I'm thankful!

I'm thankful I have hair and I'm glad it's straight with all the humidity we have here in Florida!

 (A sketch from my sketchbook)

But I've been having a bad hair YEAR! The lady that always cuts my hair cut it WAY too short earlier this year! It took forever to get it to grow out. I went back and she did it again! This time I went over 2 months before I got it cut.

So I decided to go to someone new.  I guess I emphasized that I didn't want it cut too short and this time, it doesn't look like I got a hair cut at all! I actually got my scissors out this morning and cut a little of it. (I HATE to do that!!!)

But it was funny yesterday when she handed me the mirror to look at the back! The mirror had my name on it! How special is that! lol

I tried to get a pic of the back of it so you can see. It does look good....just not short!

I am still sketching so here's what I lightly sketched in last night!

It's nice to be able to complain about it here because I sure need to 'get over it' and get on with other things. Life's too short to worry about whether your hair is short! haha!

And life's too short to struggle with getting a paper bowl out of the cabinet. Hubby uses a paper bowl when he has a dessert in the evenings. And he got tired of trying to get one out of the 'stuck together' stack! So when I opened the cabinet it looked like an explosion of paper bowls! Don't worry...it was just for fun! They are back in a neat stack now!

Hubby found the deepest darkest purple Vincas for our pots in the courtyard!

 Aren't they beautiful!

What are you thankful for today?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

The purple is gorgeous! And your hair looks great, I bet it looked great shorter, too, but we all have our preferences, right?

Hair will always grow back. When we leave for remote areas my wife always has what is effectively a brush cut and by the time we return it is really coming back. But when you are living in a tent in the Himalayas short hair is a real advantage. As for those disposable bowls, it is time to forgo them, wash a ceramic bowl when you do the dishes, and begin the slow process of rehabilitating the environment. Remember - only 8% of what you segregate for recycling is ever actually recycled. We just have to stop using disposables.

Us ladies and our hair...we all agonize over it Diane. But I must say, the back of your hair looks great. I have a cowlick in the very back and if my hair is cut too short it sticks straight out.lol I think a lot of hairdressers just cut hair the way they think it looks good and forget what the client wants. I have someone now who is perfect for me. She is younger than me by a good bit so hoping she stays right here.:) I had to laugh at your hubby's solution to his problem.

Hello, you hair looks cute. I have trimmed my hair. Your fern sketch is pretty. I love the deep purple Vincas, they are beautiful. Enjoy your day.

Hair problems. We all have them, but I sincerely think yours looks awesome. The deep purple is very pretty too.

Our weather is finally getting hotter in the Midwest and, of course, we are expecting humidity too! I wear my hair - sometimes straight or sometimes curled, but with the humidity... who knows???

I think feeling good about our appearance is important, and your hair looks lovely! :)

Blessings! Net

I think your hair looks great that length but we all need to have our hair the way we want it. Love those vincas. So pretty.

The back of you hair looks great! I go to a barber. They give great cuts and I don't miss having my hair washed and styled. A dry cut works for me. Those deep purple flowers are beautiful.

I'm thankful that Steve woke up with less pain than yesterday and he watched a church service program on the TV. It was a very good way to start our day. I'm thankful for all of my sweet blogging sisters, for their encouragement and their prayers. I'm thankful for the feeling of being surrounded by love. Today is a beautiful day to enjoy and I am making the choice to do just that.
Oh, and I think that your hair looks lovely. I know what it is like to have someone cut way to much off. It's better when they don't cut enough:)
Have a sweet day my friend.
You are beautiful, inside and out.
Connie :)

I need to get my hair cut, thanks for the reminder. I'm thankful for those old men I see on TV, the survivors of D-Day. And the flowers are very pretty.

Oh Diane, I think your hair looks lovely! I do understand how it is though...we get used to our "dos" and it is important to us that we get the cut we want...and when we find someone we like, we want to stick with them. Hey, I think my hubby has been rummaging through your cabinets! What are we going to do with those guys, anyway?? Have a wonderful remainder of the week! Hugs!

great sketch. Now to hair... do you take a picture in? Go back right away to the one who just cut it, and say it's not quite short enough, and I wanted you to know when I tell you the length I want, it's just a little shorter than what you did. She'll either fix it with two snips or know for next time. Hair is important and a small change can change the way your face looks. I had a friend who did hair, and she said communicating what you want is hard for the person to understand.
Love the dark purple!

Good for you going to a different stylist for your haircut. You are right we should not have to worry about hair. They need to listen, thankfully mine does. Your cut is adorable and perfect for you. I'm thankful my back is better after a week of chiropractor visits! Blessed and now I feel like doing all I need to be doing! Have a great weekend.....

It sure was scary to learn of your problems with Google. I hesitated before clicking past that terrible warning. Your hair looks great. One of our granddaughters has real trouble with frizzy hair. Maybe she needs to move to Florida!

I need to think about being Thankful too. This year I got my hair cut and told her to just trim it about one inch, she trim 4 inches. I am still crying sometimes about it. I never had my hair this short before. I wished that was the only thing about my hair I had to cry about. My thyroid is messing up again and I am losing hair. I can always buy a wig. HA! HA!

I remember having issues with hairdresser in Fl--
and when I found one that did do it right--
when I went back in a month--
that one didn't work there anymore--
crazy!!!
Here in NY I have been going to the same gal for over 30 years--
so for the most part it is done the way I ask--
love that color flower--neat!!!
keep cool--

I love the way the back of your hair looks. I always go to smart style inside Walmart because I never need an appointment. the down side to that is that I rarely get the same person twice. I always tell them the exact same thing but they all seem to interpret it differently. It's all good though.

Your hair is very cute!

Sometimes I'm lazy and will use a paper plate for something. Mostly just regular dishes (but at the lake where we wash up with no dishwasher, it all depends on the day!)

Wow, your hair-do is so so so pretty, love that shot of the back!! I'll trade you anyday!! I love your color too. I sure never noticed a "bad haircut", so it couldn't have looked TOO BAD....right? I think your hair always looks great, and I love short hair cuts. Mine is due for a trim for sure. Good thing I love hats, ha ha LOL

Those Vincas truly are beautiful, and I really like the name of your blog! Lavender has such a pleasant fragrance, I find it very therapeutic!

As for my being thankful, I'm so very thankful that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior!

Your hair looks lovely. Taking that snapshot of the back of your head is a trick, isn't it? I've done it, too, in the past and my goodness that's hard!

Of course our hair always looks bad to us but everybody else thinks it looks fine.

I'm with you. I've had way too many unhappy haircuts.

But you look very nice.

hair...it’s all relative... 🙃 I sure have had some bad cuts through the years! Remember when John called me “M*uammar G*addfi?” That was a bad cut for sure.

Your hubby has a good idea about paper bowls for evening snacks. Glad that the cupboard is sorted. I like your fern drawing and your haircut!

We need good haircuts so our styling goes smoothly. Plus we like to look nice! I have been lucky lately, my hairdresser has been giving me consistently good haircuts. We also plant vincas here, I have never seen that beautiful deep purple that your husband found!

Fun post ~ and can relate to the 'hair' ~ think the stylists get tired of doing the same style ~ but that is what I want ~ simple bob ~ fussed enough with my hair over the years ~

I like your new haircut! I think she did a nice job on it. And that is really something that the mirror she used had your name on it. I love when things like that happen. It makes life interesting and special. ; )
