Hike #69 Oh DEER Me!!!

It was very exciting!

But you’ll just have to take my word for it!

(the buck is in the center of this photo)

The pics aren’t very good. It’s a combination of the fact that they are on the move and that I get SO excited that I can’t focus! heehee! But I saw 2 deer! One a small doe and the other a Buck with antlers.

The bright white that shows up in the photo is actually the flag…or tail of the small deer!

I did get a better photo of a Flycatcher.

He posed for me! Thank you very much!

Oh, and I posed in front of a mirror near the tunnel. (to help the bikes come around the sharp curve and see if any slow walkers are ahead! lol)

Such good walks! I have small town sidewalks with crack. You get amazing bird photos; many I recognize as my spring visitors.

I get excited over deer too. There was a Mom and 3 babies in our backyard yesterday and I got chills just looking at them. Enjoy your hikes and the sites you see along the way.

Hello, I found the deer right away. The deer are always a treat to see. Not sure, but your flycatcher looks like the Eastern Phoebe. I could be wrong, I mix up the PeWee with the Phoebe. Looks like there are warning for bear sightings too there. Great reflection capture. Love the pretty blue sky! Enjoy your day and have a happy weekend!

We have seen a ton of dear this week. The small river they normally hang out at has flooded, so they are moving to higher ground. Happy Holidays!

It looks like such a pleasant place to walk. I'm sure you're enjoying the cooler weather, if its still there. I wish you could visit our house where we see the deer daily--in our yard--the other night I opened the front door to find ten, yet ten, lounging on our lawn. Mostly younger deer. And a buck arrived one morning and stayed all day. Was just a few feet from our kitchen window staring me down. He made himself at home and stripped a tree, sharpening his rack, and took out some of our grass with his huge hoofs (it had recently rained.)
But it would be exciting to see deer down in Florida!

You did nothing wrong when taking the picture of the buck. They camouflage naturally. I have been looking at one in the woods and if my magic, they disappear only to suddenly reappear in another area.
Jeannie@GetMeToTheCountry
I don't think they really are magical.
