Here We Go!

I love books, especially vintage children's books!

This old school workbook is a 1952 edition. I couldn't read at that age but it may have been the same Alice and Jerry book I used when I started school in 1957.

It had never been used. Maybe I should try to see if I can answer all the questions correctly! (can I still tell time with one of these clocks? Can you? heeheehee)

And this book, Little Songs for Little People is dated 1968 which would have been in my teen years.

I was happy to find the workbook at Etsy and the songbook at the thrift store for a quarter.

It's a good month to reminisce! I'll let you know why in a couple of weeks! heehee! Sometimes when I look back at my post after it's published I think I should take out some of the heehees! But that wouldn't be keeping it real, would it?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays .

Do you place a hee hee whenever you find yourself chuckling as you write? If so, it makes your mood all the more readable. What nice finds you have! Playing detective, is it time or nearly time to wish you a 🎉? Gosh, I am full of questions lately. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hello,

I was born in 56, so I started school in the 1960's. The book is cute, I always loved reading. Enjoy your day, have a great weekend ahead.

I love your "hee-hee's". And I also love vintage children's books. I have some and I don't want to part with them. Some were mine as a child. It was such a sweet age when we were children...looks like you and I were of the same era. Thank you for sharing these. They bring back happy memories. "hee hee". :)

These are adorable Diane, love them! As far as I know, you and I are the only ones who enjoy and post children's books (correct me if I'm wrong or forgot someone!)....and I love seeing them. They bring back alot of happy innocent childhood memories, guess that is why I like looking at them. I think I had Dick and Jane, I never had this one, so that is cool to see! Do y'all have any hikes planned for this weekend? Hugs!

What a great share...I don't remember the first one---we had the Dick and Sally books, which I believe was a different publisher. But, I can sure relate to the insides. The music book is so sweet, I worked in the college library and remember this from the children's department as we had an early childhood education major. Such, simplicity but the most glaring change between the books in a few years was the children in the second book are ethnically diverse! Thank you for the great step into nostalgia!

Keep on laughing...I love that about you! Oh my gosh, I’m soooo old! I remember Alice and Jerry , but that book would have been *after* my time with them...I’d have been reading an earlier edition. (In 1952, I was a sophisticated sixth grader (Lol).
