Thrifting for Holiday Decor

You just never know what you’ll find when you thrift shop.

I was hoping to find something ‘new’ to read but found this instead! (and then I found some books and magazines at the library the same day! YAY!!!)

crossstIMG_0819

It was a dusty old cross stitch that I loved at first sight!

And it was perfect for a little ‘red white and blue’!

Look at the writing on the back.

I love that this Nana signed her creation!

This bookcase has all of my old children’s books that I cherish and I try to mix things up on the top shelf.

I’m joining the Vintage Inspiration Link party HERE,

and Roses of Inspiration.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday weekend!

That is awesome! Can't believe someone would part with it.

I would have brought home the sticthing too. Too bad that a wedding gift from grandma ended up in a thrit shop, though. I do look for beautifully done stitching, I guess because I don't do it. Your bookcase looks very nice. I hope your week is going well.

Oh what a wonderful find, and in such great shape, it is the perfect addition to your display. How special to have all your children's old books. I have never thought to sign the back of my cross-stitching's I have done, I do my quilts but not cross-stitchings, I will have to do that the next one I finish.

What a beautiful treasure you found while thrifting, my friend! I can't believe that someone would part with that, but glad it's in your possession now.
How are you feeling? I'm still praying for you. xo

And now it's found a home with love.

How are you doing, are you healing? I hope that you are seeing lots of improvement, and that you are getting back to normal.

Diane,
I saw your red roses on my side bar, and had to come over and see. The cross stitch is a treasure, and how nice that it is signed by the person who made it. My sister would love this, as she likes red, white, and blue stuff. Your shelf looks charming with all the pretty things.

Have a good week.

It's sad that someone would get rid of something like that but it was your gain and I love it! What a pretty patriotic display. Will you post the books and magazines tomorrow? Please? :)

Diane, I love your thrift store find. And especially the signature on the back...Precious! It's things like that that make finds like yours even more special, and I'm surprised that a family would give up such a sweet heirloom. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Hugs and love,

I love your memorial day decoration vignette. I did nothing in the way of decoration for this holiday, maybe by the 4th of July I'll be more festive. Blessings
