Sailing!

I’ve never been sailing but I love seeing the beautiful boats on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

We were surprised to see this Sailing Scow Replica at Crystal River Preserve State Park. It’s 36 ft long by 12 ft wide.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to ride in this sailboat?

Hello Diane, it is a beautiful sailboat. I would like a ride on a calm day! The first sky shot is beautiful. Happy Monday, have a great new week ahead!

I'm one of those who suffers from motion sickness. I do good just to ride in a car!

Diane, we just had a lovely ride in a schooner, whose largest sail is in the back of the boat. It is so unique to be out on the water with no noise from an engine, until they want to change direction or something. It was wonderful. Just go to somewhere near the water and see if you can bum a ride!

That would be such fun - love the photos of the boat. I like boats anyway and slow moving ones really interest me - gliding along - enjoying the day and the scenery. Ahhh, but back to life - time to do the dishes. :-) Happy week my friend.

We have a friend who sails out of Pensacola. It looks like it would be a fun pass time...if you have the time and the money to indulge in it!!:)

Hi Diane, wow those are nice photos of the sailboat. I hope you will stop by my blog today as I have featured your cute doll Noel that you sewed clothes for.
Wishing you a nice day and week.

I'm not a sailing person but I enjoy seeing sailboats and boats of all kinds. I rather like a nice speed boat as long as it doesn't go too fast. LOL Have a wonderful week Diane. xx Pam

Diane,
I too would like to go sailing, we had a motor boat until last year, but with the drought we had, the lakes were so low and we sold it. You know how Texas and it's lakes are, so dependent upon runoff.
Beautiful mosaic!
Happy Hugs to a sweet friend,
Jemma

Hello Diane,
Such lovely photos! One day maybe you will sail in a lovely sailboat with your husband.
Anyway, I would like you to give me your opinion on my new doll as well as the doll who is leaving my house tomorrow.
Hugs,
Arlette

We've often thought that we'd have liked to learn to sail if we'd been able to learn when we were younger. But that ship ...as they say ... Has sailed! Beautiful pictures and yes it would be fun!

Many years ago a neighbour told us to go to the marina and use his sailboat whenever we wanted as he worked long hours. Hubby had been out with him several times so knew the ropes (so to speak) but the bobbing up and down on our lake made me seasick every time. LOL
I hope you do get to experience sailing one day Diane, it's great to be out on the water with the wind in your hair.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

I used to go sailing when I was growing up, but my dad liked the kind of sailing that made the boat tilt way to the side! It was always nerve-wracking dealing with all the ropes and sails. I preferred the calm water, where you could drift around a little and swim off the boat!

What a beautiful boat!
We used to go sailing on Lake Michigan. I loved the sound of the boat cutting through the water, and the sails when the wind hit them. I will always remember the captain yelling...put the jib up!!!
Thank you for some wonderful memories with this post.
Have a great week, Diane!

I've never been sailing either but I can only imagine the quiet, gentle feel of just letting the wind guide you! I did actually fly a glider plane when I was much younger...you wouldn't believe how quiet it was once the tow plane let go and we were on our own! Happy Tuesday!

Diane, love the boats - just not ride in for me. I'm not a big water person.

Sailboats always look so peaceful as they glide across the water. I think I prefer the ability to speed it up if the weather turned bad while out in the middle of the water. We've had to dodge storms in our motor boat many times by flying across the lake.

Hi Diane and what a grand boat it is. I do not swim and even with life jacket to go sailing is a fright to me, but I did go once down in Key West and it was amazing. We saw Dolphins up close, stopped and had lunch in the middle of the ocean and I survived ;) You must go sailing once in your life, it is a good thing~
