We really do live in a beautiful community where people love to decorate for Christmas.
A few years ago, I noticed this lovely home just down the street from us had extra special decorations.
They looked so fresh and lively!
WHAT! It may be because they ARE alive!
I spotted a Great White Egret among the decorations.
And followed it from house to house.
It is a regular visitor in our neighborhood so it wasn’t frightened off easily.
But I think it saw something better on the other side of the road! heehee!
So it FLEW!
I hope you’re have a beautiful holiday season!
I’m still hiking and I’ll take you along soon!
I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Hello,
Your header is pretty. It is nice seeing your neighborhood all decorated.
I think the Egret like the decorations too. Great series of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend.
I want to thank you for all the visits and comments on my blog this past year. I am looking forward to visiting your blog in 2019. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
We only have birds and squirrels as part of our lawn decorations. Oh that inflatable gator made me laugh and shudder at the same time.
So pretty and your grass is green! The bad thing about no snow here is everything is pretty brown and hay colored. There's still some green but not like that green in your picture and with us it is only the weeds that don't die! LOL! Love the gator! Happy weekend!
Your neighborhood looks very festive with all the decorations. It's nice to see the Egret, looks like it checking things out. I have to say that is the first gator I ever seen decorated for the holidays. Happy holidays to you and your family.
my first viewing of a Santa Gator... love the live decorations, we watched one from our sofa a couple of days ago, it was focused on a lizard, stalking it. I said to bob, I hope he eats a lot of them. I just got back from my walk and most of the decorations are a mess, snowmen with heads broken off, 7 of 8 of the little trees like in this house flower bed, were down, one standing. we had 3 days of rain and 2 days for rain and gusting wincs to 55.. a real mess.
Live Christmas Critters! I love that! When we were driving home from the ranch last week, we stopped for fuel and in getting back on the highway I spotted a white egret in the rain puddles by the side of the road. There was a bit of trashy debris around but it had found a deep enough puddle to stand in. Cars, trucks and heavy machinery drove right next to it and he didn’t get the least bit upset! Guess wildlife adapts very well to whatever conditions it finds itself!
I’m going to go out and walk the 1.7 miles in my neighborhood today! It won’t be a pretty hike like you take but I walked a few blocks last night and was winded. I need to walk consistently......again......
So cool! thanks
That alligator is the only kind that I would want to encounter on a walk, LOL.
Merry Christmas!
Connie :)
No snow. Well there not much here in Northen Idaho. Now that alligator would be head turner up in my neck of woods.
Coffee is on
That inflatable gator is just too funny!! First time I've seen one! LOL Love the egret among all the white decorations!!
Love that living Christmas decoration ... what a cute story! Could almost be a children's book!
Nice decorations. That egret fit right in
Looks like the egret was walking around talking a look at all the decorations. : )
Love those live decorations! How cool to see an egret. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
I seriously in that first picture thought he was a lawn ornament!! ha ha LOl Your neighborhood looks ABSOLUTELY LOVELY!! Hope your holiday is going well, I've been awful awful busy and I'm a little behind on catching up and commenting. I'm trying tho! LOL
Now THAT is amazing!!
Thanks so much for sharing your post & beautiful Christmas Egret with us at I'd Rather B Birdin this week.
The egret made a fine lawn ornament for their Christmas décor. :) I loved the progression of your photos of him. Your neighborhood is a wonderful place for him to sneak around without being to noticeable.
When we lived in PA, an egret swooped down and ate the eight gold fish we had nurtured inside all winter long. We have a love/hate relationship with them now. Ha! Ha! I guess it was worth it to see one up close and personal. We still get excited when we see one.
Have a wonderful day!
Lovely header and sweet holiday decorations ~ especially the live one! Beautiful egret!
Happy Holidays to you,

😁 That’s a good reason to cross the street. Merry Christmas, Diane!
That is a pretty decor, imagine hanging that top wreath up so high. I like the Santa alligator too. Merry Christmas.
I remember when I visited my daughter one Christmas in Chicago (incidentally it was freezing cold there!!!) I was quite impressed by the lovely Christmas house and garden decorations in the houses in the area where my daughter lived. Quite something!!! It also snowed of course and everything looked so.....so like Christmas. I miss not having that in Spain we always had white Christmases in the UK when I was a child.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year
Amanda :-)
Diane - that egret fit in very well with the other white decorations! My husband and I were just talking this evening about the fact that we don't see many inflatable decorations around here - there is so much wind that they would probably fly away and be found in the next state! Merry Christmas!
FELIZ NAVIDAD!!! Merry Christmas
...a Christmas Alligator is something that I won't see here. Merry Christmas.
LOL! I thought it was a bird decoration! AriadnefromGreece!
I would hate to see that alligator on an evening stroll. It would give me a heart attack.

Oh Diane -- that is the Christmas gift every birder would love. I love every photo here and oh, what a gift to be the one who got to see it! A Christmas miracle, perhaps? Truly beautiful in every way.
Oh my gosh, I thought that was a lawn décor at first hahaha. How funny that the Egret is a regular visitor in your neighborhood. They're so pretty, especially in flight. This house is really lovely all decorated for Christmas.
