The Red-tailed Hawk and 'friends'!

We see Hawks here on the golf course pretty often.

But this Red-tailed Hawk was a beautiful sighting.

I cropped some of these to look at him up close.

We were standing in our courtyard taking these photos as he perched on a tall pine tree.

I still take a neighborhood walk in the evenings some times.

It doesn't count as a hike but it's a nice chance to walk over to the neighborhood pond and see what's there.

A family of ducks was swimming all over the pond.

The young ones weren't that small but you could tell they were a family staying together.

I think a Moorhen sneaked into this photo.

And a Great White Egret was across the pond.

Do you have plans to get outside this weekend?

I hope the weather improves soon so that we can get out more.

It's been very warm and humid this week!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Such beautiful photos! We see all sorts of water birds on our lake here at the condo. I took a walk on the beach yesterday. If I get out early in the morning it is lovely.

That is one handsome Hawk and I love the one of him in the air with his wings bent simply gorgeous photo! And I love the pond with the sun shining on it and that's right there in your yard how wonderful. We've been having rain everyday it's making the jungle grow and we're having to battle it while we both feel bad

I am definitely going out and about a bit today. But I have a sick pup who will be back from the vet so I can't go for very long. Just to Mass and maybe back to the Rio Grande for a quick walk in the riverbed. I love your photos. Those hawks are incredible. They look so fierce.

Hawks do have a majestic vibe!!!!

Lovely neighborhood to walk in.

Ours is nice too, but the streets have way too much traffic to feel safe. We have to veer off, on an alley kind of a street.

The hawk is just beautiful. It is raining here but it is supposed to cool a bit by the end of next week. I am so excited. Outside time again.

What fabulous images, especially of the hawk! We have them here in our neighborhood, too, and My Honey has gotten some excellent images of them. Thanks for visiting my blog. It gave me the opportunity to find your lovely blog. All the best from the South Coast of Ohio. ;)

Great shots of the Red-tailed Hawk. In my experience they are skittish and difficult to approach to photograph, so I think you did exceptionally well.

The shots of the hawk in flight are wonderful!

I am getting so old and lazy that I would now consider your neighborhood walk a good hike! (It has been so hot and smoky here for so long that we haven't really been able to get much outdoor exercise, hopefull I will not have forgotten how to walk when we can do so again ))).

The hawk is so proud looking! I like raptors.

What beautiful photos of the red-tailed hawk! Evening walks are lovely, and we often take them. I think a walk in the evening helps me to sleep better, as well. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Really enjoyed the close up shots of the red tailed hawk. It's still been fairly hot and humid here, I do need to make more of an effort to get outside though. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Hello again Diane, You were doubtful as to the name of the bird I posted. Just came to tell you that it is a Kestrel, not a Sparrowhawk. Thanks to two well informed bloggers who gave me the correct ID.

Woke to temps in the low 50s this morning. Only going up to 70. I'll be in the garden planting my new flower beds. We got caught in a down our yesterday so didn't get it all done.

Beautiful photos of the hawk and scenery. Nice to watch the ducks swimming in the lake. We are having a mixture of sunny and rainy days. Mostly staying home because of the many covid cases in and around us.
