Isn't this dragonfly dainty?
And colorful...
and beautiful!
And easy to identify as a Halloween Pennant.
It was another beautiful hike at Halpata Tastanaki Preserve with NO ONE else there!
Lots of beautiful wildflowers blooming now in Florida.
And neat looking grasses!
And we began the hike with 2 Great Crested Flycatchers.
And ended the hike with 2 Cattle Egrets!
Do you have lots of flowers blooming where you live right now?
I'm linking with All Seasons at the Jesh Studio too!

Yes, the flowers are blooming at last!
No one there?! That's fabulous and such a great way for you to be out getting your exercise and fresh air.
Your dragonfly photos are exquisite!
Oh Diane! These are phenomenal shots you shared! That Dragonfly has a pattern that would so look gorgeous on a handbag design! you took it with so much detail! I love it! But that tree photo was my favorite! It looks old and wise :)
I am in love with that dragonfly. So pretty. My sister loves dragonflies so I will have to show her this one. We have lots of flowers. I am loaded with roses in my yard. I have to get out there and prune them back.
What wonderful pictures! I have been enjoying my gardenias in which I love the fragrance they give. I did notice late yesterday afternoon that the flowers are beginning to turn now though. (Sad face) But, I have new batch of yellow daisies blooming, YAY! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Oh that dragon fly is lovely. And its name is perfection!! I want to stitch it.:)
What a beautiful dragonfly. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. I love seeing all the new blooms and the birds. Enjoy your day, hugs, Edna B.
I love the dragonfly pictures and this is my favorite time of the year for central Florida backroads with their fields of wildflowers.
Gorgeous dragonfly. Beautiful mosaic. Thanks for dropping by my blog today Diane
Muchđź’–love
I have a passion for all things green grasses especially and I love trees and this one is absolutely gorgeous! The photo of that beautiful green dragonfly is just stunning
Flowers have been coming in waves since mid-March. Right now blackberries are blooming in the natural area behind our condo. They have almost taken over the whole creek area. - Margy
That dragonfly is just beautiful, wonderful photographs.
All the best Jan
Wow! The dragonfly pics are awesome. We currently have butterfly bushes, roses and glads blooming.
Those are really great dragonfly pictures! Thanks for taking us along on your hike!!
Wow, I love that dragonfly! Not sure I've ever seen one quite like it, especially so close! You got some great pictures there. Love all of them, but those are my favorites. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your day with us. We need more of this.
Diane, that dragonfly looks like it is wearing goggles! So pretty! Wonderful pictures!
The dragonfly is absolutely gorgeous! Great photos! I enjoy seeing the birds, too. I have seen some interesting grasses, but do not know what they are, and don't know how to find out.
Blooming here in Mississippi - mostly day lilies! And not just in people's yards. You can see them on the sides of the road and in ditches in some places. As for wildflowers, I see a lot of Queen Anne's Lace (at least I think that is what it is!)
Have a wonderful week!
Maravilha de imagens.
Boa semana.
What a beautiful dragon fly. I've never seen one that color!!
These photos are wonderful, I find dragonflies absolutely fascinating
Beautiful flowers here and *so* different from the ones we would be seeing in Florida! So interesting to compare both. Your dragonfly pic is gorgeous and apparently I have a picture of one on my post (thank you) and didn’t even know what it was! I will do some follow up. I learn so much from blogging. (And tell Mr D that I hope I haven’t committed too much pontificating bloviation here lately )).
It is amazing, but very pleasing no doubt, to have the trail to yourselves. Nature watching and big crowds just don't go together.
Diane - these are spectacular photos of the dragonfly. The first one truly looks like a female faerie holding on for dear life in a gale.
I am in Ohio as I write this, and I am thoroughly enjoying all the flowers that are in bloom here!
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
The butterfly is also a mighty acrobat. I bet he's quite a dancer, too. :-)
What an incredibly beautiful close-up of the Halloween pennant you captured! Such exquisite joy in such a tiny creature! God's creativity never ceases to amaze me! How lovely to enjoy the preserve all to yourself! Many blessings :)
Wonderful photography. The dragonfly is incredible!
Gosh that big old tree is so beautiful. Dragonflies.......I have sure tried to make pictures of them---none of mine turned out pretty like yours! You got some great ones. Hope your week is starting off great. It's getting hot and humid here for sure. Did they come to fix your roof yet???
The dragonfly photos are my favourite.
What wonderful photos, Diane. I always wish when I see your hiking posts, that I was along with you. đź’•
Yow two take just the best hikes, glad to see you had some company along the way, of the feathered variety I mean. It's been quite wet and cold here in Derbyshire this week, not much going on in the garden but my herbs are coming along nicely.
A lovely series of shots! The dragonfly pics are awesome!
Your photos are fantastic. I love the dragonfly photos, the detail, the color, they are fantastic!
Well done friend!
Dragonflies are one of my favorite creatures! Your captures are amazing. Thank you for sharing!
That is a beautiful dragonfly. I am amazed at the fabulous photos you captured. Whenever I do see one I find it nearly impossible to get them to stay still long enough for a photo.
such a beautiful and positive post. Love to see dragonflies. But, so far, there are not many around where I live. Love the grass you are sharing. Don´t think we have this one.
And of course. love to see cattle egrets and that last tree. :)
Take care.
Fue un paseo precioso, la libélula me encanta. Besitos.
More amazing wildlife, and awesome photography!
Hello,
It is wonderful when you have the place to yourselves for walking.

Oh my, I thought I commented on this dragonfly. It is amazingly beautiful. These are great shots, Diane. Sometimes when you look at them, you can see their cute little face. I had a blog friend who took a photo of one, and you could see a smile on its face. ; )
