It was a cold day in......

It was a cold day in Arkansas.... when I was born!
What did you THINK I was going to say? heeheehee!

My mother said it was icy and cold with snow on the ground in Southern Arkansas on the day I was born. And that's been....a 'few' years ago! I won't say how many but this is a 'big' birthday for me. I would like to say that I have been my usual happy go lucky self looking forward to it but that might be a bit of an exaggeration. But I'm in a good mood today! And guess what! It's a COOL day in Florida on my birthday!

So let's celebrate! 🎪

I'm off to do a little hiking! I'll have to wear LONG sleeves of all things! But I'm looking forward to going on a trail I've never been on before! The Land Bridge!

These are 'old' photos of birthdays of old. Did I say OLD 2 times? Disregard that!

And enjoy your day!

Eat some cake and I'll have something sugar free!

sugar free?!!! 🍎

I'm posting this a day early because

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

And I'm planning to go outside and play on my special day!

(I had this little cake on my play stove but hubby put it in the arms of my doll. Everyone at my house takes time to play!)

Wheeeeeee!!!

You're always young enough to PLAY! 🎂

What a fun post, Diane! What a cute little girl you were, I love the photo with the paper doll sheets---that was one of my favorite pastimes as an only child. We really do need to celebrate----enjoyed this so much and HAPPIEST of Birthdays!,

Happy Birthday, enjoy your hike, eat the cake and don't give it another thought. It's one day and it should be enjoyed, lived and celebrated.
Cold today in Florida and here in GA as well. My fountain on the deck froze over, solid! Brrr I'm not made for this.

Happy Birthday Diane! I hope you are enjoying your special day all day long! It is a bit chilly today, and will be even colder tomorrow. I skipped our walk today but hubby went. I was having some other "issues" and didn't want to leave the house. So this is a milestone birthday? I'll bet we are close to the same age. I will have a milestone birthday in September. I love your doll with the birthday cake. So cute. Looks so real. I love your old pictures too. Love the one with the dress that is standing out. We did have those crinolines or petticoats back then, didn't we? You were so cute! Enjoy your special day all day!!!

Happy Birthday Diane! I hope you are having a wonderful day doing all the things you love. These treasured old photos are making me smile through the whole post. What a cute child you were. It looks like even back then you were creating (the first picture.) I hope you found some interesting things at The Land Bridge on your hike. Wishing you many more wonderful birthdays, dear friend.

ps.....I liked the 50's era too. Those diners and oldies music and clothes - it seems like a fun period in time. : )

Happy Birthday Diane ! You have the right attitude for *celebrating* the arrival of another year! .... (I think I already knew to feel that way back when I was only your age, but it has been a while ago and I may have forgotten!). Have fun playing out in the cool weather day! (I’m digging out my long sleeves too!). Love your birthday photo collection ... you were a living doll back then ...just like you are still!

Happy Birthday Diane! The picture of you on the tricycle reminded me of a story from my childhood when I rode a tricycle down a steep driveway WITHOUT handlebars! We have more in common that we thought! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Happy birthday Diane. Precious childhood photos. It is so cold here too. Even during the daytime, in the 20's. No ice or snow- yet.

Happy Birthday! Where in Arkansas were you born? I'm in North Central and it is cold here this morning! 24 F! Brrr! But it warms up when the sun comes out and I have been able to walk every day. YOu pictures are so cute and the little doll with the cake is a hoot! I hope you have a great day and you shouldn't ever be ashamed of your age!

happy birthday diane, i hope you had a wonderful day!!! i enjoyed seeing pictures of you when you where just a wee one, i especially like the one with your dress all fanned out!!

if you would like to talk about cold, come up here to new jersey where it has been bitter cold...where long sleeves just won't cut it!! hehehehehe

you can play at any age!! (but it is a little easier to lift your leg on a tricycle when you are 4)!!!!

Did you get to go to the land bridge? Looking forward to seeing what that is. Love the picture of you holding out your poufy little dress, remember "can cans"? Well where I come from they were called "can cans" , lots of people call them "crinolines". LOL KInda itchy, some of them, but they made out dresses stand out so pretty. I sent you an email just now! Hugs

I'm so sorry I'm late to your birthday party, Diane! It looks like you had a festive time of it! I love your childhood dresses and of course, your doll with the celebratory birthday cake!!!

By the way, my husband will occasionally play with my dolls, too, just to humor me and make things fun. I love that about him.

So happy, happy birthday. Mine will be here in a couple of months and it, too, will be a big one.
