It's hiking and birding weather!

It's still 'warm' but there is less humidity and more of a breeze and we are hitting the trails as often as we can.

We're trying to pace ourselves!

And maybe we do walk a bit slow!

But REALLY!!! How RUDE!!! hahaha!!!

(I took the photo of the 2 vultures perched in the top of an old snag...the dead tree...overlooking the trail. No hikers were harmed in the making of this hike and I don't think the vultures were either! lol)

Lots of pretty wildflowers blooming this week.

And the birds are becoming more varied and plentiful.

We saw this bird in the woods and it looked like a Great Blue Heron from a distance.

But it was a Eastern Bluebird.

There were a pair of them eating the Winged Sumac and flying across the trail in front of us.

Has the weather been nice at your house this week? Fall is in the air!

I'm joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE .

Also I like Thursdays HERE.

Oh gosh, I thought it was a heron, too! In fact, I had to do a double-take after you revealed it was a bluebird! I admire that you keep hiking no matter the weather. That is devotion! Glad you didn't see any "beasts" on this hike!

Seeing a bluebird is a treat! We may get our first frost today so my garden will go to sleep until next summer. I am enjoying all the beautiful tree colors in my area now--love fall!

Wonderful photos. I especially love the bluebird. I think I've only spotted them once or twice around here, to get photos of them. They are beautiful birds.

Oh yes, the weather is gorgeous!! Although we need rain mixed in with the sunshine to keep things from getting too dry, but I'm not complaining. Lower humidity is the best part! Love that you saw a bluebird! I haven't seen any since they left the nest this summer. I guess they flew over to your neck of the woods. I love the purple wildflowers out there right now too. They are really pretty. Thank you for sharing the beauty from your side of the forest! You are a good promoter for life in north central Florida!!

Today it really does feel like Fall. Cloudy and cool weather made for easy time gathering the brown leaves that have fallen. Your bluebird photos are great!

Oh, that bluebird!!!! So beautiful! You are so talented, my friend. Capturing those photos like that. Our weather has been a bit warm for me for October, although many people love it! It is in the 70's. I think 60's are better this time of year. Cozier.: )

butI love the vulture joke. But perhaps I shouldn't confess to that?
Your mosaic is so beautiful, with its lavender center.

Yes, I can feel fall in the air - it is less humid, for sure. I always love your photos! Happy trails!! xo

Hello! Warmth with less humidity is the same here, but it has been too warm for our October. Your translation of Vultures’ language and the photos made me smile - I like your sense of humor. I also thought the bird was Blue Heron. Eastern bluebird is so cute and the kaleidoscopic mosaic of wild flowers is so lovely.

Diane - the bluebird photos are so precious! As you know, we are in Santa Fe right now, and it has been in the high 60s with sunshine. Back home, my best friend tells me it has been in the low 20s. Brrr. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Sometimes, or often, I feel so tired on the trail that one more step and I'm vulture food.

What are those old vultures talking about! Definitely rude. I can hardly wait for my vultures to head your way. Soon! The weather has been gorgeous. Temps in the 70s with sunny days.

It showers on and off the place I live in south India, and the weather was pleasing despite the mosquito menace. I love the capture of the eastern bluebird and the mosaic work of wildflowers!

Oh, that sweet little bluebird. I love them. There's just something special about them. I love how they bend their heads down and you can see their
striking blue feathers. The vultures are strange birds, and it seems they will eat anything. The last picture of the strand of leaves is so pretty
too. You can see all the Fall colors.

It was 40 degrees this morning when I got in my car, and Yes, Autumn is here.
Our Winter will be cold this year.

Beautiful photos - We live in Florida 6 months of the year and I frequently see vultures in the nearby park. The weather here in Phila is beautiful about 75 high and 60 low each day. The leaves are starting to change colors and starting to fall.

The birds are colorful and such a sight to see. Ooh the vultures, this is their season. HaHaHa..,I may have worked with one or two of them in my years of working. But I think they all went to D.C. for new careers.
It is nice seeing yuou on your walks. I like to observe. At the open spaces they have muskrats and I love to see them dive in the water and swim so quickly like little furry Oympians.
It is nice to see you here. Take care

Yes, I do agree. Fall is in the air. It is a distinct feeling. It makes one feel like they need to hurry before cold weather arrives.
