I love finding beautiful linens at the thrift store.
This small quilt is hand quilted!
And I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a tablecloth especially to fit a card table, but isn’t it cute?
I found these silver plated spoons and used a 50 % off coupon I had been saving at Hospice Thrift Store.
They were $12 so that made them $6 (and then I got another discount for being a frequent shopper).
I think they are sugar spoons. I did some research and I’m still not sure. They have a very rounded spoon but they are only 5 1/2 inches long so not really long enough to be a soup or gumbo spoon.
Kim asked a good question, “Do silver plated spoons say silver plated on them? How do you tell the difference?”
On the back of the most narrow part of the spoons are these words stamped, COMMUNITY (a brand), Reed & Barton, Community Silver, GM co---1919. I’m assuming they are silver plated by the way they look. Maybe they are silver. Thanks Kim!
What do you think?
Did you find anything good this week?
I’m joining Ivy and Elephants.
Happy Thrift shopping!

Wow- you have such great luck at the Thrift stores...
Enjoy your day!!
Desrt spoons? I don't know why a silver service would have multiple sugar spoons, it wow what a fine. Love the table cloths. I am always amazed at what you find.
Great finds, Diane! Love the little spoons. Are they for stirring sugar lumps into your coffee? I don't know.
It's always sad to me when people give away hand quilted or hand knitted items. But so glad you found it. You'll give it a good home! :-)
Do silver plated spoons say silver plated on them? How do you tell the difference?
Love the quilt xo
You found some beautiful treasures, Diane! That small quilt is simply lovely!
Have an amazing Wednesday! Hugs to you
Because of the bowl shape, they must be soup spoons. There'd be no reason to have a set of sugar spoons. They may be a bit short, but I was able to find other soup spoons equally as short. I love a good soup spoon and we have our favorites here. Granted, the handles are longer. Good find! I really would love to go shopping with you!
the card table cloth is quite neat!
Hi Diane, you found some pretty treasures. Love the pretty quilt and the card table cover is a great find. The spoons are awesome and just the sort I look for to paint. Great fun you had an got some discounts too.
I did find some treasures last weekend on a junkin trip to redesign for my shoppe.
Have a great day and happy thrifting.
Hugs
I love that card table cloth... I think they call that a bridge cloth but not sure. Isn't sterling silver marked but silverplate is not necessarily marked? Anyway, you made a great buy on the spoons!
I once had one of those little card table cloths. I am guessing it went out with some of my weeding :) you found some nice things . Thrift store shopping will always be a favorite thing of mine. I think I enjoy the hunt more than anything. One just never knows what one might find. Blessings sweet Diane
I think they are soup spoons to find so many at one time. I have silver plated Reed and Barton from 1950's and they have the soup spoon. The chest it came in reads silver-plated but the spoons only have South Seas Community on them.
I love the quilt now that is a treasure.
Afternoon, loving the table cloth, so pretty. Always fun thrift shopping, Francine.
Once again you have found a treasures. Makes you wonder where all these things have traveled before they end up with you. Mid week-- getting ready for the weekend again. It's almost August. Xxoo
I'm always drawn to the linens also and the quilt and the tablecloth are both wonderful! Love the spoons, I agree they might be soup spoons!
hugs,
Linda
What great finds, my friend. Sterling would be marked as such. These are Community plate. Love them. xo Laura
You found some very nice things. I think that table cloth has go to be rare. I have never seen anything like . I love the spoons. Keep up the good thrifting. xoxo,Susie
My first thought on the spoons is that they are for sugar cubes. I have no idea if that's true.
Nice finds! Makes you wonder how these things wind up at a thrift shop! Think of all the work in that quilt!
Lovin' the embroidered card table tablecloth! So neat that the ties go around the legs:@)
Great find.....I actually have some of these and they were purchased as "Chocolate Spoons"....... Mine look a whole lot like these. The stem on mine are about the same length and they are completely rounded.
Hi Diane! You have made some amazing finds again.
Those spoons remind me of some dessert spoons my parents' friends have. I used to spend lots of time at their place when I was a little girl. They would use them for ice-cream, crème dessert, mousse au chocolat ...
The hand quilted small quilt is really adorable.
Take care my friend!
Arlette
By the way, thanks again for your kind words.
Great finds, Diane. I love the bridge table cover, and what a great deal on the spoons. I've never seen a hand-made quilt that I didn't love. You may have had this header for a long time, but if you have, I've never really looked at it. I love it. laurie
Love that card table cloth!
Sterling silver will say "sterling" or have the sterling mark. They also are usually quite heavy compared to a silver plated version. :)
Hope you are enjoying the summer!
Great finds! I love the quilt....Christine
You find the greatest goodies at the thrift shop!! Love the spoons.

What a beautiful quilt you found at the thrift! We never have anything that nice at ours. And your tablecloth is perfect for a game night!
I love your blog header!
I don't know anything about silver if the word "plated" isn't there but love the spoons either way!
Oh wow, I wish I could find a thrift store with those kind of goodies. That Quilt is beautiful, can I send you shopping for me? LOL

ooh . . . I love vintage linens! I think card table linens were actually quite popular with all the bridge parties the ladies used to enjoy. Hand quilting always looks so impressive; that quilt is beautiful.
Diane, I want to pay a visit to your thrift store! I love everything. The quilt is beautiful, the tablecloth is so cute and so unique and OH!!! I love the spoons!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Linda
Sewwhat!
Great finds... and you are a great bargain shopper! I'm curious now about the spoons. Maybe cream soup... the cream soup cups are usually small and look like tea cups but they have two handles. Just a guess. I'll have to do some research, too now!
amazing finds! :)
