Exposing an IMPOSTER

Yes, you heard me right! If I don’t, who will?

But first, thanks to everyone who wished me well these past few days. Being ill takes a lot out of you, especially when you get ‘older’ but I’m feeling better every day. I’ve taken the time to get my house in better order and read a few books. I took some time today to read a lot of my favorite blogs but I decided to just read and get a little caught up. It will take me longer to write comments but I hope you’ll understand.

Now back to the task at hand…

exposing the imposter!

We looked at the live oak tree across the street and it was FULL of Cedar Waxwings.

cedarcropIMG_0594

There were hundreds of them in the trees and in the sky!

But can you spot the imposter?

robinIMG_0595

Yes, he’s right there in the middle of the action!

A red red Robin! lol

robin2IMG_0596

One more day to stay inside for me and then can I go outside and play?

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this frigid weather.

cedarwaxIMG_0594

Thanks again for all of your sweet comments.

What a sweet bunch of girlfriends I have!

Are there any other ‘birds’ that would like to fly to Florida right now? Come on down!

I haven't visited your blog in awhile so I didn't know you had been sick. I'm so glad you're better! Hope you keep improving.

I'm surprised there are no birds at our feeder this morning. I hope their little feet didn't freeze to the tree limbs last night. It's 7 degrees here this morning ~ in Alabama!

Forget about the birds, how about I fly down to Florida? Well, it's a nice thought. Hope you are feeling better every day. Take care. I hear it is cold even in Florida.

Ha - funny you said that because my kids call me Bird. That's my nickname and this Bird would definitely love to fly down to Fl. right now.

Glad you're feeling better!!

Take good care of yourself. Our poor birds are hiding in these nasty frigid temps. We filled the feeders before the storms started, but everything looks pretty frozen now.

I hear it's a bit chilly down there right now. What a large flock of cedar waxwings. They are so pretty aren't they? And look at that robin joining them. I'm happy that you are feeling better now. Take care. Hugs, Pam

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

So many pretty birdies. It's cold up in these mountains, and I love the snow.
But I will do my happy dance when spring arrives.

You take good care of yourself, drink lots of water and rest.

Hugs
Prudence ♥

Am I one of your girlfriends too?

I'll be right there-- weather here is "frightful!"

What a wonderful flock of cedar waxwings ... and a cute robin. I'd love to flee to Florida right now with wind chill temperatures around -35 Celsius ... only problem .. all the flights were cancelled out of the main airport due to white out conditions from the snow and wind.

So sorry You've been ill.I'm hopping today will find You MUCH better.I so enjoyed the tree full of birds.I love birds, fun and enchanting.I have a certain small tree next to Our spa I call the "bird tree".It's always full of different varieties of birds.I think it's because of the moist warmth of the spa.

I'm sorry that you have been sick, but glad you are on the way to recover fully. I loved these pictures, wonderful captures of life in bird land.

I've always adored seeing those birds on other blogs...and once or twice this fall I did see some hanging out in the giant larch trees in the fields...what a joy.

Oh how I'd love to see cedar waxwings in the yard. We do have them here in the summer, but not in our yard. You can tell them that we are a bird friendly summer destination. Florida does sound good--warm. We do have cold and snow, but like those east of us. We are looking forward to the warming trend this week end--45 degrees. A real heat wave.

I'm sorry you've been ill; it's the worse. I love the Robin letting us know that Spring will not skip her turn this year! XOXO

What an amazing kaffeeklatsch those birds are having! Love the imposter. Thank you for the invitation. If we all take you up on it, you're going to be very busy. Buy coffee! We'll have us a klatsch. (So glad that you are on the mend.)

Debby said...

I didn't know you were sick. it has been a busy couple of weeks. Glad you are feeling better and hope it wasn't anything too serious. Your birds are much prettier than our buzzards that hang out here in the winter. In our trees sometimes in the hundreds. This super cold has taken them away....thank goodness. Not for the cold but for them being gone. It is really really cold here in Ohio. Other places have it a lot worse. Our pump has frozen and we don't have water.....and can't flush. Not good. Stay well and warm.

that gave me a big smile. :D

Lucky you to have such a huge flock of cedar waxwings ... love these pretty birds, but we only see them here occasionally. They do like my neighbour's mountain ash tree when the berries ripen! The little birds left to winter here would probably love to go south for winter ... but I'm afraid they'd never return!

Diane,
That red robin sure looks pretty among all those other birds. You know, one of my favorite things to do is bird watching, and my beloved bird is the hummingbird. Please tell me if you ever see one, won't you?

I hope the new year is treating you well.

Love,
~Sheri

We are so lucky to not be freezing!
I had to laugh at your imposter..
He is really pretty and stands out. How can you miss him?
Hope you are ok.
Happy New Year..
