What do bloggers love to do most?
(I’m at a winery but don’t say drink! hahaha!)
Take photos!
Hubby surprised me with a new camera for Mother’s Day, the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
Montanagirl mentioned this camera HERE and I might have ‘hinted’ for it.
I still love the tiny Canon S100 but I wanted one that had a more powerful zoom.
This was taken at Sholom Park.
And I needed a better Macro setting for taking flowers and critters.
Debby asked me about my camera when I posted the photo of this woodpecker.
I was about 10 ft away from him and zoomed.
I was across the street from this Red Shouldered Hawk.
It’s been such fun to use and I’m still learning.
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE.

You will love that camera as you already can tell! Sweet of your hubby to take the 'hint'!! I have the Cannon SX40HS and love it. I bought it to take to Paris and I think I got some great shots using it.
Big hugs,
Linda
Great pictures and more fun ahead. I had an earlier version of that very same camera and loved it - I had so much fun with the zoom. I have a Nikon now (wore out the Canon) and love it too. You are really going to have fun now my friend.
Hi Diane, congrats on your new camera, awesome photos. I love the woodie and the hawk shots. The flowers are lovely. Wonderful captures from your new camera, I love the zoom on my Canon SX40. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Aww! How sweet of your husband, Diane! And you've taken some amazing photographs with your new camera so far! Two years ago I bought myself a Nikon D3100 and oh my! It was the best thing I ever did! I am thankful for my wonderful camera every day so I know how in love you must be with yours! And yes, bloggers do indeed love taking pictures:)
Have a fantastic weekend further dear Diane and much love!

Congratulations on your new camera. You will love, love it. The wood pecker photo is outstanding. Right now I am excited to be photographing the migrating birds that come through the yeard. You will have such fun.
Your pictures are wonderful! Great job. Paul gave me a nice camera two years ago and I still haven't figured it all out. Sure is fun to play with though. :)
Great photos Diane. I have a fairly new camera and I do not like it as well as my old one....for one thing the old one fit into my purse. LOL This one is bulky. It's a canon EOs Rebel T3...I need the extra zoom lens and yet to buy one. It a total pain in the know what to figure out. LOL. I wish you much luck with yours. Glad you are doing great. Enjoy this nice long weekend. xoxo,Susie
Fab photo of that wood pecker. You are going to love that camera. I have the powershot S3 and have had it for a long time. It's durable and takes great pictures.
Hope you're feeling all better now!
Do I see a new career in the near future for you? A photographer?
Happy Memorial Day weekend, be safe and be CAREFUL.
Hugs
Lucky you! Want to sell your old camera? I thought it took great photos. I've been thinking of a new one but they are "pricey"! For my budget anyway. I oly have a Kodak and if I get good pictures I am just lucky! LOL!
What a lovely surpise for you and you seem to doing just great with the new camera as these photographs show Love the Woodpeckker shot.
That was so sweet. xoxo Su
Great pics!
I am dreaming of a better zoom, too. My Canon G15 is very good for macros, and fits in my pants pockets. But the max zoom (optical) is 5X, and I'm often left jealous of the other critter bloggers.

Oh we're in for some treats! Yay! Your eye has always been great. Now your camera will be a wonderful tool for your photographer's eye. Enjoy it. Kiss your hubby again. =D
i have that same camera and love the zoom.
WooHoo! I love your pixs already and know you will rock those new possibilities!
I think my husband has that camera. I'll have to check that out.
I also have a Canon powershot and love it. Taking pictures is so important to me. I keep my camera available at all times. Have fun! Maggie
Fabulous! I love your shots! Have much fun with it!
Deb
I just read today that this is a great camera for birders that don't want to spend $$$$$ on bigger cameras. It sure takes great photos Diane! Have a lovely long weekend.
Fun days ahead!!
Judy
Congrats! I'd like my camera a lot better if I could figure out the zoom and macro settings. Have fun with it!
You are going to have so much fun with your new "friend"! Love the woodpecker. Happy Critter Day!
Your new camera is a doozy!! Love the pic of the woodpecker. Have a great time traveling.

Great pictures! Have fun with your new camera!
That's awesome! The photos are beautiful! have fun playing with your new toy!
Me...??...Reading blogs.....have a Nice weekend love Ria...x!
I have this one also! I LOVE it.
You took some great photos!
I think gifts you "use" are the best! Enjoy!! Great shots already!
Oh I can't wait to see how you well you like this new camera. It is taking wonderful shots now even if you are still learning! I'm thinking of upgrading my old Canon SX30. I love the zoom on it, but it just isn't taking photos as good as it once did. Don't know if it's me or the camera! lol! I mostly use my little pocket Canon Elph, but it doesn't zoom as well as the other one. Have a nice weekend and happy snapping!
Nothing like a new camera to brighten your days. I too recently ventured forth and chose a Canon Powershot.
Your photos are great.
Diane,
I have a Canon Power Shot also! Isn't the zoom-in lens amazing? You are going to take some fantastic pictures with your new friend (I call my camera my friend hehehe). What a great Mother's Day gift.
Taking beautiful pictures is special, but it's God's wonderful world that allows us to.

Congratulations! I know that it will give you years of enjoyment. Great photos!
Beautiful pictures. What a nice camera.
Oh ya, you did good, girl! I LOVE my Canon SX50 HS!! I have been so impressed with that zoom, that I don't even use my EOS 40D anymore with the 300mm Lens. The SX50 is sooooo much lighter to carry around and the zoom reaches further, but It's still not quite the quick trigger as a DSLR, but I can compensate. Have fun with your new toy!!
Awesome gift!!..... I'm still trying to figure out my camera, and I've had it for a couple of years now. My favorite...is the woodpecker! Excited to see what all you find to photograph..
How fun to get a new camera. You take such good photos.
hugs,
Cindy
Nice!!!!! The possibilities are now endless my friend! Can't wait to see what you do with this.....and it appears you are off to a great start. Those are some great critter photos!
Have fun with your new camera!

beautiful new toy!!!!
super photos as well, wow!
Helle Diane,
Sorry, I haven't been around for quite a while. I'm happy to see that you are back to your cheerful, walking and photo-taking self.
I'm sure your new toy will follow you on lots of adventures and help you to document them.
Hugs,
Arlette
There is nothing like a new camera! Enjoy! I'm also a Canon fan.

Great pictures!!
Wonderful pictures. But now I have serious camera envy. I just posted a woodpecker post and I am really tempted to take it down and just link to your picture, which is s much better. Sigh.
Have fun...Great pictures! Even though I have an SLR, Like you...I still use my shinny little red Kodak
Carol
Congratulations on your new camera! What fun you'll have with it - and we get to enjoy the results!
What a fun new toy! The photos are great! Have fun! xo Karen
What a wonderful husband!!! Most awesome camera and YES!!!! That's exactly what bloggers do the most and do the best ----- take pictures!!
Great shot of the roses and woodpecker!! Amazing!!
Love your amazing camera! Beautiful photos! My Nikon will refuse to zoom in sometimes to take a clear shot. I can't get good macros either. I'm not completely happy with it, but it is better than the little pocket digital I used to use!
Yippee! How fun and what a sweetheart!
I do love your woodpecker photo.
Carla
Great shots. Have fun with it, sis. Hope you enjoyed Mother's Day.
