One little change requires MORE little changes!

My little change was the new shabby chic pillow I made for my bed. (I posted HERE) And then it hit me….I have never been happy with the very top of this small bookcase.

I didn’t want something to come up in front of my Lady of Shallot but the red wooden music box didn’t seem quite right on it’s own. And then I put way too many small items along with it. The more I did…the worse it got!

So I took everything off and started over.

Before…

and AFTER…

I moved the books up a shelf.

And left a little room on the bottom shelf for odds and ends.

Now I like it better. Well, until I walk back in the room and start rearranging it again!

I try to ‘live with’ a new arrangement for a few days to see how I feel about it before I move things around AGAIN! After all….I do have more things to do than move things from one shelf to another. I have BLOGGING! hahaha!

Do you move things around in your house or is this crazy behavior?

Yes. I do ALL OF THE TIME! You can never just move one thing. AND, it always strikes me in the midst of chores or such so that I never truly get finished what I started to do! Ahhh! The worst is in my classroom. There, I change one thing, and it then turns into a 2 hour tour. Ugh. I do love the pillow! Beautiful! You take such lovely pictures. I need to go catch up on your blog and just soak in their beauty!

Blessings and hugs, friend!

It's okay, this re-mix was free! These are fun to play with and change up!

Yes, I do that too. I LOVE what you ended up with. The greenery softens the angles of the bookshelf. I too like to live with things for a few days. My house may sit in semi chaos while "I'm looking."

I do believe it looked great both ways. But I am that same way. I am for ever changing things up..

Happy Tuesday my friend.

Diane, I move furniture, paintings and so on all the time (yes, even the kitchen cabinets contents!).
I like what you did with the shelf and love your chair, very comfy!

I love the plant on the top now. It looks good by the picture. I find an arrangement I like and then I never want to change much. When I really should. xoxo,Susie

If it is crazy, then they can put me away too. Actually years ago I read an article about being healthy/happy, and one of the tips was "don't live in a museum; change things every now and then." So there. I like your new arrangement.

Diane, love how 'less is more' ... now the music box AND the plant are showcased to better advantage. Nice work!

I'm always doing that too. Every time I walk by something I have just done, I always adjust something just a little bit different. It must be a female thing.

I re-arrange things all the time. I always think something could look better. I wish I could re-follow you again..but blogger won't let me follow anyone with the button..go figure.

I love all the vintage books on your shelves. I'm a sucker for vintage books

love this post....I move stuff all the time! Whenever you make an improvement, it seems something else then needs improving....never fails. One change leads to another. It's not crazy--it's inevitable!

Yes, it is crazy, yes, for sure I do this too. So, you know what that makes me! I like your "after" photo better! grin!

Yes, the greenery needed to be on top to give height and also soften the edge!
