absolutely beautiful.... and thank you for brightening up my world with them. Love, Andrea xoxo

One winter many years ago we flew commercial to Florida and rented an airplane to fly out to the Bahamas and then explore the state. That was a great trip. It was Christmas time so things were still decorated and the humidity wasn't too bad. - Margy

What fun to see those vintage golf outfits--love the argyle socks and color combinations. Looks like a beautiful spring in Florida! At least we are having quite a bit of sun here in Pennsylvania (for a change!).

We are seeing and hearing bits of spring and looking forward to lots of greenery once the snow fringes melt due to all the water. But then again, it's going to snow a bit more before Mother Nature lets us enjoy the weather. I love the Prickly Thistle and its color and full bloom.
That golfer is hilarious and is that a huge ball or an optical illusion, it looks the size of a whiffle ball. You must have wondered what was going on when you saw those planes too.

Diane, I wanted to thank you for your beautiful card and ribbons. It did my heart good to receive them! xo

Too cute to see the vintage outfits. Would your husband wear that? I don't think mine would - though I'd like to see him in it!

Such a beautiful purple that prickly thistle is.

Old-timey aircraft, too. Every so often we see them flying above us. Just before I came to your blog, the Husband was pretending to be an old-timey guy talking about what once was. lol The purple thistle photos make me smile.

Nope, no spring signs here in Nashua, NH yet. We are just now getting rid of snow and ice and there are many dirty snow piles in some parking lots. I enjoyed seeing the golfers in the old-time apparel.

Hello Diane,
Wow, that thistle bloom is amazing! Gorgeous color! Speaking of aircraft, we were just talking about a helicopter that flew so close to the roof of my house that my shelf full of tea cups rattled and the whole house vibrated! Yikes! The golfer seems not to care that you are photographing him in his old attire! LOL! Hope all is going well! xx Linda

I always love seeing your pics, Diane. Yes, Spring has arrived in Texas, and I've enjoyed being outdoors and having my lunch on the patio. I also read some of your previous posts on your hikes and your cards that you received. You are blessed.

Sadly, no real signs of spring here yet, but the snow IS going down, so there's hope. Enjoy seeing all the spring signs where you are... :)
