We've done some longer hikes lately to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
Also they are doing 'control burns' on many of the Florida Trails this month. It's good for the overall health and safety of the forest so I won't complain (well, not much).
Blue Run Park has so many wildflowers blooming right now and these Spiderworts are especially pretty.
I love the colors and may try to paint some this week. I'm still having fun with the watercolor markers. And I will mention that if you use them, be sure to get watercolor paper! It makes ALL the difference! I know...I tried them on cardstock and it didn't work well at all!
Are you doing something creative this week? Let me know!
The palms looked beautiful reflected in the water. It's harder to 'see through' the foliage to get good photos but still our favorite place to walk at least once a week!

this time of year we tend to only walk early morning or late afternoon, and mostly where there is shade if we can. Now that autumn is on its way perhaps I will get out more often. Have a fabulous week, and thank you for visiting my blog 2 weeks ago. Sorry I have been so slow in the return visit, life has been very busy!
Love the reflection photo!
Thanks for your visit and comment on my blog. The lighter colored Towhee you saw was most likely the female. They are not as dark as the male.
Have a great week!
...beautiful sights as I look out my window at fresh snow from over night.
Love those palms.. wish I could paint flowers, these are lovely and worthy of painting a few like them. I have never conceived a great thought while walking, mine all come to me while doing makeup and hair, early in the morning. or while I am sleeping, I wake up and POP there is the great thought. I even have a tablet/pen by the bed to write them down because they don't stay in my head long.
Your little nook of this world looks so delightful! This week, I'm being crafty by sewing on buttons to an 1860's dress. By hand.

Yes those controlled burns are good....one reason California has so many devastating wild fires is they do not allow controlled burns there.( Being the daughter of an old US Forest Service employee....I learned a lot about those things.)
You do have a wonderful range of walks, all very appealing and I am sure, unique.
Awesome photos. We can see grass poking through the snow here and there. ^^
Hello,
Another great hike and beautiful spot. The reflection photos are beautiful. I love the palm trees. The Spiderwort blooms are pretty. Lovely post and mosaics. Enjoy your day, have a happy week ahead.
You live in a beautiful place!
Those Purple Spiderworts are so pretty, and it's cool how they're a light Purple and the edges are darker. The palms picture looks so green and lush, like an enchanted forest. I'm glad you've had warm weather for your walks, Diane. It's been warm lately too, but I hear there's more rain this week and into the weekend.
love, ~Sheri
ps.....I saw your watercolor markers. What a great idea for the backgrounds of your cards. I'm not an artist either, but I should try these. They seem so much easier in the form of a marker. Be sure to show us all your creativeness when using them. : )
Another beautiful hike with stunning photos. It always a pleasure to see the results of your hike.
Have a wonderful day and new week!
Great set of photos. I especially like seeing the Spring flowers.
Love your beautiful nature photos! It must be wonderful to be able to get out and hike at any time of year living in Florida...
Joe's client, on the farm, is doing controlled burns now. Kind of scary but necessary for the health of the land. I always love your amazing photos.
I love that tree photo--the first one in the upper left hand corner--
it looks like a pinwheel--and such a pretty shade of green--
I watched 2 chipmunks chasing each other this morning--they are really a pretty critter in their color and markings--
luv, di
I always hate to see the burns as well, even though in the long term it is better for the land. Gorgeous pictures you captured though of the beautiful blooms. Definitely watercolor paper is the way to go when using those watercolor pencils. I would love to see some of the images you make :) You always share such gorgeous pictures, so lovely to see the beautiful world you live in :)
A wonderful collection of photos and mosaics from your walk! Hope your week is starting well.
Beautiful photos. I especailly like the spiderworts. They are so pretty
My grand daughter is on spring break so we will probably be
break so we will probably spend a day or two together. Love your photos!
So nice to see all the pretty spring flowers.
Beautiful pictures.
Spiderwort is such a nice color. I used to have some in my garden but it got choked out. I can see why you’d have ambivalent feelings about the maintainence going on. I feel that way about the road maintainence that goes on all summer, every summer here in my corner. Here you are in the prime season for being out of doors and hiking and there they go taking care of the trails. Hopefully, they’ll get it finished up and things will be the better for it. I’ll try to remember that in construction season.
Creative projects? Not really. My sewing machine is still in the hospital or I might be.
Diane - hubby and I were just talking about hiking - with Daylight Savings Time, it is so light that it fools us into thinking it's summer and we can just go out for a walk around the neighborhood - NOT! Still lots of snow everywhere. But I am definitely getting the itch, and I'm ready to see some delicate wildflowers! For now, I will have to live vicariously through you. Thanks for sharing your sunny photos with all of us at Mosaic Monday.
It's nice to be switching from winter weather to spring flower posts. - Margy
Oh, those blue flowers...
We just got back from Florida I took lots of pictures of flowers as we came back to snow.

How nice to see all of the spring flowers!
Your hike is always exciting,Diana.
Such beautiful woods. You are lucky to live there.
oh diane, you really take the best walks, there is so much variety in what you see and share. i really like the spiderworts, they are so pretty...but all wildflowers are. they have a uniqueness that other flowers don't have!! your mosaic is beautiful.....
i don't like controlled burns, the after look and the smell...they are doing them here in new jersey right now too!! i always worry about the wildlife, i'm sure they are burning birds nests too!!!!
What great photos.
I especially love the spring flowers, they are really amazing.
Best regards, Irma
I LOVE the second to last photo :-) very unique.
I think I"d spend less time in the warm water pool and more time walking outside if things looked here as they do by you. Very inspiring photos, LD.
That's what I remember about Florida, it all looks so lush, green and tropical. And then there's the wildlife. Gorgeous photos and your flowers are always pretty.
I am so pleased to learn that you have got your old blog back again, and what a delight it is. Also thank you for visiting my blog too.
I don't know the spiderwort, how pretty! Blue Run Park looks a lovely place to visit!

I enjoyed the blooms, Diane. Happy first day of spring.

I do love that first flower, blue and white so pretty! All your photos are an awesome way to remember the walk.
I am so ready for nice long walk in the park :) I've missed it so much. With PT I have learned a few stretches that really help my back and I'm now able to get out and about a bit. It's going to be a while to get back up to where I was, but I'm determined! I love the wildflowers, so pretty!
Your first day of spring looks so much prettier than mine. The rains that are coming tonight should waken up the grass. I love the wild flowers in the spring of the year. Your pictures are lovely.
Oh wow that looks like a wonderful place to walk, so neat to see plants that aren't in our part of the states.
Your lovely photos have really perked up my spirits. We got some bad health news this week and fixing my mind on your plants and crafts lifted me up. Thanks for sharing with us.
Wonderful photographs you've shared, especially the reflection one.
All the best Jan
Diane, how lucky for you to get out and take those wonderful hikes and look at such pretty nature. These photos would make a beautiful watercolor photo. Have fun hiking and enjoy your weekend.
Thanks too for sharing at our Cooking and Crafting with J & J. :)
