HOP IN! Maybe we'll meet an artist on the trail!

We hiked the Halpata Tastanaki Trail at the Pruitt trailhead last week and met a well known local artist.

We've seen him before and spoken to him but this time I asked if he had art displayed locally. And he does!

Meet John Romaine. His facebook page is HERE.

I took a photo of the huge live oak tree nearby but he may have been drawing the one across the trail.

It's a beautiful place to set up your easel and spend some time.

We've had some good hikes lately and enjoyed our time outdoors.

(Mississippi Kite, Swallowtail Kite, Cattle Egret, Hawk)

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday weekend!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Also I like Thursdays HERE.

What a fabulous post! The last picture is gorgeous, such a clever mosaic. How nice that you met the painter. The oak is magnificent, I wonder how old it is. I've said it before, you have some great trees in Florida, something I would not have known until I met you. So glad to see that you're enjoying your Jeep. Have a nice Memorial Day.

Oh my gosh those flight shots -- so beautiful and I am so envious of your ability! (And for that matter I even envy the sightings -- but with any luck I'll be back to Florida next year) Love the florida mosaic and too it is really neat to get to meet and talk with the artist.

I would have liked to spend time watching the artist, if he didn't mind of course. I think those BIFs (birds in flight) are great against the blue sky. A wonderful tree too Diane.

I am so envious of all your trails. I am a bit leery about hiking by myself, so mainly stay close to home. xo Laura

My Memorial Day was different. We went to a cookout and almost froze! It was cold. Florida is looking better and better to this "northern" Tennessee girl.
