"The Happiness of Pursuit"

I checked a book out of the library this week and was inspired. Even the title inspires you!

The Happiness of Pursuit : Finding the Quest That Will Bring Purpose to your Life by Chris Guillebeau

I couldn't stop reading it and now I'll go back and read some of the pages I bookmarked. (reading it as an ebook allows you to bookmark multiple pages to find easily)

I'll use the quote from Goodreads, "A remarkable book that will both guide and inspire, The Happiness of Pursuit reveals how anyone can bring meaning into their life by undertaking a quest. A book that challenges each of us to take control – to make our lives be about something while at the same time remaining clear-eyed about the commitment -- The Happiness of Pursuit will inspire readers of every age and aspiration.  It’s a playbook for making your life count."

It's very inspiring no matter what your circumstances. I'm not going to travel to all the countries in the world like he did, but I have some new ideas about my hiking adventures. I've made 127 hikes this year so far. I'm wondering how I can use these concepts to 'up my game'. I definitely want to hike some new trails in my area and find some landmarks that I've read about. Have you read a good book lately that I might like?

 Enjoy your day! 😎

Such beautiful photos. I think your hiking and the nature photos that you take are great. I don't walk very well anymore, but I'm always looking for new projects that I can share with others. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Good morning. Love the butterfly photos, and I appreciate the message. Sometimes we do have to work to pursue happiness. The last book I read was just last month, a book that my daughter gave me: Where the Crawdads Sing, a novel about a swamp girl. One of those, books that I couldn't put down. I look forward to your hikes since I've been to Florida and have a totally different idea about what the state looks like, much like those who have never been to Colorado and think that it is one big ski resort. Enjoy your weekend, Diane. I wonder where it will take you.

I have been on a reading kick lately, but I don't know if I have a total share or not. I love that you have such great hiking places. I am missing my beach walks. Tucker is certainly worth the interruption to them though. Once football season is over hopefully I can do some in the winter months.

Love the pictures. Diane, I have a hard time reading any more...seems I get distracted. I would dearly love to have control of my life. I used to be so organized....now I like a one winged fly. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

That book sounds good to me. It seems like at this age I think more often about what the purpose of my life should be. Sounds like it might be especially welcome after the holidays when thoughts turn to fresh starts and resolutions. Putting it on my wishlist now.

That butterfly is gorgeous. I love the goals that you are setting for yourself. As soon as my knee sprain heals I am going to be heading out to explore new walking trails in my area. xo Laura

Sounds interesting, though I am not a fan of self-help books. Is that how you’d describe this?

That butterfly is beautiful!! The book sounds interesting. Not one I would normally pick up to read though so your review is good! I am just finishing Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet for the third or fourth time. Such a good story.

I am hoping to do more hiking/walks this coming year. We don't do long hikes, but I'd like to explore some different trails now that we are moved to a new area. I am not currently doing much reading since we moved. But I am trying to get back at my writing and journaling. That is my challenge for the new year... I also photographed one of those "Common Buckeye butterflies" on one of our walks this past week. I didn't know the name, and I never got around to posting the picture. They must be more active in the fall? Have an exciting and interesting week. This cooler weather sure helps with the walking, doesn't it?

Sounds like an interesting book, it is good to make the most out of each day and to always be thankful for what the day brought no matter how big or small. I have a thankful journal that I write at least 3 things I am thankful for that day, I think that helps to bring Happiness :)
Sorry I haven't read anything more than my Ladies bible study book and the bible lately.
