We drove over to Rainbow Springs State Park one day and got closer to a juvenile Anhinga than we’ve ever been! (probably 10 or 12 feet away!!!)
He kept posing and I kept taking photos!
It was the highlight of our day!
I took this photo of the Rainbow River and cropped it for my banner.
And my new profile pic was taken that day, too!
I discussed profile pics HERE! lol
It’s a beautiful place to visit and the cost? $2 ! You can’t get any better than that! (well, we have annual passes so we get in free!)
I’m joining Beautiful Sunday,
and Amaze me Monday!
Have you ever seen one of these amazing birds?
Can you see his webbed feet?

I remember going to Rainbow Springs when I was a kid! We would visit my grandparents in Bascom (a blink-your-eyes-and-miss-it town almost in Georgia!) every summer and also take a side trip somewhere. The bird is pretty impressive, and I like your banner!
I have not, what an unusual bird! Beautiful spot too!
Never seen this beautiful bird...so thanks for sharing him with us!

Ive never seen a bird like this before.
He's gorgeous and he looks gigantic!
what a beautiful park that is, thank you for sharing these lovely photos:)
Hahaha, he was glad to pose and be blog-worthy! I bet he was drying out his wings. Local parks like that are such treasures. And I love your new header!
A gorgeous park and very impressive bird. I get a lot of mileage out of my annual park pass too.
I've never been to Rainbow Springs. Very cool!

What a neat bird. We don't have those here that I'm aware of. You're more likely to see a mockingbird or hawk...or buzzard here.
No-- never saw one either. How cool! I hadn't noticed its webbed feet until you pointed that out. Very interesting!
his little fuzzy head made me laugh out loud! :)
I have never even heard of this bird. You got a great shoy, cause I could see his webbed feet. That's a good deal getting into the park. xoxo,Susie
wow, he was ready for his close up for certain. Great photos my friend xo
You have some beautiful spots around your for day trips. Right now spots around us are dry and brown from lack of rain.
Oh Diane, your photos are terrific. I never saw or heard of that bird. I think you can do something with those photos of it, get it published. I am going over to check your profile photo link now. Have a great week. xo
A first for me Diane! Thanks for sharing such a marvelous sight!
Such a beautiful world we live into (yet we often spoil it, don't we?!).
Happy Sunday,

I have never heard of an Anhinga - what an incredible bird!
I think it would be fun to get into one of those kayaks and go for a paddle.
Great photo! We used to have some that would hang out on our dock but haven't seen them lately.
Looks like a wonderful trip. I grew up in south Ga and went to some of those springs in FL. I remember the incredibly clear water.
Oh wow! The bird pictures are just awesome!
Hi there namemate! Thank you for forever linking up in my Beautiful Sunday series :)
If I were in your shoes, I would say that this is one of the best ways to spend your $ 2. The entire experience was so worth it! The star was Anhinga never posted any form of shyness :)
Aside from the relaxing environment, I was attracted with the kayak! How I wish I could kayak today. I badly needed that exercise along with a great trip to nature.
Wishing you a great week namemate!
He almost has a Halloween look about him...
