Walking to stay healthy!

I told my husband today that when they reopen the Florida Trails, I'm going EVERY day! I love getting out in nature and really miss it. I know I shouldn't complain when I have a nice place to walk in my neighborhood.

I keep telling myself I have no reason to complain at all.

We have a beautiful place to live and our weather has been good.

And as long as we are well and our family members and friends (thank God) are well, I shouldn't complain.

But we can't help but have days when we feel melancholy and sad.

It's terrible to see the pandemic take such a heavy toll around the world.

We continue to pray for everyone. How are you doing this week?

That's a walk over to the neighborhood pond. I hope you've enjoyed it. Sending you all hugs from Florida.

Stay safe and healthy and thankful.

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays and

I like Thursdays HERE too!

I did really well the first 3 weeks, but now going into week five I am down in the dumps and finding it harder to cope by the day. I think that is because I see no end in sight to this, it is going on and on and on...

Hello,

Your neighborhood is pretty, I love the pond. Looks like a great place to walk. We are doing well, I try to think positive thoughts. Take care, enjoy your day! Wishing you a happy weekend ahead.

Being well and positive is the way to be and thankful for what we have.
Be safe and have a great day!

My state has closed all parks and trails, etc. it seems so unfair because people can stll practice social distancing there. I guess it is a way to encourage everyone to stay home. If we must go anywhere other than the pharmacy or grocery store, we must have an official letter of intent. Who would ever have believed such a thing could happen in the USA? Yes, it is natural to have some emotion over it all. You are doing a great job of sharing your neighborhood.

Hi Diane,

Depends on the day. Some I feel energized others I feel anxious and down... I can’t figure out why the change. I actually took every item shelf, drawer and so forth out of fridge and gave it a throughly cleaning. I am also baking and cooking nice dinners every night. Last night it was stuffed cabbage rolls...but my it had so many steps. Hubby loved it, but it may get moved to the back of the book!

The weather plays a huge part in my mood. Even if we don’t go out that day....the sunshine sure helps.

I hope your trails open soon...Stay well, Janey

Copy Sandra's comment for me. If they would just tell us a time when things would begin to open, it would help. But of course no one knows what this terrible virus is going to do. So glad you have someplace pretty to go to. I so enjoyed seeing all of your pictures. And you still have pretty birds to photograph. I don't think any of us will take things for granted anymore.

Sounds like you're doing well! I find I'm much better off if I don't read too much news. One day I made the mistake of watching a video of doctors and nurses in New York talking about the situation in their hospital. It made me cry and I couldn't get it out of my head. Another thing that helps me is to assume that this is going to go on for a very long time, instead of pinning my hopes on a date that is only going to get extended when that date comes. Enjoy your beautiful neighborhood walks and keep dreaming!

I agree Diane...this is hard on everyone. Our youngest son is an extrovert and he was talking about how hard this has been on him. I am more of an introvert but enough is enough.lol I did get a call from my hair salon and I have an appt on May 4th!! That makes me hopeful.

Some rainy weather would be helpful. The days are sunshiny and yet most of society must stay home and for as long as no one really knows. It’s unsettling but we who have a nice place to ponder all this, indeed, are the fortunate ones.

I know it's difficult, but folks shouldn't be complaining so much. It will end when it ends. I love your photos. What a beautiful place you live at. You stay safe and have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Beautiful Red Winged Blackbird! I haven't seen any of those in a long time! And of course the Canadian Goose...they are becoming my friends during this pandemic. I love that you have some beautiful places to walk in your neighborhood. That helps a lot. We take our daily walk in a wooded area where there are no people, and it helps so much. Soon we will be able to get out and about and take REAL walks, but until then, we are blessed to live where we do and be able to get out as much as possible. Some states aren't even allowing that. Take care and stay healthy. It won't be long, I hope and pray.

You do live in a beautiful spot! The trails are still open here in PA, which I am thankful for. we must practice social distancing while hiking them, though.

Beautiful territory. I'm OK. I'll stay in/close as long as it takes. There will be an end, a resurrgence, another end, another resurgeance. I am lucky to have a home, food, the ability to make donations to those who are dealing with more unfortunate conditions than I. As long as I don't watch too much news, I am fine.

Oh how absolutely beautiful your neighborhood is!! But don't feel bad about complaining... we all need to do it now and again, especially in these hard times. Thank you for taking us along on your walk!! Love, Andrea xoxo

i don't feel like you are complaining, it's ok to talk about the things you miss. a simple ride in the car makes one feel better and that is not really allowed. you captured some pretty images, it's nice where you live. i love the red winged blackbird, they are so glossy and colorful!!

don't be so hard on yourself, you have had to make big changes, i can feel how much you enjoy your walks!!

Lovely to take a little walk with you today, Diane. ♥
I always feel so much better after getting out into nature...even if it is simply pottering in my garden for half an hour or sipping a cup of coffee outside. I too have been struggling with feeling a bit down lately, but you are right...we need to keep focusing on all the good things the Lord has blessed us with.
Sending hugs your way...may the rest of your week be blessed!

You do have a beautiful place to walk.
I try to get out everyday with my Hubby to walk our neighborhood.
I am so thankful that we can still do that here in Northern California.
Trying to stay positive and am so grateful that we have our health, a comfortable home , and food to eat.
Prayers for so many in harms way.
Take care

Sending hugs back to you. I'm doing well, but find myself easily brought to tears. Unusual for me, but there's so much sadness now. I'm grateful for so much this Thursday, for all the things we just used to take for granted.

Hi Friend,
I wake up some mornings and I forget the COVID19 thing is real. Then I remember as I am making the bed.. that everything is upside down.
Our Governor closed our state for another month. Atticus will not have a normal High School graduation.
But.. I am so thankful we are healthy and hope that stays that way!!

I think we're all getting a little tired of being cooped up, even if it's in a comfortable spot. I miss people. I miss being carefree. But yes, so grateful, for all the same reasons you state. Stay healthy!

Thank you Diane for this beautiful message and reminder that we are not alone. I think we've all had waves of feelings... highs and lows. Like you, I've been praying for our country and the world to get through this.

God bless you honey.... Take care!

What a nice walk and so pretty there. Our weather has been strange. One day it's sunny and 60's, the next it's raining and windy, and then cloudy and cold. I can't wait until we have warmer weather. I am thankful that our family is all healthy and not sick. We are all making the best of this situation. Have a nice weekend.

Your walks are lovely. We have had only highs in the low forties since Saturday, and I'm not happy inside, either!

You are so right -- taking a nature walk, even if it's very close to home, is a very healthy idea! It gets the sludge in our bodies moving and out so we can be invigorated!

Thanks for the encouragement!

You live in a lovely place, your photos show peace and beauty. Yet, we long for more. Freedom. Longer walks. Companionship. I hope the good things all return soon and the virus disappears.

Oh my gosh, I love the pictures of that bright and pretty bird!! That is a very nice place to walk, and looks like you're not all scrunched up close with lots of other people, looks like lots of wide open space! the pond area is so pretty and peaceful looking. Well, the weekend is here. I sure miss walking freely anywhere we chose. I'm thankful we have a house with a yard and porches!!

It is a tough go for many. We are fine, except for my cataracts. And hubby's cough (since Nov.). I do sit and feel as if I am going to weep. I just keep breathing.

Thank you for your prayers. Your neighborhood pond is so lovely. And it seems peaceful there too. I see blackbirds around here a lot, but don't often see the red-winged ones. They sure are beautiful. What a wonderful "Thankful Thursday" post. : )

We are fine so far. I miss seeing some people and having events every weekend. I am alarmed by the people who are demonstrating to get back to normal. Some of them will get terribly sick and burden the nurses and doctors, who are already struggling.
