Blue Run Park is one of the most beautiful places in this part of Florida!
The trail runs through an area with the Swamp on one side and the River on the other.
So there's an opportunity to see beauty in every direction.
We were pleased to see Wood Ducks in 3 different areas.
And amazed to see them come out in the open.
Most of them stay on the Swamp side, under sheltering tree branches and cypress knees.
When you stand on the bridge and look out over the River, you have to train your eyes to see anything in the vegetation
Did you see what's there in the shallow water?
Let's zoom in some!
I'll end with something more beautiful...
Wood Ducks and....
water!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

What a beautiful place to view nature!
Hello,
Blue Run Park looks beautiful, love the reflections on the water.
The Wood Ducks are so pretty, the male so colorful. I found the little gator, I'm sure it's big Daddy is close by too. Great capture of the two male Wood Ducks, they are always shy and take off when they see me.
Great photos and post. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thank you for today's visit and comment.
Checking my fav blogs this morning before I head out to choir practice (prepping Easter music). After that, I plan to check out the 2 thrift shops you recommended to me a couple of months ago.
Yes, I spotted the gator in your Blue Run pics. We've been there. It's as beautiful as you say.
The wood ducks -- hope they are safe!
What a beautiful place to walk....but brother Alligator would give me pause.:)
those silly ducks, do they know that gator is there? I love wood ducks, they are so gorgeous. I want to live in a log cabin in the middle of your header photo.
Diane, Those ducks sure are pretty. I like seeing the places you hike thru. That gator is scary. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
...the wood ducks are beautiful, the alligators I can do without. Enjoy!
...the wood ducks are beautiful, the alligator I can do without, enjoy the day!
The Wood Ducks are works of art!
I saw the alligator! Wow! I hope one never attacks you! Stay safe!
Dianne!
I am delighted with beautiful photos, great views.
Alligator, this animal I saw in the ZOO. Mandarin ducks are cute.
Greetings from far away Poland.

Looks like a beautiful area to spend some time. I hope that none of the Wood Ducks become alligator lunch!
The wood ducks are beautiful. The alligator is quite impressive and I wouldn't like to see him up close in person. I heard they are fast moving creatures.
Have a grand weekend.
That looks like a beautiful place! I need to look that one up. Love the Wood Ducks! Aren't they beautiful? Our wood ducks must have moved down there and now all we are seeing are the Ring Necked Ducks and the Canadian Geese every day. But that's okay. They are all beautiful too!! That gator looks like he might be hungry, so watch out! (ducks better watch out for sure!) Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. Loved seeing more of our gorgeous Florida parks.
Aren't those wood ducks splendid? I never see them often enough.
Wow, that is a pretty place. Those wood ducks are beautiful. Yikes on the alligator. I wouldn't want to get too close to that guy.
What delightful photos--I do miss living near the water--

luv, di
Such a beautiful place and your pictures are gorgeous!!
I thought of you today when I was out walking and had to take off one of my sweatshirts because I got too warm. It was 35 degrees. : )
Diane, I thought it was a frog in the swamp. Yikes!! It was an alligator. Those are a bit scary to me! Love the pictures!!
Truly a beautiful place! How cool to sight the alligator!! The wood ducks are gorgeous creatures! Thanks for sharing!
Hey friend, well you know me, I like those alligators. Hee Hee.
Hello. Beautiful place. The Wood duck looks so wanderful.
Pretty area until I saw the 'Swamp thang'. But I do love the wood ducks

Beautiful water pictures! Gators make me nervous.
oh! keep away from the bitey critters! The wood ducks are lovely though and it looks like a lovely place to visit. Have a great week and thank you for stopping by my blog last week. AND happy belated birthday wishes!
These are beautiful pictures.
Photo 5 is my favorite.
Best regards, Irma
I envy all and anyone who can get photos [not to mention see] of the wood ducks! They're so beautiful, and skittish,....as you say they're usually spotted a lot more 'hidden' than out in the open! Lucky you. Beautiful, birds, swamp and park to be sure.
Thanks for sharing with us at I'd Rather B Birdin'.
Hi Diane. The Wood Ducks are so very smart, the male so colourful. I found the alligator too. It's a lovely park you have there.
Last pic is my favorite! Love the silhouette.
awwwww...what a beautiful spot!! the first image is breathtaking, the reflection looks like snow covered mountains!!! and you saw wood ducks, mr. and mrs., what a thrill to see!!
i did not see the alligator until you zoomed in but i suspected as much with the color of the water!! the last picture is a beauty, beautiful blue water with nice soft ripples!!!
The park is beautiful and I love your photos. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
We have Wood Ducks here, but I hardly ever see them. Your photos are wonderful!
Gorgeous photos....I so enjoyed the wood ducks. I painted on wood panels in the 70's and my best sellers were ducks on 2 panels facing each other, and wood ducks were of course the BEST. They are simply gorgeous and we would see many in N. Wisc. each summer! So glad, you get to enjoy them, too. Sandi
Wood Ducks absolutely delight me!
Beautiful spot except for the gators !
A beautiful walk, Diane! Those wood ducks are so colorful
Such a beautiful walk and I love the reflections on the water...
All the best Jan
Did I see? Yes, I did. Very green. 🐊 A lovely walk otherwise. ☺️
What a wonderful park to visit. We have Wood Ducks here, and I am always amazed at their intricate colouring and patterns. The reflections on the water are gorgeous.
