Hike #71 + Christmas Books!

When you hike, you strengthen your body and at some point you realize you have even more energy.

You still might come home tired but not so tired that you can’t get your work done and enjoy the rest of the day. (and you always sleep better!)

Every year, I showcase a few of my Christmas books on the large coffee table that’s between my 2 red sofas in the living room.

I have a nice collection of books so I pick just a few to have handy to read at the end of a good day.

It was a windy cool day on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

The walk was a brisk one and I didn’t take as many photos.

I don’t usually take photos of buzzards!

But this was a good example of a Turkey Vulture.

We better not slow down now! Walk faster! heehee!

See you tomorrow for another hike in the woods!

I’m joining Angie for Mosaic Monday HERE.

Hello, I love your shell collection. The decorated sand dollars are pretty.
You have a lovely display on your coffee table. You saw some great birds on your hike. I always love the bluebirds. Enjoy your day and new week ahead!

I agree, the move we walk, the more we can walk and the better we feel. if I miss a day of walking I can tell by the way I feel. walking is new to me, just started the beginning of the year. I mean walking for excerciseth. just wish I had someone to walk with me. mother would love your shells collection, she loved hers. I just came from a blog that asked how many Christmas movies we have, the answer is zero and also zero Chrismtas books. but then I own no books or movies of any kind. I read in my e reader every day

I was thinking of Red Bird Christmas by Fanny Flagg the other day. You have inspired me to get it out!

I've been wanting to get back into walking but when it's cold I just can't convince myself.
I like your collection of books

I have a few Christmas books that I put out each year too. Always fun. Thanks for taking us along on your hike!

Diane - you are preaching to the converted - I love hiking, and I always like the pleasantly tired feeling after a good, long walk. Your collection of books is so special, but the shell collection blew my mind. Wow! Thanks for sharing your treasures with all of us at Mosaic Monday!

LOL, we always say that to each other when we see vultures. In the west (of the US, not of Florida) we mistakenly call them buzzards -- in old western movies they were always circling while the bodies were falling. ... you must have had that same wind on this hike that we did on our one (so far) Florida hike.

I really love seeing your Christmas books. I like getting mine out too! And those sand dollars painted with Santa and scenes. Those are exquisite. Did you do those? Whether you did or not, truly a splendid collection.

You always get such beautiful wildlife shots no matter where you go. Thanks for sharing them with us. I'm just not sure I'd want to be around that buzzard though.

What a lovely Christmas table to come home to and relax beside. I can just see you with a nice drink and one of the books in your hand at the end of a great walk :)

I like that you put out Christmas books for the season. Very cool. Last Wednesday, I hiked 2.5 miles, the farthest I've walked in 2 years. It felt so good. I didn't realize I had gotten stronger, a wonderful birthday surprise. :-)

Thanks for sharing the birds and the greenway. It looks like an interesting place.

Happy MM, Diane. I love your printer's tray full of such interesting bits and pieces. And your collection of Christmas books! I'm gathering a small collection myself, but I have a long ways to go.

I agree with you about sleeping better and it's a nice change from swimming but these knees don't take to going too far. We've got the perfect weather for it now though and you know it's not going to last. That's a pretty and interesting collection of books and shells and ornaments. Those couches must be extra happy around Christmas and Valentine's Day.

Hi Diane, oh I love your pretty books and shells. Once the holidays are over I want to start reading again as there are too many distractions for me right now. I have to also renew my gym membership as I have not worked out since November so I need to do that for January. I hope I can motivate myself with them as you are a real motivator for me looking at the places you visit on your hikes.
I hope you and your husband have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Hugs, Julie xo
