Santos Trailhead

We drove over to the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway to hike from the Santos Trailhead last week. It's not far from where we live and very popular with cyclists. Lots of paved trails and off road trails as well.

We walked on the paved trail for awhile and then took off through the woods.

It was a beautiful day in the 70s with low humidity!

There were big beautiful Live Oak trees and even one with brilliant yellow leaves.

It's a great place to spend the day!

There's even a campground right next to it and bike shops across the street. A really neat trailhead that we'll be anxious to go back and explore again soon.

I've chosen my 'word' for 2022!

Positivity!

“The practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude.” Quote HERE.

"That’s right. Positivity is a practice, not something you’re born with. Just like running or learning the guitar, positivity is a skill you get better at the more you do it. What's more, scientists are now learning that the power of positive thinking is more than just a buzzword – it can actually rewire our brains to rewrite trauma and overcome negative thinking patterns."

I'm generally a very optimistic person with a sunny disposition. But I have to admit to allowing negativity into my thinking these past couple of years and I've worried way more than I should. So I'm going to start the new year with positivity!

 Positive vibes....sounds good, doesn't it?

Have you chosen a word to set your course for this new year?

I would love to know what it is!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

I love the word Positivity. Like you, I am mostly an optimistic person and I try really hard to always look on the bright side of things. However, these past few years have surely kept me in the Word, praying and really having to TALK TO MYSELF a lot about attitude and worry! Love it that you have so many trails you can walk along. Happy New Year to you and God bless. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

That is the olde Florida I know and love!!!!
Positivity is a great word. I, too, have always been a very optimistic/positive person. Sometimes it has been hard to maintain that they last couple of years. Praying you along the Positivity Path! xo Diana

I'm an optimist too. We have problems and failures like everyone else, but we pick ourselves up and try again. I'm happy every time the sun comes up. Nice photos you shared today. Thanki you!

Our words are pretty close. I've found negativity more than creeping in and I needed to stop it ASAP. We're on snow watch here, and loved seeing your beautiful warm weather photos. Here's to a happy and especially healthy year ahead.

You have the best trails, paved ones even, would be so great for someone like myself. I don't have a word. I have this thing, I just refuse to be miserable. Which I guess is about the same as positivity. It took many years to get here, but it sure makes for a wonderful old age. Betty White knew it too, of that I'm sure.

Happy and Healthy New Year, Diane! This park looks so lush, tropical, and beautiful.

I like your word for 2022. Mine would be "grateful" as we escaped a recent tragedy

I am still thinking about what word to use as a keyword for 2022. Maybe it should be "procrastination" since I am taking so long! ha ha. I love that lacy leaf photo especially. Winter was one of my most favorite times of the year when I lived in Destin.

Hello,
Another pretty spot for a hike, love the photos. The tropical vegetation is beautiful. Positivity is a good word. I try to stay positive, sometimes it is hard. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great new week!

Love that you have found so many wonderful trails to explore in our beautiful central Florida area! Thank you for sharing them with us. I would love to be able to do more hiking, but hubby is not as "into it" as I would like to be, even though we do take walks every day, just in the same place because we feel safe and comfortable there. I love your word positivity. I actually thought about that one too, but ended up with "Delight", which is also a very positive word for 2022. When we think positively about things, we often are filled with delight! There is so much beauty around us to enjoy! Happy New Year!

What a great looking place for a hike.
Positivity is a great word for the year. I'm a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. I have found that the older I get the easier it is to think positive thoughts.

As long as positivity doesn't morph into casting an unrealistic shine on everything it's a good thing. But some things in life are just plain negative. I watched a family on television recently that lost everything in recent floods, and I suspect they might bludgeon you if you told them to look on the bright side and be positive!

I applaud you! This doesn't mean we will not have a negative thought, but we won't wallow in it and nurture it and take it to dinner! To feel the emotions we're feeling and then get back to making a better day. Thank you

Wonderful word! We all need to not let "things" influence us, as much as they can.

Pretty!! Down in my neck of the woods they are evergreen. Looks like a perfect day to be hiking. Love your "word" chosen

I'm back from my holiday break and shared photos of means my sister making our first ever gingerbread house.

Beautiful place to hike. You and your husband positively live a healthy lifestyle! You do seem like a very positive person and the type of person I would enjoy as a friend. So many people get grumpy the older they get. I think you are correct, we all need to work not to let that happen.

I think my word for the year would be excited. I hope I can get excited about life, not just the big things but the little unnoticed things.
Stay healthy…and positive 🙂Janey

LOVE this post!!!
I am generally a very optimistic person as well.. but I too have let the past two years drain me. Sadly, I let fear get in my system too much.
Thank you for sharing your 2022 word. :-)

Looks like such a marvelous place to walk and with such wonderful temps. It is 21 here so anything above freezing sounds good to me, LOL!
Great word, I know the last couple of years I have let more negative thoughts get in the way and I could use to be more positive.
I don't have a word of the year myself, maybe I should start :)

That's really a terrific area!

Sandwiched between the Gulf coast and Ocala National Forest. We explore around there quite a bit.

Uplifting photographs!

Positively positive post!

Thank you, Diane, for a great start to the New Year!

Positivity is a good word, Diane. And if more people welcomed this word, the world would be a better place. I like how you leave little yellow duckies everywhere on the trails hehehe. Who doesn't love them?

I also wish for positivity like you, and people used to say that I am optimistic. Perhaps, because I take life from the least and live with whatever is available or accept whatever comes my way with least complain. Likewise, nature is the best place to spend timeless and the trail you took for a hike sounds the same. Lovely capture from the woods!

What a great hiking spot. You do live in the best area for all the hikes you take. I think of you as a positive person, so positivity perfectly suits you.
