Thankful for the little things!

I know this won't seem like much to most people but for me it's a VERY big deal!

I found something that I can eat that tastes really good! Most of you know that I can't eat sugar. I am allergic to sugar so I don't have a choice. And because I am health conscious too, I avoid artificial sweeteners.

So when I ran across these Bake Believe chocolate morsels I did some research online before I headed over to the big 'W' store to buy a bag. Sugar free does NOT mean calorie free so I can't go crazy with this product. But it does give me a chance to eat a few chocolate chip morsels on top of a spoonful of peanut butter or with a half of a banana. I mixed a few in with some nuts to make what we always called Gorp.

And you have to remember....I have not had a chocolate chip morsel in over 20 years. So it seemed like a pretty big deal to me. And so far, so good!

The website is HERE and there are some interesting recipes I would love to try. I am remembering how good a granola bar or a cookie could taste. Maybe I'll go wild and buy some almond flour and make a small cake! Recipes HERE!

Life got a little bit sweeter around here. I wonder how many miles I'll need to hike to eat these chocolate chips right out of the bag! I may have to walk WHILE I eat! hahahaha!

Don't forget to tune into the Hallmark channel on Christmas day for a beautiful fireside view and Christmas music playing all day.

Any special treats you are enjoying this holiday season?

                        I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

Yay! I am actually sharing this info with someone with a similar problem. So glad that you found a good product that you can enjoy. Are you able to eat a small bit of honey? I can not imagine what eating must be like with these restrictions. Seems we all have our crosses to bear. You do a great job with yours!

I made a double meatloaf yesterday. Leftovers are my treats!

Good for you with the chipits. Hubby cannot have dairy, yeast or eggs, so it limits any treats...

Oh, I'm glad you found some chocolate chips you can eat. I didn't realize you were allergic to sugar. I'm not supposed to eat too much of it either, so I savor what I can. I wanted to ask you to please read the labels for aspartame - it's not good for us at all. And some of the sugar-free goodies have it in there. I care about you, so just thought I'd mention it. The Hallmark channel with the fireplace going looks so cozy in your home. The Hallmark movies have become a favorite in this house. Your Thankful Thursday posts are so special, Diane.

Your treats sound delicious! I have to watch sodium, so I get the all natural peanut butter too. And I love the bananas and apples. I'll have to share these links with my daughter who bakes a lot. Thank you so much for sharing. Enjoy your treats, hugs, Edna B.

I can eat sugar but have been avoiding it as much as possible so this is something I will have to look for. Peanut butter is my downfall and chocolate goes best with peanut butter.

I can't imagine being allergic to sugar! Oh, my! I just made a batch of sugarplum dough which is much like chocolate butter! 2 cups of butter. 1/2 cup cocoa, 3 cups powdered sugar and 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp canilla and 3 cups dry quick oatmeal, 2 cups chopped pecans. Not sure why I spouted off this recipe which will not be something you will use! I don't actually eat it myself either. I mix up the dough and refrigerate it and on Christmas Eve, all my children and grandchildren roll up their sleeves and break off little pieces, roll them into balls and the roll them in colored sugar or sprinkles.
These must stay in the fridge. BUTTER!! I send all of it home with them.
Merry Christmas!!!
