*Letters to Santa*

Have you written one yet? It’s not too late you know!

DSCN5795

My blog buddy Jeanie from The Marmelade Gypsy and I are getting our letters ready.

DSCN5794

We’ve both been very very good this year! heehee!

DSCN5805

I got out the altered books that I started last year to find my letter writing supplies!

journals - Copy2

Isn’t it a fun time of year to be a crafter?

DSCN5806

This is another little book I made.

journals-001 - Copy

And some of the pages inside!

I cut old wrapping paper and print out music, make tags and add recipe cards!

DSCN5812

Just something pretty I stamped. First I stamped it with black ink, let it dry and then stamped it again with silver. Isn’t that neat?

Have you made anything special this year?

I like making books and adding to them every year!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays.

I love your Little Books! So sweet and precious! I used to write all my children Christmas letters......but I’ve slowly given that up. No one ever said anything so I dropped the tradition. You are proof that we do not get too old to write Santa!

when I see pretty things like your Santa book, I wish I had just a tiny craft gene in my body. you are right, crafters have a great time during the holidays. it is important to have something to do at home. mine is all computer related, that I love, but creating crafts I just can't do. I relly like the stamped cards. what's a recipe? he he he. I don't cook either

Sis you do the best creative books. I keep thinking I'll have some time to craft but so far haven't. Maybe Scout and I will do something fun this weekend while she stays with me. Hugs!

what a nice project, we are looking at snow for the holiday but it has been a balmy week in the 40's

What a fun book. Christmas is always the most fun to do crafts but I haven't done much this year.

...I saw a great card this week, 'Who Needs Santa when you have Grandma.' Merry Christmas.

The newspaper publishes children's letters to Santa. To get my letter in there I would have to lie about my age, and then I would be in real trouble! Wait a minute, if I used dog years (one dog's year equals seven human years), I would be about 10 years old. Wonder if I could slip that by Santa!

All kidding aside, I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Oh my friend you make SUCH PRETTY THINGS! I enjoy seeing them all! Let's see....don't think I made anything this year except kid's "christmas necklaces" with granddaughter! It was fun though! I also love your woodpecker pictures from the previous post, so beautiful and clear!

I love your books. If I ever make it down to visit you, I want to look at all of them you have made. And see your shell collection. And go to the Farmers Market. And go on lots of hikes.
:-)
Love you,
Carla

Your books are fabulous, Diane. And I love the holiday ones. So pretty and you can tell they take a long while because they look so beautifully made.

I hope Santa brings you everything you want on your list! Merriest!

Trés cool that you write Dear Santa letters. Are altered books also called junk books? Making a junk book is next on my list to try. Your books look and sound fun and happy. :-)

I love all that stuff but how do you make your books and get those cute recipe cards etc. I don't even know where to start! Love all yours!

previous years I have hand made cards with paints, and cut outs, or I have cut up old cards to make new. This year I just used one of my photos and got them bulk printed. Have a lovely Christmas and thankyou for stopping by my blog this week.

Love this post. Yes I have made some things: crocheted some hats and fingerless gloves for the grandkids and build a dollhouse for Lily. Merry Christmas. See you next year.

Your books are fascinating! Do you make them for all seasons, or just save this for a Christmas hobby? I might make some in the future. Thanks for the inspiration!

Your little Santa book is cute, Diane. It looks a bit vintage too. And the stamped trees caught my eye, as I love the trees. I've been wanting to get back to nature lately, and this morning, I did just that. Merry Christmas to you, Diane.

love, ~Sheri

Oh, I do love the little books that you make. You really are good at the details. As you will read on my blog, I am not one that comes up with things, but I take what is there and try to improve it. I do love your Santa cards and books. They are so sweet! Have a wonderful day!
