"Traveling on"

Oh no....I'm not going anywhere yet but I can dream, can't I?

Withlacoochee Bay Trail

We are happy to be in Florida where we can see so much by taking day trips.

People fishing in the Gulf, catching a Sting Ray

It's been a great place to be these past few years and given us so much to enjoy and share.

I thought someone really important had shown up at Blue Run Park this week.

But when I did a search, I found out this is a special edition motorhome that anyone can buy. Looks like fun, doesn't it?

Hang Gliders over the Florida Trails, Pruitt Trailhead

There's still lots of things I would love to do close to home though.

Well, maybe not this! hahahaha!

And speaking of 'traveling on'! Hundreds of Sandhill Cranes flew over the trail while I was hiking this week. But because of the tall trees, I couldn't see them well enough to photograph them. I could hear them. They make squawking, croaking sounds when they fly.

But hubby was at home working in the yard and ran inside to get his camera and take these photos.

AMAZING!

Are you making traveling plans yet? We sure have a lot of visitors in Florida this month!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday
HERE .

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

Hello,
I would like to travel somewhere, but now we have an obligation to dog sit our grand-dogs. I think I could drive that RV, it is just the right size for me. Neat captures of the hang gliders. I love the photos of the Sandhill Cranes in flight. Happy Valentine's Day. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

Great shot of those cranes! We do have a lot of winter residents here in Naples too. Last winter, most people were not traveling and it was a quite winter. Not this year!

I have friends who have been traveling for throughout the year. Some to Spain, some to Israel, some to Mexico some to Dubai. We have stayed put and plan to stay put. We too are in Florida and feel very fortunate. I am on the beach and feel on vacation every time I look at the ocean . I do see people on the gliders over the ocean from time to time.

I think I've missed my window for hang gliding (zip lining too). I'm glad I can still get outdoors for hiking and photography.

Great post (as usual).

Girl, don't think the hang glider is for me! LOL! Well, it's my birthday month which means a little time away is my gift. So mountain bound next week. But you know, there really is so much to do right here in Florida. There are so many places left un-explored by most of Floridians. I love how you find so many little places to go and hike. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

As much as others in my family have enjoyed visiting Florida, it has never been on my list of must visits. Course, there are precious few places that make the cut. You must not appreciate all the extra folks. (At least, I don't here in July and August. It's a love~hate thing.) A happy Valentine's Day to you and your Beloved. 💕 So glad you're not interested in the 🪁 flying.

I am amazed... and slightly envious... of all the beauty you can find on a day trip, my friend. My Jeep is parked in the garage, trying to keep it safe from all the Pennsylvania snow and ice! Happy Valentine's Day!

That RV is attractive and I would have been fooled by the title on it. Lovely photos today! Happy Valentine's Day!

These are lovely photos. I like the photo with cranes and I can imagine how it was beautiful to see a flock of cranes like this.
Although there are no traveling plans yet, we enjoy our local neighbourhood attractions.
Have a great day!

No travel plans for us, but those Sand Hill Cranes sure must be going somewhere! Are they coming or going? Love seeing all the beautiful sights you see right here in our beloved state of Florida. Why go anywhere else? We've got what everyone else wishes they had!! Hope you had a Happy Valentine's Day!

That was some fancy motor home!!! Bet that cost a pretty penny!
We are going to the ranch tomorrow for 15 days! Only trip I'm thinking about is maybe to Kansas City in September.....

I always love seeing your views of Florida and its wildlife and scenery! Vastly different from my views, but beautiful in its own way, and you capture every scene so well! You would never catch me parachuting... oh I don't like heights, lol! So nice to see all the birds in the skies. Happy Valentine's Day :)

The hang gliders look stunning! No travel plans here yet, in the summer some day trips in the home country. The cranes look great.

I am all green with envy. The waters look all glassy and inviting and the birds are doing a bird wave. Over here we bbq sting rays with chillies and it is delicious. I am not sure if you eat them over there. Paragliding is something I would like to do but I am scared I 'll land in the water under the parachute.

You live in such a nice and warm part of the world and you’ve shared so many with us. Your husband did a good job, capturing Sandhill Cranes in formation. Hang gliding is not my cup of tea, either, but you did enjoy photographing the hang gliders. Have fun.

It's wonderful that you have so many places to go close to home. I'm not much of a traveler but I would love to start taking day trips. Now I just need to talk myself into going alone.

I'm not thrilled with travel, you don't have to to see the stuff you do!
Our kids are thinking of going to Florida during march Break. We shall see.

I'm dreaming, too. HOping for London in 2022. We'll see. Right now I'm not terribly confident.

Amazing photos of the cranes. And I must tell you that if I were young now, I would check out Florida as a place to live. This thanks to your posts, I had no idea about all these wonderful nature trails with so much wildlife. Only thing that would set me back would be the humidity. I couldn't take it in New Jersey when I was young, but still, I would visit Florida for sure.

You are doing a wonderful job of representing nature and wild life in your state.

i wish we were in Florida now! Its so cold here. I don't think I could ever go hang-gliding, but sure wish i had that little van camper!
Thanks for sharing,
Blessings, Joanne

I won't be able to travel until late fall, perhaps early winter, but you can bet I am making plans!!! I'm going stir crazy....I can't be around anyone outside my family and healthcare team until the beginning of April!

I think the cranes are predicting an early spring!

Views while hang gliding must be amazing but I can't find the courage to try.

I had to chuckle at the thought of someone fishing and catching a sting ray. Nice photographs. I visited Florida a few times but think it must be a great place to live.

Diane - as you saw in my post, we have plans to travel to the UK and to Cayman. We are also going to Utah next week for a 7-day getaway. I need a vacation! I am looking forward to the arrival of the sandhill cranes - they usually get here the third week of April! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

I enjoy you being in Florida too. You know there are people that could walk your same trails and not see much. You have a love of nature and a natural curiosity…..Could be why you have so many nice followers!

Hi, Sandhills are one of my favorites, they will be flying back to Wisconsin in a month or so. It is a sign of Spring for us.

The hang gliders are cool to watch. I saw something similar in my old town - he was on a fan powered parachute, a bit different I believe. I'd love to hear the call of the Sandhill Cranes. I'm not seeing too many birds yet, as it's still very cold. That is one big Sting Ray that he caught. Fishing is such a relaxing sport. And the first photo looks so peaceful. I'm glad you are enjoying your day trips, Diane.

Wondering what those red boxes are in your second photo -- crab traps, perhaps?

Great photography, as always, Diana!

Beautiful photos. You do have a great place to roam around in, for day trips. I wish I had moved to Florida when I had the opportunity to.

We have plans to visit Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick in May. As long as the COVID hammer doesn't fall again it should be possible.

Love your pictures and I could say all the same things about Florida (you know, if I could write like you can!). Lots to do in the great outdoors here for sure. There sure *are* a lot of visitors here this year. Maybe since we weren’t here last season it seems worse than ever. (Of course I know I really can’t complain about snowbirds since I are one ).
