I'm breaking out of this place....

I think he can do it, don't you? heehee!

And I know there's bad weather in so much of our country right now,

but Florida has been beautiful!

And the birds have flown South!
(bad news for the worms!)

I've never seen so many birds on my hikes and in the forest!

I know we've probably seen this little Vesper Sparrow in the past but this was our first time to positively identify him.

And after we saw him at the Pruitt Trailhead,
we saw another one on the Florida Trails.

And I took a card out to the mailbox and looked up at this small flock of Sandhill Cranes.

They squawk constantly as they fly over so I had time to run inside and grab the camera.

We had just seen the Crane family at Pruitt this week. They are there year round.

It's hard to stay inside with the sunshine and temps in the 70s! Want to 'break out' with me?

There might be 'monsters' in the woods!

(it's a big oak leaf in the trail! lol)

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Thank you for sharing your lovely weather and those cute little and big birds! It is cold, dreary. foggy and rainy here but today the sun is supposed to come out and be 71 F so I might be out and about too!

Love the patience you have to get just the right shots of the wildlife you observe Diane. A true photographer.

I just love all your photos. I love the birds. That's the one thing I look forward to photographing when I get to Florida for my vacation. Three more months and I'm on my way!! You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

The sound of Sandhill Cranes seems exceptionally resonant and evocative to me. I have to say that squawk does not really do it justice.

It's chilly here in Connecticut, but a sunny day at least. the next few days, snow and rain. Enjoy your sunshine! as always, nice captures.

Hello, I would enjoy your Florida weather, it is cold here. Love the cute Vesper Sparrow photos. I do not remember seeing one before. The cranes in flight are beautiful! Great closeup of the cranes. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thank you for the visit and comment on my blog.

I'm delighted to hear that you are having beautiful weather. They never mention Florida on the news unless there are hurricanes and storms . . . I like to think of it as a tropical paradise :)
Have a sweet weekend and thanks for the pretty photos.
More so; thank you for your prayers.
Connie :)

lol on the monster in the woods. Isn't that the cutest little sparrow? What a sweet little bird. Our cranes have all flown south for the winter. They are much smarter than we are. xo Diana

That bird going through the fence is just too cute. We aren't having any bad weather but it's just sort of cold and gloomy.
That monster in the road does look like some kind of little animal.

Ha, I wouldn't have guessed that was a leaf! Say, "Hi" to the cranes for me, I already miss them. The most we see around here is a family of three or four although they did make a late start down south this year. I think all of us are perplexed by this weird weather. That sweet little Vesper Sparrow looks like an owl from that angle. Am about to fight more shopping traffic in a bit and don't like the sound of that crazy howling wind. It just rained so hopefully no snow today. I may never come back inside if it were 70 (;

The cranes are beautiful to see. The little sparrows are cute. Glad you are enjoying some good weather. It's been cool and rainy here for the last week and it's supposed to improve next week.
Enjoy your day!

I have never seen a Sandhill Crane fly. WOW!! Nice to know they do! Yes, lots of birds down here escaping the early cold and nastiness up north. Thanks for sharing!

our loss, is your gain!! i am so happy for you, that your weather has been so good and you have been able to enjoy it so much. i like the little birdies, and the worm snatch is awesome!!

it looks like you have really nice trails to walk on, i assume bikes can use the path as well. some of our walking paths do not allow bikes and i understand why!!

we have snow coming, i'm not sure how much. i am excited, i hope we get it!!

Yay ... be there soon (hoping for no weather problems on the way...even flying can be iffy these days).

So that's where the birds are! We seem to have mostly vultures.

I'm sort of jealous at all those temperatures and sunshine. Mostly, I'm jealous because I have never seen a Vesper Sparrow and while photos are great, it's not quite the same as the real thing. Enjoy your Sunday Diane.

Love your bird pictures and your sunshine. December brought wintry mix and the next day or so doesn't look a bit sunny. Happy wishes for December.

aahh, so many sweet birds. That Crane family is a wonderful sight. And I thought that leaf at the end was a bird at first hehehe.
