Hike #63 Highlights!

I decided to jump right in with this hike because I haven’t shared photos from this hike…on! That’s how far behind I am! And one of the reasons I wanted to do a series!

So here we go….

around 80 degrees today when we hit the trail!

We’re hiking the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

I saw the prettiest little Warbler…

and got a couple of pics!

And then a beautiful Great Crested Flycatcher!

Two pics of him!

Saw a neat butterfly but I’m not sure what it is called.

Even saw a sun dog!

As I ended my hike, I walked around the curve to see the tunnel.

(the trail continues under the highway)

Met a couple of mountain bikes turning onto one of the bike trails. (for bikes only)

A nice place to take a break.

Well, unless the bears have the same idea! lol

I love signs…and love to go slow!

So that took about 1 1/2 hours. How are you doing so far?

Did you enjoy our hike?

I loved your hike. I used to hike all the time until my knees gave out on me. Thanks for sharing this. The scenery is beautiful and I love how you capture the birds and butterflies with your camera.

I love your hikes and especially the birds. I had to laugh at the bear sign. No one seems to believe you when you tell them they are all around. We have lots of them here. Once we were riding bikes as a family when one crossed the road in front of us. We had to go back that way. I can tell you I kept up after that...no lagging behind:)

Hello, love the birds and butterfly. I would like the see a bear, from a distance of course. Pretty capture of the sundog. It is one of the easiest hikes I have been on. Thanks for taking me along. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

I loved the walk! And seeing those beautiful birds! Glad I hiked along with the pictures because I’m not sure I could do an hpur and a half in 80+ temps anymore!

I love the bear sign!! My niece almost hit a bear in the road the other night as she could not see him ambling along. I always enjoy your hikes and I am hoping when my husband retires in january that we can take off and do some hiking together.

Oh friend, what a gorgeous hike! And 80-degrees! It's only 15-degrees here right now. Enjoy your day, lovely lady! Hugs!

yes I did enjoy the hike, so beautiful and about those bears, now I wonder if 80 degree Florida bears hibernate or do they stay up year round? hummmm

What a wonderful hike. Love the pictures of the birds. Hope you don't meet up with any of those bears while you're out hiking

Yes, I did enjoy your hike, thank you very much for sharing. I didn't know bears live in Florida. I know so little about your state.

Freezing cold with howling winds around here, which is my excuse. But so loved to go with you on your hike and particularly liked the bird photos.

Yes, it was a great walk, though a little on the warm side. : )
Don't know why but never thought of Florida as having bears.

I don't know which is prettier, the little warbler or the tree branch he is sitting on. Together they make a beautiful picture.

When your first picture loaded up I felt my body breathe a sigh of relief. It felt good to see a pleasant warm scene. It felt like spring. We didn't even have a fall. It went from blistering hot to cold in one day. Thanks for sharing the encouraging pictures. Winter isn't here yet and I am already looking forward to warmer weather!

As you know, I love hiking, but for the moment I was happy to sip my tea and let my fingers do the walking … I liked the lichen growing on the branch where you saw the warbler - beautiful! I must admit, I am a bit surprised to see a bear sign in that location!
