It was extremely windy when we were out last weekend.
I loved the look of the dark sky in this photo.
And just as I turned to leave this spot, the birds took flight which always makes a neat photo.
And how about this pair?
The caption might by, ‘You stay on the white rock and I’ll perch on the dark rock.’
A rough day to be out in a boat!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

Love the 2 birds on the rock and that is a good saying for them. Have a lovely weekend.
Ok, I am longing for the beach and your photos are not making my month long wait any easier Diane!! But I love them anyway...especially Ebony and Ivory!!
Diane, you captured the black and white of it, for sure. Not a good day to be in a boat.
I love the picture of the birds in flight-- just beautiful! I always feel like I've had a little vacation when I visit you. :-) Have a lovely weekend, my friend.
Love the photo of the birds taking flight! Have a great weekend.
hugs,
Linda
Your pictures are great but my favorite has to be of those birds. The black one on a white rock and the white one on a black rock. That's just too cute! Have a good weekend!
It does look windy! Always looks beautiful though.
Black and white! What fun! Gulls are always busy. Happy Critter Day!
Wow - lots of wind. I find seagulls love to be out in the wind - wheeling around - great shot. Love the two birds on their rocks, wonder if they could hear each other over the wind. We're expecting some welcome rain here in the PNW this weekend - might sit out under the deck umbrellas and enjoy it. Happy weekend my friend.
Trip was in Destin last weekend and he got caught out in the bay....they've had lots of rough weather this summer!
I hope you're having a great weekend. It is so hot here!!!
xo,
RJ
love the black and white! :)
Hello Diane, pretty shots of the beach and water. I love the shot of the gulls taking off. And the pretty Snowy Egret with the crow? Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Fun pictures!
Great shot of the contrasting birdies with their contrasting rocks, Diane.

Each photo is beautiful, my friend! I love the two different birds together :) Happy weekend! Hugs!

My favorite photo has to be the birds taking flight. You capture some awesome pictures my friend.
Warm hugs
Pat
Hi Diane!
My favourite photo, all are beautiful by the way, but my favourite is the one with the funny caption.
Take care,
Arlette
Really great shot of the birds in flight! Funny caption too of the two birds on the rocks!
Happy weekend!
Looks like a storm was moving in.... Great bird shots...
I love the gulls especially seeing them fly in a large flock.
The "opposites attract" theory sure works for your Egret/Crow (or Raven?) shot. Just perfect! Also loved the gull shot and definitely felt the mood of those dramatic skies.
I surely is windy and looks rough in that boat photo.
The b&w bird pic is great.
Diana
It most certainly is a dark and moody sky, love the palm fronds blowing in the wind.
Jen
love the egret image and your caption, brilliant!!!
Hi namemate! For someone who lives in the city, I always love the windy weather, even if it is sometimes frightening. Haha And that pair or birds, looks like they have a secret plan hahaha
Beautiful images...there is something so special about beach scenes like this. Thanks for sharing this post with us bird enthusiasts at I'd Rather B Birdin'.
The black and white birds together is a fun photo ... so many possibilities for conversation :)
Where on the gulf where you? we go to Siesta Key when we do get there.
It looks pretty even though it is windy.
Cathy
I love the birds too. I feed them all year long. For some reason I find them relaxing and like most things in nature they calm the soul. Just like the water, the mountains, the clouds in the sky, a creek rambling on to larger waters. Most of my blogger friends in Florida are saying they have had plenty of rainy weather. We have been dry these past couple of weeks and it was a nice break from all the wet weather we had previously. Because of all that rain I was mowing grass about every 6 days and usually it is once every 7. Have a great week.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Love the black and white birds!
Hi my friend. Still struggling with my right eye. Went back to eye dr. last Monday. The big floaters are in the back of the eye, and there's nothing they can do about it, but hope they finally settle down. He told me no one would even think of doing surgery, because it could dislodge the retina. So, I'll be posting and commenting maybe once a week. I like the moody sky in the first photo. The two birds on the rocks is a great capture!
Love those bird photos!

Diane, that is a cool picture of the birds taking flight. I never seem to get them, as they fly away too quickly. I really like that picture of the white and black bird. That picture says a thousand words. What a great one.
Have a good week ahead, Diane.
love, ~Sheri
The dark & light bird made such a great study in contrasts! Loved the birds in flight as well!
I like the black and white birds shot! And I can almost feel the wind in that first photo. Have a nice evening and week ahead!
Great shot of the flying birds. Have a great week my friend!
Oh no, I woul not want to be boating in that weather, for sure!
Great photos...love them!! I miss seeing the ocean....the last time I saw it down your way was in 1993. Hope you have a great week.
hugs,
Cindy
Hi Diana, love that sailboat. The ocean looks beautiful. You did a beautiful job capturing those black and white birds on the rock, my favorite.
