A Passion for Hiking!

Everyone knows I have a passion for hiking! And this week, we are seeing the Passion Flower in full bloom! It's the funniest thing. The vines don't stand out in the forest but when the big beautiful bloom opens, you can see it here there and everywhere.

We always say that about the cactus. We don't notice how much cactus there is until you look out and see all the yellow blooms. They 'jump' out at you!

It's been perfect weather for hiking this week!

Warm but lower humidity and a nice breeze most days!

(trying to stay away from bugs and bears! lol)

We'll keep going while we are able!

And enjoy the beauty along the way.

We've seen some amazing sights this week.

And just when we think we've 'seen it all', we see something we've never seen before.

Like a hiker on the Florida trails with a guitar on his back.

There he goes! He was headed to Deer Woods at Halpata Tastanaki Preserve. Other photos taken at the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway, HTP, Florida Trails, 49th Ave Trail and Limerock Road. Get out and enjoy the sights!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE

AND my Monday post HERE.

I see the big red jeep is still with you. ha ha. i know you love it. we miss our passion plant, the drought over the past 4 years here has killed it all. the butterflies love it, we are only 100 miles south of you and the rain just will not come here. we are so dry here but you are not.

Diane, the guy with the guitar! Maybe he will serenade the bears? Beautiful flowers. My favorite is the yellow cactus bloom! Thank you for sharing them with us!

Gorgeous photos and I'm so glad the weather has still been nice for your hikes. I can just imagine the man with the guitar finding a quiet spot out in the middle of nature sitting down to play. The passion flowers are my favorite!

That passion flower is a stunner, Diane. Rick would be in that peleton, I think! It looks like a good hike!

Oh I'd like to see the hiker with the guitar playing it.

"Less humidity with cool breezes" sounds like perfection.

I remember Passion flowers that were made of plastic. Fake flowers. I don't think I've ever seen a real one.

Maybe that hiker is going to serenade the gators and the bears! Put them into a deep sleep so that they don't bother him. I love the passionflower vine. We called them Maypops and very much enjoyed their strange green fruits with the bright white interiors.

Diane - without flowers, most plants just look green - we need the color to distinguish. And what color you brought us this week! I think I see some monkey flower in your photos - it is one of my favorites!!! I am so glad you continue your adventures and share them with everyone at Mosaic Monday!

Sudden appear of Passion Flowers here and there must be a pleasant surprise. Common name of plants is interesting. We call it “Tokei-so” meaning “Clock-grass” as the flower looks like a clock face. It’s so nice that weather has been on your side. I always love your beautiful kaleidoscopic mosaic.

The passion flowers are so beautiful. Looks like a beautiful spring. FYI - I lived in Miramar FL for 15 years before we moved to Saudi Arabia.

I love all the beautiful wildflowers, the Passion flower is gorgeous.
It is neat to see a hiker with the guitar, I wonder if he stopped and played somewhere on the trail. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.

That passion flower is so unusual and beautiful. What a wonderful surprise to see a hiker with a guitar on his back. There's nothing like taking a walk in the woods and stopping to play a little music along the way. Such a lovely photo of the yellow flower and the bee.

Happy month of May, Diane.

What on earth do you think he was planning to make it worth carrying that guitar on the trail? Wild. But pretty in the picture! Passion flowers definitely get your attention! The yellow cactus flowers are pretty.

Passionflowers are such amazing things! Gorgeous photo. Perhaps the hiker liked to make music in the wild. There's always something new to discover!

I always LOVE your posts. I like the idea of the guitarist getting inspiration from nature to write a few songs. I like what you did to the last photo of the guitarist. :-)
Happy Mother's Day my friend.

In Nashville, hitchhikers with guitars on their backs are often seen on the side of the road.
