It still amazes me that we can go out into the wild and see so many amazing things.
We were fortunate to see this Longspurred Mint, Dicerandra Cornutissima on the Florida trails this week. It was between the 49th Ave trailhead and the Landbridge Trailhead.
It is endemic to this part of Florida and is listed as endangered. More info HERE.
We've seen it in another area nearby but this is the first time we've seen it on this part of the trail.
And to share one of my favorite things this week....
here's the big pad of Forest Scrapbook paper I bought to work on junk journals.
I've already been cutting the cover page in case it looks a bit 'wonky'!
There are so many beautiful images and it's all a nice weight of cardstock.
I'll use these for bookmarks.
It's enjoyable to put together these journals and then sit down and embellish them later.
I thought I would write some nature quotes on some of the pages.
This is a tag journal 'in progress'.
They are so quick and easy and I love the way they turn out!

that mint is gorgeous, have not heard of it before. the only mint i know is the kind my mother had in her yard. underneath the kitchen window was full of mint that smelled so good when crushed. no flowers though. the new scrapbook is beautiful, so many pretty thing and so much you can do. no creative things for me

What a pretty plant - it looks almost orchid-like. Your papers are so pretty. I did some sewing today - worked on two little stuffed owls for the youngest grandchildren. They just need stuffing and closing now - perhaps I should be doing that instead of reading blogs! ha!

Love the wildflower! I think we have something similar over here in the woods were we walk, but I'm not sure. I will have to take a closer look. Where did you get that beautiful scrapbook paper? I love that! What a beautiful pad of paper for wildlife notes and journaling! Wish I'd had that when we still lived in the woods. So pretty!!!

On my to do list is to make a scarecrow out of a shutter, paint a mural in the rec room in the barn, also embellish a vine wreath for fall, and start making Christmas cards. But instead what has occupied my time at my desk is blogging about Maine. Almost done. Two more posts to write.
