Baby Blues and Petite Yellows, the birds are back!

I've been hiking the Florida trails from the 49th Avenue Trailhead a lot this summer because it has tall trees that shade the trails.

Eastern Bluebird juvenile

And I've seen lots of wildlife and some birds.

But on Wednesday, I hit the jackpot!

In one area there were birds fluttering from tree to tree (and one on the trail in front of me).

I didn't get good photos of everything I saw but I saw a nice flock of young Eastern Bluebirds.

I think this is one too but it sure is hidden against the bark of the tree!

The Warblers were back.

These are probably Pine Warblers but there were some that didn't look like Pine Warblers.

And my photos aren't that great for ID.

They wouldn't stand still! lol

I saw 3 Red-bellied Woodpeckers and a Pileated Woodpecker.

Pileated Woodpecker

Beautiful wildflowers and butterflies all through the forest.

Beautyberry Lane

It was hot but I managed to get a full hike in and take lots of photos to share.

Has it cooled off at your house? Or in your forest?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

You take such beautiful photos!

Cooler here at night with some days in the 80°F temperatures. All in all, there is no room to deny summer is at an end soon.

You have made a beautiful series of photos during your walk.
Fortunately, it has cooled down here and it has rained a lot.

Good to see all those young bluebirds and the warblers making their way south. They are migrating through here by the thousands right now.

Our birds are heading your way. ;-)
Our winter birds are moving in, we have cardinals, woodpeckers, nuthatch and goldfinch that winter over.

It cooled a wee bit here. I hope it goes slow.. my wish is for no kill frost until the middle of October. I will keep you posted. Hee Hee!

ID of warblers is never easy wherever y are in the world. It must be especially difficult in North America in the autumn with all your little green jobs. Ours are all little brown jobs. LOL.

I love all your photos, but the bluebirds are truly special to me because I don't get to see them often. Pretty post!

Lovely photos! September is such a wonderful month for birds and butterflies and wildflowers! I need to get out and see some too, but it's been raining so much we can't seem to get out or go far when it comes to walking. The temperatures are starting to get a little better, but it is still very humid, which makes up for it. How wonderful to see so many juvenile bluebirds! I wonder where they go when they fledge from the birdhouse. We never see them again after they leave here. So maybe they just head for the woods! That is so cool!! Hope you have a lovely rest of September.

I left a long comment, but then my computer said there was an error and to refresh the page...so now I don't know where it went. But anyway, I was enjoying your post and the bluebirds and butterflies and woodpeckers, etc. September is a wonderful month for all of the above! Thank you for sharing the beauty with us.

Lovely to see the warblers, too.

A lovely post.

Yes, it has really cooled off down here.
Okay, that was an obvious falsehood! Hot and humid! Thunderstorms are trying to move to their autumn morning schedule. The woods and swamps are steamier than ever.

But there is so much beauty to see it is hard to stay away!

Thank you so much for continuing to share your adventures. What a wonderful series of photographs to enjoy this morning.

Hello Diane, :=) Oh my goodness those juvenile Bluebirds are so pretty! It really was a bumper walk in the forest seeing so many birds, and that beautiful butterfly. I enjoyed your post very much.
Enjoy your week ahead, with other special sightings.
All the best.

The woodpeckers are real show-offs, aren't they, with their colored plumage. But I like the butterfly picture the best because they don't have a history of pecking holes in my house siding! Ha-ha!

Beautiful post!

What a beautiful place to hike, it's like the birds were there waiting for you to photograph them! the butterflies are really fluttering around my garden lately, I keep thinking I might get out and photograph them, but I am so busy trying to catch up, and it is so hot and humid I just haven;t found the time, in the mean time I will enjoy yours, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue

If I saw a pileated woodpecker in the wild, I would probably stop birding. My one bird that eludes me!!!

Sorry for my late visit. A computer glitch yesterday! Thanks for sharing & linking in.

You always get some great pictures on your hikes. Still hot here but walking on the beach early morning is nice.

Oh that butterfly! We don't have that, which is a loss. But it is so odd to hear you say the birds are "back." They are all gone here! August is so quiet. And now I know where all my little warblers go!

you have so much beautiful wildlife. Wonderful to see the young Eastern Bluebirds. Gives hope for the future. :)

Lots of birds on the trail that day. The Pileated Woodpecker is so funny to watch. That first picture is pretty of the Bluebird. They are such sweet birds. You should put the orangish butterfly up for a Header sometime - it looks very Fall looking. ; )
