Seeing Red!

No, I'm not mad at anyone. I'm not sure I would consider myself 'easy going' but I don't get upset very often either.

I was just noticing all the things around me that are red.

We saw this Cardinal a couple of weeks ago in the courtyard. The first photo was taken a week later and could possibly be the same young bird.

He's kind of a splotchy mess in these!

And while I was hiking on the Florida Trails, this RED got my attention!

Coral Bean

Isn't it beautiful!

Eye catching!

Beautiful RED!

I've been 'online' looking at these! Wouldn't one be fun to drive over to the trails?

And this doesn't even count the two red sofas I can see here in my living room as I write. On the subject of 'seeing'. I DID go for an eye exam and got a good report. I still have good distance vision and the doctor just brought my reading glasses up a little. The doctor said my vision was incredibly amazing....I wrote it down! I was ready for new frames and now they are on order. I went because I was afraid my old glasses were a cause of my headaches. So when I get the new ones, I'll see if they make any difference. I think my headaches are just seasonal allergies. But they are a nuisance for someone that's never had many headaches...ever! Do you ever get end of the summer allergies? I don't really have any other symptoms.

Maybe I shouldn't stare up at this so much.
What? Do you think?

I'm linking with All Seasons at the Jesh Studio.

...those coral beans look like they are invasive!

Adorable little cardinal, we've had lots of baby cardinals around lately. The coral beans are gorgeous! I'll take the Jeep too. Glad all went well with your eye appointment. Have a great week :)

Your red pictures are very pretty. The little beans would be a good flower arrangement filler. I have always had migraines so I can't say mine are seasonal, but Mother who never had headaches has been having them lately. Hers do seem to be allergy related. Late summer and spring get her each year.

hello,

Love the Cardinals, they are all beautiful. The Coral Beans are eye catching, pretty pops of red. I am glad you had a good report from the eye doctor. Take care, enjoy your day! Wishing you a great new week!

I have several beautiful pictures of the coral beans in my archives and I think they are absolutely gorgeous. I love the photo of the little red bird sitting in front of the door that might open and let him go in and meet with the Gnomes that live in there

Oh I love watching the cardinals and love the color RED! Yes mam, I would love to have that red jeep too. LOL! Such pretty pictures. Glad to hear your eyes checked out and I had to start taking allergy meds this morning. It is crazy at all this seasonal mess isn't it? Speaking of eye exam...I am behind and I must make an appointment.....Hugs and blessings, Cindy

You love lavender, but have 2 red couches! Now that is very interesting.

And of course, now you just *have to* show some inside of your home pics!!!! Because you have me very, very interested in your decor.

I am a total lover of "sets." "Sets" in film and tv. Our "Home Sets," with which we live. Etc.

Please.... Pretty please... Pretty please with sugar on it. Will you take some inside photos????

I've never seen a Coral Bean either, but it really is pretty. I just love the Cardinals. I like that Jeep too. And that fan on the porch is a great idea. Looks to me like your "red" day is awesome! Hugs, Edna B.

Red is one of my favorite colors! It wasn’t always so but I find I love it more and more with each passing year.
Your photos are so beautiful. I linger over each one! Eye candy!
Yay for good vision! Even with my new progressive lenses, I still need extra reading glasses! You are blessed!
Two red sofas? I need to SEE these!

I like red a lot and I’m not angry! Wish we had cardinals here in Oregon. Hope you find the cause for those darn headaches, but great that your distance vision is so good .... no wonder you don’t miss much out on your hikes!

Glad you got a good report Diane. I have my yearly exam soon. I think I am going to have to go up a notch on my glasses as well. That Coral Bean is just lovely. Can it be used for decorating in the home? I have never heard of it.

I don't know about allergies but my head makes me a human barometer. When the weather starts changing, my sinuses always alert me ahead of time. I love the color red and was happy seeing so much red here today!

If you're going to see red, this is the way to do it. I always love seeing cardinals in the winter. Their bright color are a treat in an otherwise drab season.

Hi,
I do like the coral bean. It is beautiful.
I am excited to see your new frames and I hope your headaches get better.
I have seasonal allergies too.

We just had a pop up thunder storm and it produced some pea sized hail.
I am going to go check the garden.

You remind me of a game we played with our children and then with grandchildren. "I see something (a color)." Then all take turns trying to determine what was seen and the winner gets to take the next turn. Cardinals are special to us as we had a disabled son who sat in his wheelchair under the oak tree in our back yard and a cardinal often approached quite close by. After he passed, the cardinal often seemed to be looking for him.

Red is my favorite color! Your red pictures are so pretty.

Red us a fabulous color that doesn't suit me at all. But I still like it even if I don't own anything red. And the red beans are beautiful. I think it's fine to share on the blogs. I have made some really good friends and I think it's because I have shared personal things.

If your headaches continue,I hope you will have them checked by a doctor.

That cardinal looked as if he's been seeing red. He looks as if he's been in a bug tussle. Now I'm going to find out if coral bean grows up here.

First, you do know that the coral beans are poisonous, right? I just wanted to make sure. They are pretty to look at, but don't let anyone eat them! Ok, now that I've said that, I love your Red Cardinal. They are such fun to watch, especially as the young ones get their adult colors! I do hope your new glasses will help with the headaches. Could be seasonal allergies and the heat, but if it seems you are getting them more often than you've ever noticed before, maybe time for another kind of check up too. Not trying to alarm you, but I believe in being more safe than sorry...if it is truly something that is nagging at you more than normal. Trusting that it is a simple issue and that the new glasses will help. Also, lack of heat and humidity might help too! Have a blessed week. That red jeep is cool!! Would be fun to drive on the trails...

Howdy there girlfriend, I love cardinals and I love the pictures, you got some great ones! You had some neat birds on the previous post too, a big variety of them. How are your headaches???--hopefully better? I am hoping new glasses might take care of the problem, let me know how you're doing okay? Oh, I love that picture of the mailbox up on your header!! Is it raining down there?---we are getting alot of summer thunderstorms here, pretty much daily. Our gardens and flowers are LOVING IT.

My allergies are at their worst this time of the year. Ragweed is in bloom. Fall allergies are not fun!

I love the little cardinal photos.

Both the coral beans (I've never seen those before) and the cardinals are beautiful examples of red. They are certainly eye catching. I hope your headaches are soon resolved. I get headaches from postural issues - sitting too long, kinks and so on. Whatever causes them, they are not fun!

Salty Pumpkin Studio said...

Your lovely coral beans photos bring back memories. IN high school I wore a coral bean necklace. Headached from allergies are a real drage, lasting all day. Sinus pressure and an indoor air filter help me. I didn't know cardinals molt this time of year.

PS... great guess!--I think those earrings were 99cents! LOL

HA HA dont stare at that ceiling fan too much! Such pretty birds and those coral beads are so pretty. I used to not like red in flower gardens, but in the later years, I have grown to like how it adds such prettiness to the mix. Here is Texas, it is dry , so there is a lot of rag weed and other things that can stir up allergies. Have a good week!

Beautiful post- interesting that you noticed you were seeing so much RED. Weird how we pick up on those things. I currently ALWAYS see 1:11 and 11:11 every single time it comes around- weirdly by chance! picking up my phone, waking up in the night, looking at the stove clock- Angel numbers and all that <3 Hello from Connecticut by the way- my first visit to your blog! Think I'll stick around!
Cheers

I was going to comment on your red post, but got distracted with something. Look at that Red Cardinal, what a beauty! And the coral bean is so pretty. That's such a sweet picture of the Cardinal by your little gnome statue. There's something about Red that makes my heart sing. These are fantastic photos, Diane. By the way, your Header is so lovely with the red font and red flowering plant and the Hummingbird! : )
