Fall Fun...while it lasts!

Well, I think the Fall Craft shows are probably over now. Fall has never been my favorite season but here in this area, it's the time for craft shows and Fall festivals so that's been great!

I'll feature the jewelry trees in this post! Oh my! They are gorgeous and the sweet lady that makes them is a volunteer for Hospice too! She works at the thrift store where I love to shop.

She makes beautiful jewelry and the trees she makes are decorated with jewelry...a lot of it vintage!

I bought one of the small trees last year so I got another one and found a temporary home for it until I decorate for Christmas.

The view from my chair in the living room...don't you love it?

A few other fun finds and treasures. (some glass creations I didn't buy but LOVED!)

I love the basket lady! We have become friends over the years and I have a nice collection of her baskets. But I can always find another one that I need!

And I bought new pillowcases from this talented lady! I should have gotten an extra set! I hope she keeps making them!

Isn't this the cutest leather barrette?

This lady is so artistic that I hope she'll make other things with this pretty face. I had her pull the barrette off the back of mine so that it lays flat. I may glue it on one of my altered books.

Do you have craft fairs in your community? I love buying anything hand made, don't you?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays  and

Katherine's Thursday Favorite things HERE.

I love a good craft show. And the prices on those leather barrettes were fantastic. One church here in Decatur still has a Christmas Craft show ...I hate to see them die out.

I love a good craft fair. They are few and far between here these days. I would much rather buy something handmade any day.

Your home looks lovely.
I'll be glad November is over. Those temperature fluctuations are horrid, with freezing rain and all.

I love craft shows. I especially love the colored glass items. I used to collect some of them. The jewelry tree is quite unusual. I've never seen one. I agree that the leather barrettes are very pretty. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Yes, craft shows are fun. You have shared some very interesting items today. The jewelry tree is a unique idea. My niece uses vintage jewelry to decorate her Christmas tree.

I love fall craft shows and used to go to one in Madill, Oklahoma every November!
Yes, I love the view from where you were!
I’m going to tell my sister, Deanie, about the trees! She has been using her vast collection of antique jewelry to fashion shadow boxes. The trees would be another great idea for her to do....

I love it when you post neat and pretty stuff like this! Oh what a pretty pillowcase and I do love those pretty sparkly jewelry trees, so cute! I dont know if we even have any shows like this around here...so I always enjoy when you share pictures of the ones you go to. Those glass stacked things with the vases and plates i guess glued together?--are neat too. Almost weekend time again. Hope this one is better than the past week....dang cold weather and nasty rain! ha ha LOL

Ps...I did love that cuckoo bird on a post or two back as well. I've never seen one of those and I think even though it's very soft and not outrageously colorful or anything---that is a BEAUTIFUL BIRD! Loved seeing it. Hugs!!

Oh, your wee jewelry tree is adorable! The barrettes are unique too. Yes, we have Christmas Fairs this time of year. I don't go to them any longer because I don't like being in crowds and the number of people is too much for me. I would love to go but must keep my distance. Thank you for sharing your outing with us. Glad you had fun! Hugs...Sandi

Very nice things from the Fall Craft Fairs. I haven't been to one of those in eons. I always enjoyed them. The glow from your little tree makes it so cosy in your living room.

We don't have any that I am aware of here. I love those trees! What a great idea to use up old jewelry! I know I had one I gave to my daughter that her grandmother made but it was and outline of a Christmas tree framed and the tree shape was covered in old jewelry. You found some great items!

I want to know which and where is your favorite thrift store! I've been to a couple but haven't tried them all -- yet!

Your home is lovely. Those jewelry-laden Christmas trees are really nice!

Love your blog, the things you share and now the fact that we have actually met in person! What a thrill that was for me today!

hi diane...i read your post last night and then i nodded off, it was still on my screen this morning. we have a lot of craft shows here, in both the spring and the fall. we go to so many but i have so much "stuff" i usually shop for christmas presents....i adore homemade gifts!!

your jewelry tree is beautiful!! i have 3 christmas trees that i display for christmas and they are all tabletops. they are so much easier to display, and at the end of the season, we cover them with a bike bag and we store them in the storage room. the white basket is really gorgeous, very well made...i would say you did pretty well for yourself!!!

The jewelry trees are charming, Diane. I love those little trees that fit in the corner of the house somewhere. So many pretty things at the craft fair - the white basket, and oh my, that red rose pillow case. Yes, I love buying homemade items - they are really the best kind of gifts. : )

ps.....I noticed the red plaid place mat - I love that! It looks nice and Christmassy on your table.
