"Batten down the hatches!"

Our plans to take some fun day trips were put on hold. Hubby did get a lot of his garage clean out done, just in time!

We are strapping things down outside today and cooking some yummy food to eat as leftovers.

Lots of water stored, extra food and supplies on hand just in case.

Zebra Longwing - the state butterfly of Florida

Our prayers are for those on the coast of Florida. We are in Ocala for those keeping up with the track of Hurricane Ian. Please keep us in your prayers too and when this is over, I'll give you an update.

I hiked on Monday at the 49th Ave Trailhead....hike #120! I'll be anxious to get back out after this blows through! I'll miss my regulars that walk and bike the Florida trails!

Take care and be safe!

Sweet hugs, Diane

Please do keep us posted, Diane. I am keeping a close eye on it as my grandson and family are near Orlando and my 93 year old mother-in-law is also in Florida. I know it must be a very unsettling feeling for all in your state right now. Praying that Ian looses steam and all Floridians stay safe and sound.

Prayets for Safety!

Going out after a storm is scary to me. I prefer to give snakes and such critters time to find new homes away from me.

Stay safe! We are on the coast, but I think the eye of Ian will be just north of us.

Praying for all those in Ian's path. (Gee, I used to like that name.) Glad that you were able to get so much accomplished. Take care and stay safe.

You take care. Let us all know how it goes! I hope you don't fare too badly. Our Canadian east coast is just a mess.

Well here on the East coast--directly across from Orlando--we may be getting more of Ian than you do--but I am all prepped--food and water and even baked some muffins today--( I don't bake much anymore)--I plan to stay here at the senior apartments--this building is all concrete--they will probably close the dinning room on Wednesday and maybe Thursday--but like I said I have plenty of food--I can eat even if the electric goes out--but they say it probably won't as we are on the same grid as the hospital a couple blocks away--only time will tell!!!
Hope we are all safe after this is over--hugs, di

We're in the Orlando area and watching this storm very closely. It looks to be very dangerous.

Take care up in Ocala!

I am praying you will stay safe, Diane!

I hope all near the coast in Tampa area will evacuate. We saw the high storm surge with Hurricane Sandy when we were in in NY and it was devastating. This hurricane appears to be so much stronger.

Stay safe. I'm praying for you and your family.

The Zebra Longwing is gorgeous. I've never seen one in person. They certainly don't come to my yard. Stay safe - we'll talk after Ian leaves Florida.

Hope all is well in Ocala. We've been watching the road cameras in your area because we have family there, too. Fortunately, it looks like things are okay there!

I was just thinking of you last night and wondering if you were okay. We watch the hurricane track with interest still, even though our daughter is no longer in Florida. Stay safe!

Hope you're ok after the storm.

It is a blessing that the storm did not do any real damage where you are. We were good in South Florida too but my cousin's community in Cape Coral was devastated. She is safe but she said it was left like a war zone and they probably will be without electricity and or water for a month.
