Some sights from the Florida backroads!

I shared our adventure driving out to Tsala Apopka Outfall Canal a couple of days ago but of course I saved a few photos for Mosaic Monday.

OK....does everyone remember that I do NOT recommend you drive out there? It is too rough and there are easier places to visit with birds and critters.

But...having said that!

How about these goats?

I'm not sure what breed they are but they sure don't look like any goats I've ever seen.

When I did a search I found a Spanish breed of goats and they could possibly be that.

There were some ranches out there and other neat things but we had to keep moving and missed some photo ops.

A chicken mailbox, saddle on a hitching post and an old timey tractor.

And remember the other thing I mentioned...
we are NOT going back out there! heeheehee!

Plastic flowers (6 ft tall), no trespassing sign, horse training jumps

Have you ever driven somewhere 'out of the way' and was very glad to be 'out' and on the way home?

It doesn't happen to me very often but it did this time.

Of course we're already looking at maps and planning our next adventure!

Stay CALM and HOLD ON!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

oh nooooo on the plastic flowers, but I could not tell if you did not tell us. my mother loved all plastic flowers, her home and yard were filled with them. I am not fond of plastic flowers

I think the goats are very unique and worth seeing.

That warning! 😳 From pictures, it doesn't look too scary. If you didn't tell me that those are fake flowers, I'd never have known. They looked impressive to me. As for the goats, I'd never turn my back on them. 😉

hehehehe, i tried to think of an "out of the way place, that i was happy to leave...i could not think of one". now i will be trying to think of one all day long!!

nice images, beautiful mosaics. i really like the "holder of the flowers" but i'm not wild about putting plastic flowers outdoors. it would look pretty with some greenery and some real flowers!!!

the goats are adorable, we are on a goat trend now aren't we??

I love everything in this post of yours, as usual, dear Diane, but the goats, they are truly wonderful, they're all so curious!
But what a sadness to use plastic flowers :(
Wishing you a most lovely new week

Hello,

Love the goats, they are different looking. I like the cute chicken mailbox.
There have been times, when I was happy to return to a normal paved road.

Take care, enjoy your day and your week ahead.

Thank you for the warning about not taking this road...if it was bad for you in a Jeep, I can only imagine how bad it would be for us in a regular SUV! I don't know where this place is anyway, so most likely we won't be going there, and definitely not where the "No Trespassing" sign was! LOL. The plastic flower arrangement was pretty from a distance! Those goats are amazing!! Long horns! LOL. All in all a lovely post, in spite of the bad road!!

I am known for taking my husband on an "adventure", especially when he is driving! Glad you enjoyed your day out and glad you were happy to return home :)

I love seeing those goats Diane. I can't believe that no trespassing sign! Thanks for the blog visit and I hope you have a nice week Diane.

Those goats are really something. That would make the trip worth it for me.

Those goats are so unique with their curving horns. You know, Diane, I don't think you should out that way anymore. I've heard the roads are pretty rough. heehee

Catching up on your last couple of posts.

Terrific series of photographs! A true travelogue for the "Real Florida"!

What's wrong with that road? Looks like one we would head straight for just to see what we could see. We're weird like that.

Politically correct description: "Unimproved Road".

Thank you for sharing the sights!

Those are investing goats!

You'll never know what you'll see unless you go look!

Wonderful photos! Being on the backroads is the best way to travel I think.

What an odd place. Six foot high plastic flowers?? Cute goats, though. Chicken butt mailbox! 🤣 Glad you survived, Diane!

Diane - the horns (antlers?) on those goats are pretty wild! But the plastic flowers are scariest of all! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

If I had a dollar for every out-of-way spot I have visited, in many countries, my bank account would swell appreciably. I have never regretted doing it either.

Those goats are beautiful. The horns on the one in the first picture are amazing. I love that you are brave enough to go into places like this because that's where you find some true country treasures and characters. We have places like that here too, in the canyon, where you are not welcome and may be greeted by some old dude with shotgun. It has happened to me.

Son bonitas las cabras, tenemos parecidas por aquí. Las flores de plástico no me gustan. Nosotros solemos ir por caminos así, a veces subimos montañas, a mi marido le encanta, yo tengo un poquito de miedo. Besos.

I learned something new about goats from you. I must share with our son Jeremy. He loves goats. He is so silly. Those horns look dangerous. My daughter Rebekah and I took a wrong turn in Boulder County. Don't let anyone tell you how peace loving the crunchy granola set are. They had Bernie Sanders signs everywhere and signs will prosecute violators trespassing. We could not get out of there fast enough. The view sure was not worth the hassle. Plus it creeped me out, kinda like the Stepford Wives. hahaha
My mom had some plastic flowers in a planet between the kitchen and living room. It was so dudty, dad finished it into a solid shelf and she liked it so much better. Ah...the 60's.

I have never seen such big horns on goats. The chicken mailbox makes me smile.

I wouldn't want to be butted by those goats! Ouch!

It looks like you wandered into the Florida version of a holler! Yep, get out of there, they ain't friendly-like! But interesting photos of the sights nonetheless!

I had to smile about the road trip... we've been on a few of those, where things didn't quite pan out the way you were hoping, and the water views were not terribly impressive... however you did manage to find lots of interesting things to share! Those goat horns were impressive for sure... loved the chicken mailbox, and old tractor. :)

Unique goats
Glad to be back out of a place, yes indeedy! More than once. It is the greatest feeling to get back to civilization when that happens..Leaving a ghost town after dark was one.

Hello Diane, :=) You do see the most unexpected things in these out of the way bumpy roads. The goats are beautiful, if you are a goat lover like me. Portugal has lots of goats and goat herders. We eat goat at Easter, it's a traditional meal. What I didn't like was that scary NO Trespassing sign! But The chicken mailbox was fun.

When I lived in Kentucky I drove to some places where I could have sworn I heard banjos playing. I was always happy to get out of those places and head back to civilization. I do love those goats. xo Laura

I drove the old gold camp road to Cripple Creek once and it was beautufl but terrifying! I later learned it's called Phantom of the Canyon Road.....
So, do the people that live at that 'never going back' neighborhood have as much trouble getting in and out as you did??

Girl, I had to chuckle! We too have had a few road trips that we thought, "Never again". LOL! Love the chicken mailbox. Too cute. But I do love your adventurous self! You always have so much fun. My kind of gal. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

There are two kinds of adventures: the ones where you can't wait to go back (or you put it on your "Hope I can again some day" list and then the other kind like this one was for you. But I am always glad we didn't miss the second kind (once only though!) . .... those goats are certainly different!

I remember a friend of mine telling me about her dad who watered her plastic flowers every day on his visit, and she was so shocked when she saw them overflowing :) Great photos! The horns on those sheep are amazing!

Wow, those goats with THE BIG HORNS! I just never KNOW WHAT you are going to take us to see, Diane! haha LOL. Y'all have been having some back road adventures for sure, those are always fun! We go on some here too. Gotta be careful tho....never know if you've accidentally got onto somebody's private property and they might have shotguns...ha ha!! It's been nice and warm here, today we had to turn the air on the house got so hot and I was baking biscuits. Nope, not homemade this time, just canned, but THEY WERE GOOD! LOL Happy weekend, any adventures planned? Hugs!

Well, since you are complaining about potholes, I going to join your complaint party and add that I don't like the six-foot plastic flowers. Once, I stuck a silk flower in my garden and it looked pretty. While I was admiring my creativity and artistic expression, I noticed a confused and then disappointed bee looking for pollen. He walked around and around in circles for a long time. The fake flower went in the trash can.
