What do you see in Florida in September?

You can look at the last few posts and take a WILD guess!

Butterflies!

And Wildflowers!

I'm not sure I remember seeing SO many butterflies at this time of year in the past.

But we have lots of different varieties right now.

I probably look like a crazy woman out on the trails, trying to hike and chase butterflies at the same time.

I've seen some beautiful birds and even some wildlife lately but the butterflies steal the show....

at least for this post!

We haven't had a big change in the weather but it does seem hopeful!

These were all taken on Hike #101 on the Florida Trails.

And of all things! I'm a butterfly whisperer too! (Debbie will be proud!) This is probably a little moth but it was funny when hubby said "STOP...STAND STILL!" I didn't know what was going on! But there it was...right on my old pink cap!

Has your weather improved this week?

Any signs of Fall where you live?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

until this year, this is the time of year I would stand out by the pool and wait for the red admiral to come and sit on me, on my arm, my gown, was the place of choice.. the tiny feet feel like light kisses. butterfly kisses. they love white, bob's hair was a faorite to light, this year we have had very few butterflies

Hi Diane, wow you got some great shots of those pretty butterflies. I love that one landed on your hat and hubby took that photo.
The weather is cool and rainy here today. It's a great day for me to work on a crochet project I'm making for my daughter.
Have a great day and weekend.

You captured so many different ones and they are all so beautiful! I had to giggle imagining someone watching you chase them around for photos lol. Come on fall weather, we are waiting!

awwww, you ARE a butterfly whisper too. i am happy to share the title with you!!

you have an awesome variety of butterflies there, it felt a bit like a butterfly house. some i know, some i do not!! the buckeye, 3rd from the last was my favorite, those i see here. right now, our weather is about the same and quite summer like. there are signs of fall everywhere, primarily, leaves all over my lawn...it's been a dry summer...but i water, so i'm not sure what that is all about!! have a great day!!

Muggy and warm 80s today, but cooling for tomorrow. I am cleaning out the garage, but only lasted an hour this morning before it was too miserable to keep going.

That little whatever thinks you're a big flower. Beautiful captures of the butterflies (maybe a moth or two). My favorite is the one with "eyes."

well, I thought I'd be different & join Throwback Thursday on how I got the name Anmi (teary, tissue material) on my blog today. so, I must say I really enjoyed these beauties! AND the cap joy rider!

Oh my word! your photos are magnificent. Print the one with the white flowers and butterfly on fabric and make a lovely piece of art. Better yet I should get out my watercolors and paint it.

Beautiful butterflies!
Your hat looks rather stylish. Your new banner is gorgeous.
Weather here is mild late summer with rain in the forecast. There is a bit of chill somtimes reminding us of autumn, but overall, it is still summer. Thursday is a hide and go seek day of the week, errands to do, but the weekend so close.

What beautiful butterfly (and moth) photos. We didn't seem to have as many this year, so I'm really enjoying all of your different ones. Thank you so much for sharing. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

I love all the beautiful butterflies on this blog! I see one or two here, once in a while, but never as lovely as these!! Have a blessed day tomorrow--a day of memories of 2001. Love, Aunt Helen

Butterflies.... one of God's most beautiful creations.

Yes, the weather is changing into autumn here in northern-most Indiana. The nights are VERY cool and the days are cooler too. The various plants in my yard are dying back, getting ready for their snow-covered sleep. I welcome the cooler weather as heat is definitely not my thing. *haha*

Love, Andrea xoxo

Hi,
Oh, the photos are lovely.
We had our first frost last night. I covered everything in the garden that I wanted to save. We will have another frost tonight. It is a bit early for frost. I am happy to see "normal" September temps will be back for the weekend and into next week.

Butterflies are all so beautiful and you were blessed to have one rest awhile on your head. Interesting, but I thought this summer here was a banner one for butterflies too compared to last summer. You do have delightful hikes!

Oh thank you for the butterfly pictures. When I buried my husband in my family cemetery in California I had second thoughts but then suddenly I was surrounded by butterflies and figured I was doing the right thing. On my way back to Michigan I stopped at a historic site and thought I saw leaves blowing off the trees, when in reality it was the wind blowing thousands of butterflies off the trees, they would swirl around then flutter back. Love your hikes.

Oh so many beautiful different butterflies! Amazing to see the variety that are out there if we have the opportunity to see them. I haven't seen that many here, but I love knowing they are out there, enjoying this changing of the seasons. Of course, we also are seeing another September event...the Lovebugs! Amazing how they show up each years in Sept. and May and then disappear again. I could certainly do without them! Have a blessed weekend.

You have an amazing variety of butterflies, so nicely photographed. We do not have such diversity in our neighborhood. I blame it on the overuse of insecticides. Many people have backyard fogging machines. After all, we live next to the mosquitoes' bountiful homes in the Everglades and the incidental damage to the ecosystem is appalling.

BeachGypsy said...

Girlfriend I am always amazed by how many and the VARIETY of butterflies you get there!! they are so so pretty!! You sure got some great pictures. I've only seen one butterfly lately but Mr. Front Porch says he sees them around the flowers. Hope you had a good week!

Loved your butterfly photos. We are seeing them here too. I am going to miss them when they are gone for the year. It has cooled slightly here. Not quite fall weather, but there is hope :).

So many different kinds of butterflies. They are all so unique in their own way, and beautiful. I think my favorite was that blue and orange one. There is so much detail in that one. It looks like a design was painted on the butterflies wings. Love your Pink cap. ; )
