A Dream Come True

This may sound silly to some but to those that know me, you’ll totally understand!

IMG_4567

We’ve had a lot of our books in boxes waiting to figure out how to find bookcases that will work or ‘shell out the big bucks’ and have some built.

I found this entertainment center awhile back at the Hospice Thrift Store and blogged about it HERE !

IMG_4566

What a fabulous find! And last weekend….I found the matching bookcases at our favorite furniture store.

IMG_4568

So I spent this weekend doing one of my favorite things…sorting through boxes of old books.

IMG_4569

We now have 6 full size bookcases in this house and several small ones but it doesn’t end there!

I ordered TWO more bookcases (even taller) to go in the ‘library’ here.

IMG_4573

So what’s behind the screen? 10 more boxes of books!

IMG_4574

I’m having the time of my life getting my books out where I can enjoy them.

And if that’s not enough? Adriana Trigiani wrote emails to me this past weekend! I am so very blessed. Her website is HERE .

I’m joining Coastal Charm for

Nifty Thrifty Tuesday,

Brenda at the Cozy Little House

for Tweak it Tuesday.

I’m still rearranging books and ‘tweaking’ my accessories!

Do you love to read AND love to ‘sort’?

Come on over! We’ll have FUN!!!

How fun! I do NOT have any book shelves but have several old ones in the basement I've wanted to re-do for years. Books make a room so warm and homey!

No way! You lucky girl. That looks fantastic. We have books in every closet at this house. There's an area where I want to make a library upstairs. Just have to save the bucks to build shelves or luck on something like you did. :)

How lucky is that... to find matching bookshelves!!!

When I say I am going to sort through my stacks of books, I am afraid I spend too much time browsing through them reliving the plot lines and the characters. My husband and I did do a major overhaul and carted a truckload of books off to a charity sale one year, but those spaces have been filled with more books!

beautiful, I love my books too! That was a lucky find!

What an amazing find! It all looks so nice together. We love books in my house too. One of my dreams is to have a dedicated library with floor to ceiling bookcases filled with my favorite books.

The unit and bookcases are great together! I had a lot of books but donated many before my daughter arrived-- needed the space. Kinda miss some of them.

My hubby and I adore reading and have a big collection of books. Books in print, not ebooks, he he. I like to give books away, or sell them to a local used book store. Our church library accepts donations, thank goodness. You are getting your collection tamed with your handsome new shelves.

You found a perfect entertainment center indeed. That is a lot of books and hard to believe you have more hidden. Enjoy your 4th!~ Hoping for no rain here in the Carolina's. Been a rainy summer so far.

How fun that you found the matching pieces of furniture! As a former University librarian, I have a HUGE weakness for books. My book obsession is now Josie's children's books. Books are wonderful.

What great finds, indeed. I finally had to store many of my beloved books, as I'd run out of bookshelves. I'm dreaming of having some built in my home office, and I'm not giving up hope until it happens. :)

Good Morning Diane, How marvellous, to have found the perfect entertainment centre and then to find two matching bookcases. You sound like you had fun filling the bookshelves with your books.
I love books aswell, and like you I have a lot of books, when I run out of space, they tend to sit on the floor..... I am not as tidy as you are.... I love the idea of using a screen to hide your boxes of books.
I bet you are excited to get your new bookshelves to start organising the rest of your books.
Enjoy your day.
Best Wishes as always,
Daphne

As we are packing, my hubby said, "you sure have a lot of books...do you really need them all?" Well, you understand, I do and wouldn't part with any of them, even though I've read them all. It's going to be a heavy load going across country, but so worth it! XOXO

Hi Diane,

I think it's great that you are displaying your books and taking the time to find just the right space and storage for them. They are to be treasured and you have done a lovely job of that so far. I like the the way you have put together the whole ensemble; kudos!

Happy 4th of July!

I love books too. Glad to see someone else is hanging on to the physical ones, instead of going totally digital. : )

Those book cases are a perfect match to your entertainment centre. It's nice to have your books all in one area on display. Do you play the piano? My hubby does. :) Have a wonderful week and Happy July 4th!

I read books so quickly, I couldn't possibly keep all the ones I've read. Your bookcase set up is lovely. Now have you already read all those, or are they to be read?

I found the best Goodwill bookstore in Sarasota today. That's all they sell. It was heaven. It's located at the corner of Bee Line Ridge and Cattleman Road. I brought home a box of books, of course.
